Excellent service and pricing. Went in for a basic eye exam to update my lenses for new frames and was examined by Dr. Weeden. Great guy and very friendly. Didnt feel like i was being rushed and was thorough. The receptionists upfront were very friendly and prompt. I didnt feel pressured to buy anything or upgrade etc which is good since i really dislike that and just needed the prescription. I highly recommend.

The old adage, ‘you get what you pay for’ remains true. New patient — Self-pay — routine eye exam for updating RX. Dr Wang quick and efficient. Nothing special … but nothing to complain about. however, the staff is lethargic, seem to have a low opinion of who they serve, and unprofessional. i obtained a basic pair at the initial visit and returned a few weeks later to purchase a better quality(more expensive) frame so i could change lenses as needed. i stood around for quite some time(though there were six staff members behind what appeared to be a 80 square foot space. Eventually, i asked if someone could help me because i already knew which frames i wanted to purchase, i was given the once over and asked for a Driver’s License they could hold on to while i tried on the frames!!! i gulped past the shock … because the message was clear — these folks have a very low opinion of their Customer or Client base. perhaps their opinion of their Client base commensurate their marketing push of ‘low cost’ !! after getting past the shock, i thought i would continue. but the attitude was rife and i decided that i will purchase my frames and new prescription elsewhere — a place that appreciates that the notion of ‘cheap’ doesn’t mean your Customers are thieves or not able to afford good quality care or frames..

Nice staff. I’m always afraid to go get my prescription updated because sometimes they don’t get it right in other places but this went very well. First time coming here. I was a walk in and they took me between patients. Nice doctor ! Patient and friendly

I have been seeing for 10+ years. He is a great optometrist but needs to pay more attention on how he is running his business . I called a 10am to schedule an appointment but the receptionist wouldn’t schedule me until she confirm my insurance(when they had already confirmed it a week ago, as well been client for over a decade). I called back at 3pm and they still hadn’t confirm. I finally heard back at 5pm that my was insurance was authorize but I was put on hold to schedule my appointment. I ended up hanging up and schedule an appointment with someone else in 5 minutes! Not 8 hours like . This just proves their poor customer service.

Li Wang totally stressed my eyes with excessively bright lights and images that were totally out of focus. I knew the prescription was wrong. I asked for street, TV and computer glasses. He would only give me a street prescription and it was mostly illegible. This was a 1 star experience but I give this guy 3 stars because I’m pretty sure he just didn’t like me. I must have said something to offend him for an optometrist to behave that badly. I finally went to Dr. Robert Ramp at the optical store at Walmart at Mopac and Hwy 290. He gave me all 3 prescriptions at the same time and they were all absolutely perfect. Dr. Ramp is pleasant to work with and he is a perfectionist.

This is the way all visits should be. Dr. Wang was incredibly friendly, reasonable, and intelligent. I wish all doctor visits would function this way. I walked into the less than stellar looking establishment and asked for an appointment opening later in the day. I drove back, waited 5 minutes. Was taken back into the exam room. My eyes were looked at, they ran a few tests, and then I walked out with the prescription. By the book and well done. Affordable and awesome.

I’ve never been to NYC, but I’d imagine this optometry office would be the alleyway equivalent of an LV purse operation there. But that’s just appearances, Dr. Wang is legit. I arrived ten minutes early and by the time I was done filling out paperwork, the doctor was ready to see me. He looked very familiar to me, but I couldn’t figure out the connection. He is very thorough, asks lots of questions, and did lots of tests I had never had done on my eyeballs before. I appreciated this. I was in for a combo contacts/glasses exam(at $ 79 the cheapest deal in town) but explained that I rarely wore the contacts because they weren’t ever comfortable. He explained the multiple reasons why I may have had trouble or given up on contacts in the past and gave me a few remedies I could work on myself to help with those problems. At the end of the exam, he’d fitted me in a couple of different dailies he wanted me to try. As a final test, he handed me a ruler and asked me to look at it and then held two lenses in front of my eyes and asked me to look again and tell him what I thought. I thought this was some sort of trick since I was already wearing the corrective contacts. He asked, ‘Looks sharper, right? Do you know what these are,’ he asked gesturing at the lenses. I put two and two together and sadly exclaimed, ‘Reading glasses?!?‘ He laughed, only slightly. And responded, ‘An occupational tool.’ I was not mollified. ‘If you were a construction worker you would wear a belt for lumbar support right?’ The man made sense, and I only sort of swallowed my pride as he handed me the post-it that read ‘+1.’ To soften the blow he added, ‘It’s the lowest magnification.’ I scheduled my follow-up, grabbed my free sunglasses and walked out. In the car it hit me, ‘Dr. Wang is like Martin Yan — the Yan of the eye world!’ This did please me greatly.

So you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. As soon as I walked in, I felt as if this place was kind of just thrown together. It was pretty busy for 3:30 on a weekday. I had chosen to see Dr. Wang himself based on the Unilocal reviews(the good ones of course). When I walked back for my pre — test I felt like I was back in the storage area. When I was pulled back to the office/exam room, I felt like I was in a built in storage closet in the storage room. All this said and done… Dr. Wang was very professional. He was very thorough in his exam and explained every test he was doing and why he was doing it. He taught me little tips about contact care that no other optometrist has told me over the 17 years I’ve been wearing contacts. His eye testing equipment seemed more advanced than my last optometrist. My last one still had to sit beside me and flip the 1 or 2’s and the 3 or 4’s by hand. Upon leaving he told me to give it a week and follow up if necessary. I’m already a fan of acuvue but if you buy 2 boxes that same day he offers a discount. I followed up after a week(no extra cost — I think up to 2 mos worth follow up is what I signed on the paperwork) and he strengthened my rx. Since I didn’t open my original boxes he exchanged them even cost. Key is just don’t open them ;) He told me try again for a week and if not happy, come back in. Side note — astigmatisms add $ 10 extra. Pretty good service I must say. Oh yeah… cheapest contact exam for those without insurance too.

This is the worst optometry I’ve ever visited. EVER. I can’t believe it even has 4 ½ stars. The first time I tried to make an appointment here, they said they will call me back to schedule and they did six hours later… by that time, I already made an appointment somewhere else b/c I thought they just forgot to call me back. The second time I tried to purchase contacts here b/c no effing optometry in freaking Austin stocks up on contact lenses except this place. I walk into this place and it’s empty, but they have 4 – 5 employees milling around. They told me to write my name down and they will help me– I told them I was just here to purchase contacts. After 15 – 20 minutes go by, I go up to the receptionist and said, I don’t know what’s taking so long when I’m just here to buy contacts. And my name has been crossed off the list and I haven’t been helped. Realizing their mistake, they said, sure, we can help you now. I tell them I have a digital copy of my prescription for them to see. They said, no it has to be printed and I said, cant you just print it here, but NOPE. They don’t have this capability. Are you serious? There is a printer right behind you and you can’t PRINT? Are you telling me this business doesn’t even have an email address? I hate the fact that I have to come back here b/c I have to get these damn contacts by the end of this week, but seriously… never again. I rather pay the big bucks for great service than come to this place. I seriously don’t understand why they are so highly reviewed.
