I met Bill at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar last year. I stopped in to look at the skateboard decks but was immediately drawn to his large Sacred Heart Series painting. I really had no intention of buying it but once we started talking about music, I was sold. Literally! His passion for art and music is infectious, and if you know just a little about music yourself, you may talk all night! The painting is now the centerpiece of my home and I can’t imagine it not being in my living room! Bill and I have discussed a commissioned piece… stay tuned!

I meet William at a St. Patrick’s Day event. I saw his work and immediately wanted to purchase something. Will actually knew a really good friend of mine and we chatted for a bit. He is super nice and such a great person to talk to. He even held onto my art piece for me till I left the venue and his helper even remember my name as soon as I popped back to pick up the piece I purchased. I will definitely purchase something again.

I was introduced to Bill at an event(GoSocialWise) a few weeks ago. He was so friendly and told us all about his work. We looked through and found a great poster of the Luchador. When we paid, he signed it for us and wrapped it up. We then found the coasters… man, what a great idea. His Sacred Heart series of famous musicians all on coasters! I think these will be great gifts. Anyone who loves music and art must visit his studio. Even if you don’t buy anything(which you will), you can meet Bill and see what he’s all about.

I drunk-bought a large portrait of The Dude at Lollapalooza last year. I got 4 awesome coasters(I’ll be buying more of these as I am incredibly fond of them) for free, and it shipped promptly and showed up in perfect condition. It now hangs proudly in my living room. I’m planning on buying more this year at Lolla!

We have Bill Stidham’s work all over the house. His Sacred Heart series is an iconic way to translate a home’s love for music. Always a conversation starter.

Thanks to GoSocialWise, my husband and I were introduced to a part of Austin we normally wouldn’t have encountered on our own. Off the beaten path, William K. Stidham’s art studio is located toward the end of a nondescript business park in south Austin. It’s like finding Aladdin’s cave after walking about in the desert. The studio is a small place filled with light and colour. I enjoyed the painted portraits of musicians — the one of Willie Nelson was my particular favourite. It’s always nice to find out more about the city we live in. Discovering hidden treasures like this art studio is just the kind of thing that makes me happy.

I attended an art event by GoSocialWise last night here. We were able to meet and chat with the artist, Bill and his lovely wife. Both are terrific people, but that’s not why I would recommend this pace. If you are a fan of iconic music, you will love his series on artists that have had an impact on the music world, past and present. The collection features Bill’s rendition of portraits of musicians from Dave Bowie to Frank Sinatra to Snoop Dogg. We have been looking for art and picked up a couple of pieces last night. Bill graciously wrote a personal message on each piece for us. If you can’t afford the original stuff, he has reasonably-priced prints and coasters of his art for sale as well.
