Dr Karnik is just excellent. He’s compassionate, caring and brilliant, and very good with our son. He’s also stood behind us in trying to get the proper accommodations at school, which has been invaluable. Austin is very lucky to have him!

There is a reason this guy is in demand. My son’s therapists recommended Dr. Karnik awhile back and it took almost a year to get an appointment.
My son is autistic. One of the first things Dr. Karnik asked me was if my son had an MTHFR mutation. I asked my family physician/​pediatrician to check my son for MTHFR defects, and the pediatrician had no idea what it was. I was into alternative medicine for awhile and did the GAPS diet, which, to my surprise, Dr. Karnik was familiar with. He is a rare combination of holistic and science-​based. He knew what deficiencies to test for and did a battery of blood tests, including kidney function, calcium levels, vitamin D.
He has a very gentle and reassuring manner. His nurse, Tina, is great. Kind and helpful. If I call in with a question I get an answer within a day or two.
Waiting room times can be really long, but this is an instance where you begrudgingly put up with it.

Two of our children have been patients of Dr. Karnik for years, and I have to rave about this wonderful doctor. He is a leader in his field… very, very intelligent. Yet when we are in his office, he sure knows how to make a parent feel proud. He really focuses on the strengths and gifts of each child and even tells them how awesome they are! He is gentle, positive and respectful in every way. Every appointment has given me that boost of hope and confidence that I am getting the best care for my children and that their doctor recognizes my efforts as an involved parent. I certainly appreciate that about Dr. Karnik. His nurse, Tina, is fabulous as well. She is always courteous and prompt in refilling my son’s prescription. Whenever I have a chance to interact with her in person, she is just so pleasant and caring. I know we have found ourselves a couple of gems.

Dr. Karnik has been our pediatric neurologist for over 3 years now. Austin is so fortunate to have such an amazing neurologist who truely cares about his patients and all of the families that he helps. Yes, he is in demand but we always feel that he treats us as if we are the only patients there during the appointment. He is so nice to my son and has a great bedside manner with him and so attentive to our concerns. His staff is also caring and efficient and so helpful. Can’t thank them all enough for the wonderful care that they provide!
