Labcorp Patient Service Centers

Ok so I didn’t have a horrible experience like a lot of other people. I checked in, had my paperwork in hand and then killed time on my iPhone. About 10 min later I got taken to the back and blood drawn. I got there about 8:30am and it wasn’t super busy. Were a few people waiting, but not sure what for?!
I would say for a food sensitivity test or something simple it is a breeze. For a drug test idk?

My doc ordered every blood test under the sun, so it was off to Labcorp for me. I was extremely anxious, as I normally pass out when my blood is drawn. And after I read the reviews on this place I was really starting to freak out. I was pleasantly surprised, though maybe it’s because my expectations were so low. Sure, the staff was goofing around with each other… But you gotta keep your spirits up somehow in a place like that! It was not the most welcoming office I’ve ever set foot in, but it was clean. The woman who drew my blood was super nice and gentle with me, and made sure I was feeling okay. She was making jokes and distracting me which I thought was very sweet. All in all, it was good visit.

Lab places are never fun. I don’t think I’ve ever woken up and thought to myself, «I’m super excited to have my blood drawn and give a urine sample!»
With the amount of inconvenience that coincides with these drug screenings I really expected the actual facility to be as awful as my attitude and mood was. I was not disappointed.
It was an obnoxiously long wait, and after looking on their website, I learned that they only do drug screenings at certain times and judging by these reviews the times change so get on their website and double check before you wait in a horribly dull and beige office for hours on end.
The thing that really grossed me out, they make you not only pee in a cup, but they make you carry it out in front of everyone. DISGUSTING. I had people I didn’t even know looking at my pee. It freaked me out and honestly kinda embarrassed me. Whatever it’s done and over with now.

Staff was rude, there was only 2 workers when I went. There was me and 2 other ladies waiting and it took 45 mins. The 2 workers carried on a conversation about their burping contest and who won… Instead of attending other people. If I didn’t have to come here for a pre employment drug screen I wouldn’t. Horrible experience!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Rudest staff I’ve ever encountered and dirty, broken down, facilities. I honestly felt like I was gonna contract some kind of illness while waiting the 45 minutes for my blood tests. If your doctor or employer sends you here, I suggest you to request another location. TRUST ME.

These are some of the rudest people I’ve come across in a long time. I am so sorry I came in at the end of your day, I was just doing what I was told. The staff was just sitting behind the desk looking at apartments online and complaining about how expensive they are. Apparently, I interrupted their personal time. I was there at 345, and gone by 355, so I didn’t make you stay longer than your 8 – 4 day. I know people will still use Lab Corp because there aren’t a ton of choices, but I won’t go there again. Terrible business, dirty lab. Hopefully my blood draws don’t get contaminated. Ugh.

I’m a nurse, and have had my share of drug tests. When you are forced to have a urine drug screen or you can’t start a job, you go where you need to go and do what you need to do so you can work. With that being said, the place is dingy and could use a nice clean up, understaffed, rude staff, and extremely crowded with long wait times… I would never willingly go here, but like I said I had no choice. First of all, they have regular hours, and then they have certain hours for drug screen. Check the hours before you go. Second, we waited over an hour and had gotten there only 20 minutes after they opened. I would recommend getting there before they open, wait in your car, and stampede the door once they unlock it. Third, please come ready to pee! They have a water machine if you need it, but it just puts things behind.
If I could pick out one thing that I really didn’t enjoy about my experience is the fact that there’s no privacy. The sign in window has no glass for sound privacy, and the opening is so large that you can see behind the door. You can hear anything that a patient says to the workers and vice versa, as they stand right behind the door that leads to the back and loudly tell you the instructions on how to pee, and you even have the joy of seeing each patient carry their pee cup to the worker and set it down on the counter. Legit no privacy.
There’s only two workers that we saw. One was doing drug tests the whole time, and the other was going back and forth between clerical work and performing drug tests. They were busy, and they were rude. I just feel like they were unapproachable, and if anyone has heard of the word HIPPA, it may be an issue at this place.
Go there, give them your urine sample, and never go back!

Super convenient and skilled technician! LabCorp is an ideal laboratory for everybody’s favorite pastime, getting blood-​work done. My favorite part was the technician who helped me during my visit. Very short wait time and no pain at all! The experience was so good that I didn’t even knock off a star for the rude receptionist. I politely asked her for an estimation of waiting room time. She said «I have no idea about that.» After she saw my –ok, is it gonna be like a 15 minute or an hour wait?- look on my face, she responded, «Not long at all.» A response for a waiting room estimate for a walk-​in is pretty standard. The rest of the facility is great though, and I highly recommend it if you live in the area! They accept appointments as well as walk-​ins. Whole ordeal walking in, including parking, took me about 20 minutes.

I would like to update my review by saying this, my insurance changed providers. They used to make me go to labcorp, now they make me go to Quest. OMG going to Quest is like going to heaven. They are pleasant, quick, and they got the vein the first time. Ask your insurance if you can go to Quest instead.

Wow, this place is horrible.
Everything looks really dingy, old and ghetto (the opposite of what a medical office should be like) and the customer service is horrible. I walked in and there were three people sitting in the receptionist area, yet only one of them rudely greeted me. The other two just continued on their conversation like I didn’t exist. I gave them my lab order and I was told to come inside. Surprisingly, the women who talked to me and took my order also drew my blood. I walked out and the other two were still sitting there talking. I can’t help but wonder what they do there…

Reading the other reviews, I guess it’s hard to love a place that – when expressed in job seeker terms – stands between urine and urout. In two out of the three cases, that was the issue. Fortunately, my case was different.
I had to use LabCorp for the first time for medical tests this past October due to a SNAFU with my new plan administrator, United HealthCare. For some reason, they didn’t have CPL listed as one of their in-​network providers for my group, even though CPL verified to me that they had a contract with United for my group. LabCorp is a nationwide service provider for United, so I’m guessing they intentionally steer patients to LabCorp for volume discounts, even when there is another in-​network provider available.
I’d always thought of Labcorp as though it were missing an ‘se’ at the end of their name, run by elderly women fresh off a night gambling on the Vegas strip with lit cigarettes still dangling from their lips and a bottle of cheap gin on the desk. The South Austin location is in a dark, dingy corner office in a dated «That 70s Show» medical building with limited parking. Yet, despite location and appearance, my two visits to this location were met with friendly receptions by staff and very reasonable wait times. These are two qualities which Clinical Pathology often lacks.
On the first visit, I needed to pick up some specimen containers for a study prior to the actual blood draw. Although the staff initially seemed momentarily perplexed, they quickly found someone familiar with the test who called me back to a draw station and calmly and fully explained the process to me. I felt this experience went far better than expected. In the same situation, CPL would hand the containers to you at the front desk and explain your «business» to everyone in the waiting area.
On the return visit for blood work and drop-​off, everything was handled efficiently and professionally as well. They were a little slow opening the office first thing in the morning, but everything else – including the all-​important blood draw – was painless.
If there is a shortcoming, the reports from LabCorp leave a lot to be desired compared to their equivalents from CPL. Sure, they communicate all the basic information, but they aren’t as clear, friendly, and organized as the CPL reports. The reports more look like a hastily done school programming project pressed into service than a professional lab report.
Would I go back? Sure, if I had to. My plan administrator is now copacetic with CPL, so I have a choice. CPL has the advantage of location, location, location in Austin, and, even with the longer wait times, they do the better job overall. But LabCorp will suffice in a pinch, and, at least the two times I visited, they weren’t the peckerheaded vampires others have made them out to be.

Slow doesn’t really describe this place, snails would find this pace lagging. I needed a pre employment drug screen. After signing in and sitting here for a half hour I am told that drug tests don’t start until one o’clock (it’s 10:30 A.M.). I see three signs that say they end at three. But not a single one stating that they don’t start until one.
I have only seen one employee so far, and the waiting room is full. The one employee doesn’t exactly give off a warm feeling when asked questions either.
I waited about another forty five minutes for them to squeeze me in. Which I was glad that I didn’t have to make a second trip, but sitting in a waiting room having to pee for over an hour isn’t exactly my idea of a great time. It takes me all of five minutes to fill out the paper work, piss in a cup, and find out that I’m not high. By then I had met the second employee and he didn’t seem any friendlier then the first one.
I assume that part of the reason the staff is surly is that they appear to be over booked and understaffed. I would assume the corp that runs this place gets ninety percent of its business from from people who can’t (for whatever reason.) go someplace else. So they are packed in and rushed through.
I also got to see and old man throw a fit at the receptionist. She didn’t even bat an eye, so I would guess she is used to people shouting at her.

Small, crowded, zero customer service.
Went to Labcorp for routine blood test as part of my annual physical. My primary care physician had faxed in my lab request and followed to verify it was received.
I show up the next morning and no request. What’s worse, when I arrived the girl working the counter rudely told me to «wait a few minutes» while she checked. her attitude conveyed that I was interrupting something else very important she had to attend to.
I called my doctor’s office and they said they’d verify the fax number and send another request. later in the day they called back saying Labcorp wouldn’t answer their phone — it just rang and rang.
Eventually i gave up and went to a more professional lab and paid teh out of pocket expense rather than deal with this outfit.
Labcorp strikes me as one of those companies that’s geared towards delivering service to people with no other option (i.e. Medicare/​Medicaid, etc). They act as if their «customers» have no other option and provide a «service» to match.

Had to drop in here to get a drug screening (urine test) for a job I’m hoping to get.
I dropped in at 11am. The receptionist, without even looking up, casually flip a clipboard in front of me and told me to sign in, and then looking up and seeing my paperwork snags the clipboard out of my hands and growls ‘We don’t do drug testing before 1pm.‘
Okay.
I go out to my truck, go over my paperwork, and no where does it say that I had to wait until 1pm. *shrugs*
I go to lunch with my sweetie, then wander back in to the place at 2pm. As I walk in, I look at all the signs posted everywhere and I don’t see anything saying drug tests after 1pm. I sign in… a few minutes later I get called back for my test, and then its done.
No real drama, but no real customer service either. And according to my soon to be new employer — they’ve never been told previous that tests weren’t done until 1pm. Guess its a new policy, one they could have posted.
