Laura came and gave a couple of classes up here at work. She’s so fun! I learned so much. And, you wouldn’t believe you got a workout when your just smiling and laughing the whole time. But, I felt it the next day. Definitely, take some of her classes!

I went from only being able to hoop around my waist to being able to do so many cool tricks. Laura is great for all levels of hoopers. She is helpful and patient.

I got the chance to make a hoop with Miss. Laura and I absolutely love her. My only wish is that she started teaching classes again! I would jump at the opportunity to take a class with her!

The best exercise regimen is one that you will stick to, and for me that means having fun. Sure the gym is helpful, but hoop dancing provides an excellent core workout, and for the more advanced, upper body exercise for your chest and arms. I highly recommend her PUSH class for a total body workout. Happy Hooping!

I heard about hooping from a friend in Dallas so I looked it up here in Austin. I stumbled across a few pages and saw the same name crop up. Laura Scarbrough. So I looked for her specifically and found . I chatted with her via email a bit and signed up for her five week beginners class. I have completed three weeks so far and am looking forward to the next two. The first class was high energy. We did a lot and Laura pushed us without being a drill sergeant. Her enthusiasm – evangelism, even – comes through. We learned to pump and rock our hips and even do a pose called the Wild West. Not once did it seem repetitive or boring. Combined with high energy music, sweat and laughter, my heart was certainly in the aerobic work out zone. Each class subsequently has layered on more and more information. Laura is an excellent teacher who gives her students individualized attention. I have learned to be more gentle with myself and allow mistakes to happen. One lesson Laura pushes is to celebrate with the hoop drops. She will tell you that means you are just learning something new. And she’s right. I highly recommend hooping with Laura as a great way to enjoy yourself. I am taking this as a way to exercise but it is so much more than that. It’s about falling back in love with your own body no matter what it looks like.

I have been taking(hula) hoop classes for a couple of months now from Laura. I still have a lot to learn — but I’m telling you — this stuff is really fun. I have gotten stronger and more toned — even lost a little weight — and am learning to move my body in a more beautiful and fun way — the emphasis is on learning here. The thing is — it is the most fun type of exercise I have ever done –if you call it exercise — it is art, meditation, play and sport all rolled together The music she plays for class rocks — and she is a great teacher. These hoops are not the regular kind from the toy store. She makes and sells the larger hoops that make hooping easier — and they are cool designs. Or you can go to a hoop making class and make your own custom hoop for about half the price of buying one ready made. Check out her website for class information. Whoopee!
