I liked the space, but the service was disorganized, and they were out of plain croissants(at noon on a Saturday), so we couldn’t have a croissant with our egg dishes.

Disappointing ! Not as Good as the other loc a tion Nd service members were bored and not in the mood to work from. what it looked like. Food was not really warm and blend so won’t be back to this location

The La Madeleine concept lends itself to quality advertising when it sets up shop next to hospitals, hotels, and middle-class shopping. And it executed this plan of attack well by planting down roots in this just-under-burgeoning sliver of East Austin. Who would have ever thought this plot of Austin, just 2 miles directly east of UT’s Intramural fields, would need a La Madeleine to keep all of the visitors fed? And who would have ever thought a Residence Inn would be needed right next to a Home Depot? Not much ought to be said about this faux-French café except that you can indulge in free bread; not-so-French portions of sandwiches; and carbs, creams, and soups galore for no more than $ 12 a head.

Usually good. But no fireplace working — lame excuses. Food not up to par. Waited at front to be served for nearly 5 minutes– lots of people running around, no focus on customers. Ordered and paid for coffee– but no coffee, just an empty pot. Had to track down a clerk to find coffee-everyone confused in the kitchen. Took almost five minutes for coffee to come out. Sadly, never saw any of their french dark roast. Stuck with mild american. Earmarks of poor management.

Been going to La Madeleine(mostly in Dallas) for decades. There is something amiss here — the food was overly seasoned with salt and the counter was understaffed and flustered. Ross McQuistan, General Manager, either you or your staff are not maintaining this chains high standards. Please get it together — if things don’t get better on my next visit, you’ve lost me.

I have been coming to this la Madeleine since the grand opening and it was awesome! I go to this la Madeline pretty frequently because it’s close to my place, can take my dog to the outdoor seating, and I love la Madeline! When this place just opened, their coffee was on point, food, and services were great! However, lately everything seems to be falling apart here. Service has become poor and food has been soooo salty and not great. Last Sunday, I went to get Beef Bourguignon. First time I had it, it was SOGOOD! So I was looking forward to it but it was so damn salty that I had to drink so much water with it. Then, I went in today during lunch hours with my husband and ordered a lemonade and turkey risotto, my husband orders an iced tea and turkey melt with French onion soup and tomato basil soup for me. EVERYTHINGWASSALTY! The lemonade was so sour and the tea was just so bland. The customer service was not very great either. I don’t know what is going on with this place lately but needs to get their stuff straight real quick.

Pretty tasty, definitely one of the better chains around here. I particularly like the free jam and bread available to grab while you wait. And their tomato bisque soup really is quite good, albeit a bit salty if eaten without bread or a sandwich. Stays pretty busy even on weekends.

As always, walking into La Madeline. Seeing all the pastries. Gives you a instant sweet tooth. This one particular location I like so much. The staffs are so welcoming and kind. The love the atmosphere, so calming and warm. Pastries !!! Yum French food … Yum!!! Two thumbs up for them as well.

A generic take on some complex dishes. That about sums up my feelings about La Madeleine. In an effort to make their offering widely accepted, they have dumbed down the taste of France, and added salt… lots of it. Beef bourguignon — such a complex dish to make. La Madeleine has butchered this historical dish. It tastes like a glorified over-salted beef stew. The care and precision that goes into making beef bourguignon is completely lost in this version. Their strong suit is soup, salad, the French dip sandwich, and any of their bread. Stick to these things at La Madeleine, and you’ll be in good shape. The au jus for the French dip is actual French onion soup, and this makes for an amazing French dip experience.

I have not been to a La Madeleine since the early 90s. Now one is located near where I live! Whoo hoo! I loved it! Yes! The tomato basil soup is so rich and cremy. Oh la la! And the croque monsiuer, first I have had in years anywhere was prepared perfectly. Not dripping or soggy. Just absolulely perfect! The bread and jam was fresh. The place was clean. Can’t wait to go for something even more sinfully delicious! And what was cool as we got pages when placing our orders. You just put it in the middle of table and the person porting your food to you finds you easily and does not even interupt a conversation. Awesome technology!

Food was great. Good-size portions for the price. Ambience was great. No long lines. Complimentary self-serve sourdough bread and jams. What else could you want? They’re famous for their tomato-basil soup. And it is awesome. I had a half sandwich with a cup of tomato-basil and it was the perfect amount of food(especially with all the complimentary bread and jam). My hubs had the beef bougignon and it was spot-on. Everything we ordered tasted great, which rarely happens. This location is never crowded, and there’s plenty of parking and plenty of tables. I think this would make an excellent alternative to your standard coffee-shop. It still has that«café» feel, but you can order different foods if you want more than just a sandwich or pastry. Everything is self-serve, which I also prefer. So try it out and do your studying there with endless cups of coffee and complimentary sourdough bread and jam. Also a good place for meetings b/c there’s plenty of tables. Food is great too if you get hungry.

La Madeleine has come to Mueller! I remember when the former central Austin location shut down many years ago and we all cried. Now that it’s here, I’ve noticed a significant change in this location’s serving model that I’m not sure I love: They have gotten rid of the ‘cafeteria style’ line where their most popular dishes(salads, cold pastas, soups, etc.) are on display. That was my FAVORITE part about La Madeleine. Yes, yes, I can still order my Chicken Friand from the menu… but it’s not the same as pointing at the pastry puff and then watching the cream of mushroom soup get ladled generously on top. It’s still my favorite one-stop shop to eat a relaxed«French» brunch in the ‘burbs and I’ll be back to give this location another try.

Iove this place. Great salads customer service and soup. Wish they had smaller soup sizes to go and premade food here. It is a quaint little place. Reminds me of other la Madeline. No chicken friand here. Like the old building.

Finally a La Madeline closer to campus! This is probably the first location I’ve seen that doesn’t have the normal cafeteria line set up. Here, you order your food at the register and they give you an electronic pager thing. I was expecting it to ring when my food was ready but it didn’t and a waiter just brought it to me. Chicken Caesar salad is delicious, as always, and the bread station is hidden on the other side of the drink station. Overall, a nice location with big windows. It doesn’t seem to get too crowded either so it’d probably be a good place to get some work done.

Was not sure what to expect when I came here. It seems like a great place for lunch. It is kind of like an upscale panera bread if you have ever at there before. The interior is nice feels very Italy. I had the chicken crêpe for lunch. It was tasty. Thus is a place I would come back to and try different things. The service was great I was waiting for my food and I guess it took some time and I did not notice because I was Unilocaling. They brought the food out and said they were sorry for the wait and offered me a free sweets to take home very thoughtful and a nice touch.

Let me start by saying that I’m not the biggest fan of «cafeteria» style places — meaning, placing you order and then picking up your food once it’s ready. I just normally prefer a waiter service. With that said though, I was super impressed by the friendliness and quality of food at this restaurant. The place was very clean and they bused the tables quickly as people left. We didn’t have to wait very long at all for our food to be ready and it was delivered to our tables. Both my husband and I really loved what we ordered. The best part was the crème brûlée tart I ordered from the bakery case. It was amazing! I can see myself stopping in for one of those every now and then. I do think the pricing is a little high for a place that isn’t full service.

I was really excited to hear La Madeleine was opening in my neighborhood. Now that it’s open, I wish I liked this particular La Madeleine more. This location just makes me depressed. It’s not the cozy La Madeleine you may expect if you’ve been to other La Madeleines. Our neighborhood was invited to the soft opening, at which they explained this is one of their«new concept» restaurants. To me that just translates to making it feel more like any ol’ regular strip mall restaurant. Each time I’ve been there, I’ve seen flies or fruit fly/gnat kind of bugs on the lemons near the tea and flying around in the pastry case. It definitely keeps me from ordering anything from the case. And it makes me wary about the sanitary conditions that I can’t see, since that is just what is visible in the front of the house. Every time I’ve ordered a salad at this location, there has been significant wilted lettuce in the salad. That’s never happened to me at any other La Madeline location. It’s disappointing and again makes me concerned about what’s going on in the kitchen. I’ll give it a couple of more chances, but if it keeps depressing me, I’ll save my visits to La Madelines for other locations, even though this location is super convenient.

Yayyyy! A new spot I can go to when I’m on my break from work! I love this place. Super nice service and good breakfast. The set up is quite different from the other Madeleine’s that I’ve been too. This place is much larger and spacious. Two cups of coffee and a good breakfast leaves my tummy happy! Coffee is refillable and there’s a bread, jam, and butter bar. I’m so glad it’s close by!

Welcome to the neighborhood, La Madeleine! I don’t always frequent big chain restaurants, but when I do, La Madeleine is definitely in the top tier. Great coffee, delicious breakfast, amazing soups and salads, and impeccable service. It’s ever-so-slightly cheesy with the French theme, but guess what, it’s fun. It’s all just a part of the great customer service you’ll get when you’re there. Be prepared to be greeted with a smiling«Bonjour»! It’s adorable. This location has all of the great things you would expect from La Mad. The building its in is very modern, and you are surrounded by big box stores. It’s not my favorite location based only on those things, but that can’t be helped. There just aren’t cute little cottage-looking buildings at Mueller. That’s Mueller’s fault for completely ignoring the unique, vintage neighborhood next door to it! I’m probably being defensive because that’s the side I happen to live on and love haha. Be aware that although La Mad looks a little swanky, it’s actually not a full service restaurant. Make sure to pick up your own flatware and napkins before you take a seat.

I attended the soft opening of La Madeleine today for breakfast with some coworkers. We’re excited to have a new breakfast and lunch spot in Mueller! The space in new, clean, airy, and bright. The staff were all very friendly and patient, as they’re still in training. Staff took our orders quickly, you get a number, and they deliver the food to your table. I tried the almond croissant, which was flaky, just the right amount of sweet, and delicious! My coworker enjoyed the bran muffin and fruit and yogurt parfait. I also ordered the omelet with egg whites, onion, mushroom, and cheddar. It was fluffy and flavorful. The baguette was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Another coworker enjoyed the quiche. The only tip for new managers — it seemed difficult for the staff to see the numbers for food orders on the tables. Maybe they light up or buzz in the future and they’re not working yet, but I felt bad for some of the staff wandering around, trying to see the numbers on the small device. La Madeleine will be a new go-to place for breakfast and lunch!
