Our experience with Dr. Imtiaz Alam is that he literally has one hand on the doorknob the whole time he’s talking with us. I really mean literally! His hand was actually on the doorknob! We found this extremely unacceptable. The whole reason we came to this office was for his reputation and the first thing they did was pawn us off onto their nurse, Rebecca. Rebecca, BTW, is super nice, professional, thorough, and we have no issues with her, but she’s not the doctor we came to see. The front office is totally incompetent. Good luck getting a human on the phone to schedule an appointment or pay a bill during their ridiculously short office hours. Even when you call during their office hours, the voicemail will tell you the office is closed sometimes. As you can imagine, this is entirely frustrating! It’s as if you have to drive there just to schedule an appointment or pay a bill. It’s not just us either, because we heard some lady venting to the front desk about the same thing when we were in the office. We are going to switch to another doctor ASAP.

Appalled and shocked at this doctor. I met him and I explained my symptoms in less than a minute what appeared to be a parasite infection I got in South America. The doctor after being there for only 2 minutes l says«studies shows and your symptoms that you have been raped by your father, WHAT? That has got to be the sickest and stupiest thing he could say and now I am beginning to see a pattern with some of these verbally abusive doctors. I was to sick to see another Incompetent doctor but i had a endoscopic with him and I just ignored his rude comment. People have no class or when you cross the line. To tell me that I was raped by my father was disgusting. I think he should take a class on manners. to make a accusation like that disgusts me. I agree with Dawn C.

I saw Alam for Gastroenterology services and he was shall we say, horrible. He either has no interest in truly treating patients with GI issues and prefer to focus on his Hep B, Hep C patients or he just has a terrible bedside manner. The first and only visit in his office should have been a red flag. I was on time, early to be exact and he was busy with another patient. No worries but when he finally got to me he was in and out in a hurry. I was surprised but gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking he was having an unusually busy day, also since this was not my first time dealing with this issue I knew that he really needed to do the medical procedure to see what was going on so I excused his in office curtness and scheduled my procedure. Big mistake on my part. The day of my procedure we were at the hospital early and all checked in only to wait, and wait and wait. The hospital staff were great but eventually I sensed that even they were annoyed at how he had us waiting. We watched other patients come and go and when Alam finally showed up he did not say 2 frickin words to me at all. Nothing! I have never had a doctor be so inconsiderate, callous and unprofessional. He spoke briefly with my family member post the procedure and a month later I still have not been able to schedule the«follow up» appointment to discuss his findings. His office has never called to schedule a follow-up and every time I call his office I get a recording. I have called during office hours and the recording will say that I am calling after hours and to call back. I have called early in the morning and again only get a recording. His office closes at 5:00 pm and around lunch time but no matter what time I call I never speak to a person! HIs office staff are ok when and if you can actually speak to them but they are next to impossible to get ahold of. I have heard nothing from them until yesterday when I received a small bill for my portion of the bill that insurance did not cover. I will hand deliver my payment and wash my hands of this fool. I’m not sure if he is simply inept or has the worst bedside manner in the universe either way when it comes to peoples health this behavior is not acceptable. If you have need Gastroenterology care go some place else!

Dr. Alam is very thorough and kind. He does tend to move through appointments rather quickly, but understandably so, as he is apparently a very busy man. He is very intelligent and accomplished, which is a comfort to me, and is always genuinely interested in my health and well-being. I’ve had procedures by him as well, and he was very informative about the procedure and walked me through everything to make me more comfortable. The only negative thing I will say is that his office staff is not always the most friendly or professional. This is in reference mostly to dealing with his PA over the phone about my prescription questions. She tends to sound irritated and it makes getting information from her rather difficult. The woman who is usually behind the front desk is very friendly and helpful, though!
