I just had a horrible experience with an older tutor in microeconomics. He was incredibly unhelpful, danced around all of my questions, did not explain anything in a helpful manner and his phone rang twice during our one hour session. My experience was incredibly negative. Would highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. Incredibly disappointing.

OK, since House of Tutors finally got back to me after I left this review, I guess I should increase their note, but not much: I still had to call back during business hours because the email they said in their voicemail they would send me never arrived (and I checked spam)…
Anyway, following my poor experience exchanging with HoT, I was advised to email them at
if I couldn’t call them during business hours, and since you can’t easily find that adress on the website, I hope it will help others!

I have sent many students to the house of tutors since 2004 and all with very positive feedback. I was teaching Spanish briefly at Westlake HS and their tutors really helped a lot of my struggling students improve not only their understanding of grammatical concepts, but also practical use of the language. ESL, exam prep (SAT, ACT, GMAT, LSAT, etc.) are some of their specialties I know.
