We live fairly close to Longview Park and a friend recommended it, so my husband and I drove by to see if we thought it would be a fun place to take our kids(two year old twins who LOVE parks). As we drove through the u-shaped parking lot, we had to stop twice for a large group of dogs running and playing into the road. Oddly enough, their owners were all standing right next to a sign that says, «All Pets On Leashes.» They were about 50 feet from the playscape, so I don’t know that it would interfere with my kids’ playing, but if they wanted to run in the big open field the other reviews mentioned, they’d have to get past a pack of dogs, most of which were bigger than either of my children. We will probably pick a different park.

This really is a great neighborhood park. It has a great open field for sports, throwing your dog a ball, whatever. It has generally clean bathrooms, a small playground and another open field up the short hill. The gem of Longview Park is the Stephenson Preserve that you can enter from the paved path, or from several entry points around the big field. It has several miles of walking/biking trails with various wood & metal art installations throughout. The trails are a mixture of open grass fields, singletrack and wooded/shaded areas. Great place to explore with the kids also.

A simple neighborhood park. Mostly open field but includes a bathroom and kids swings and slides
