I am a fan of new places with good food & good prices. These good folks in the East Side Food Park are just trying to make it in the world, ya know? The women that worked here were sweet, and so asked«How long have you been open?» The woman; «A long time!» Lee; «Really. Wow. How long?» The woman; «I think it has been a month?!» Lee; «REALLY…WOW. THAT’s AWESOME! One WHOLE month?!!»(big smile) A bacon cheese burger w/fries and a drink $ 6 and a Regular Burger w/fries and a drink $ 5. There were other choices, but I am only reviewing the things we ordered. If they had not have mixed up the orders, I would probably want to give more than 3.5 stars. I agree with David m. that this burger reminded me of ones I would get at the ‘Country Club’ when I was growing up. Cooked on a griddle, bun as well. Fries = same. Before you begin thinking I grew up all ‘Country Club’(all Freddy Couples or Phil Mickelson-like) — let me put things in perspective; — Country Club location; Terrell, TX(not exactly a mecca of golf). — Country Club size; 9 holes — Club amenities; clubhouse with a ‘grill’, a bar, a smallish eating area, and a driving range(which was SOBIG(not!) that if you hooked it, you’d better yell ‘FORE’ to people in the Clubhouse — or if you sliced it… you’d better yell ‘FORE’ to folks at the apartments across the road(which we never did… oops!). — Club membership — GrandDad’s(our family w/4 kids could not have afforded this luxury) All in all, it was a good burger and a nice memory.

I went looking for ‘Not Your Mama’s’ which had an incorrect time in it and ended up here in the same lot. Wednesdays are Hamburger Special day — but I can get a good burger all over town. I’m on the east side — knock me out with something different. Here it is: Four Diablo Taco’s for $ 6(see the picture — those are 4 tacos). I’m not usually a crunchy taco fan — but these were in smaller, easier to eat shells. The meat was juicy, lots of crisp onions, large-cut cilantro leaves, some shredded cheese — all topped with a home made ‘Diablo’ Sauce. The sauce makes the meal. It’s like a SRIRACHA Hot Chili Sauce, but with a little more of a Garlic kick. The only knock — who doesn’t sell bottled water? The only option was $ 1 for a can of coke, $ 2 for a bottle of the Mexi-coke. BUT — bonus points for the Maxim magazines to read while you wait and eat.

Just came back from trying their bacon cheeseburger. $ 5.50 is a good price for a great size burger. Not too big, not too small. The meat is not your average pre-packaged frozen patty. Check out the pictures to open your appetite. My brother complained about the tomato not being fresh and crispy. But hey, I say, when was the last time you tasted a crispy tomato in a burger? The fries could have been better, yet the portion was just right and I am pleased that I got to add salt to taste, for a change. The drinks were so cold that there was a bit of frost inside the can, to me, that’s a plus. What won me over was the«free movie» screening while you wait. Or you could actually make it «dinner and a movie» if you plan it right. Bottom line, this place is A-OK. Just right, nothing fancy, home-made feel, genuine, nice smiley people(don’t get much of that anymore) and away from the busy areas of town. Yep. I’ll be back.

Good stuff people. Delicious burger like you like it with no frills unless asked. Very reasonable for the amount of food. Reminds me of my childhood kind of burgers and you know I likes me some burgers yo! I will definitely be coming back. Look at my pics for the prices.

I LOVE hamburgers. I recently got a food cart directly opposite the two lovely ladies that run Head Hanchos. I got lucky. The hamburgers are just the epitome of classic cheap good dive hamburgers. No frills, no fuss. Just a great tasting burger. I’ve also been lucky enough to try there nachos and those were awesome too. Big portions, and inexpensive. All the patties are hand made daily and the slow cooked and shredded chicken that was on the nachos was delicious. They fry their chips to order!!! Sure I’ll try other burger joints, but when it comes down to if I’ll come back, it needs to be delicious AND affordable. Head Hanchos has it all.
