Just passing thru Austin going to visit someone in Round Rock and wanted Breakfast so this place was in a shopping area and decided to give it a try. I tried to order a potato & egg taco and I was told it was going to be a tater tot. That they do not have those kind of potatoes. Also the price was too much and flour tortillas were store brought. Last was the price. Too expensive. Should of just gone to McDonalds next door.

I should of Unilocaled this place before going in! I came into this place with a group of 9 and at first we felt so uncomfortable because we got stared down for being so much people. THEYTOOKFOREVERTOCOMEAROUNDANDGIVEUS A MENU. Once we got our menus everything seemed so over priced. I ordered a carne asada burrito which cost around almost 9 dollars and the burrito was mostly made of arroz blanco it probably had like 1 spoon full of actual meat on it and it was so bland like I had to smother my burrito with their salsa verde to get some what of a flavor. Service was also not that great, they kept taking forever to get us things we asked for. I won’t be coming back to this place at all. Come to this place at your own risk because it’s not that great.

I give this restaurant a 1 Star for having staff that are completely oblivious to good customer service. My wife ordered a tilapia filet that tasted days old and smelled spoiled. The cook tried to cover it up with spices and by over cooking it. My wife told the waiter and requested that she be served extra rice instead. The waiter took the plate back to the kitchen, came back to our table, and told us that the«chef» had tasted it and it was fine. He didn’t bring the plate back to the table. What the fuck?!! Instead of asking the customer what else could be done to make things right, she was treated like a nuisance and her plate was taken away. And the waiter still charged us for the plate! Other take aways: — place is loud on Saturdays — ceviche is made Veracruz, Mexico style. It’s sweeter than Peruvian style. And the ingredients didn’t taste fresh. — Parking lot had a used baby diaper on the ground which we ran over with our car. DISGUSTING!

We had a wonderful experience here! It was right before lunch, received excellent service, and the food was unexpectedly better than we had anywhere before. Fresh and tasty. No condiments needed. The Aztec Soup looked like a tortilla soup with its tomato based, shredded chicken, tortilla strips, and cheese. But the broth is very flavorful and surprisingly with different spices. The torta was simple. the cheese/chorizo omelet in it, was tasty. Balanced with fresh tomato, lettuce and avocado. Oh and it came with a tangy creamy tomatillo jalapeño sauce. The salad was good. We asked to mix up tuna and shrimp and then to get an extra plate so we can share. The waitress came back with two beautifully plates, as they split up the salad on two plates. Excellent service! We will definitely come back to try out the gorgeous fish plate that was ordered at a different table.

These other reviews are crazy. Tacos were very flavorful. I had the al pastor and fajita tacos and they were some of the best I’ve had. My wife enjoyed the octopus ceviche. Service was a bit slow but understandable as there was only one waitress for lunch. Overall, I wish I had found this place years ago!

I guess most people go here for the taquitos a la carte because I went there for dinner and the prices were surprising for entrees. This place is not even close to fancy feeling, but the dinner entrees are all upwards of $ 15+ dollars. Jarochos mostly serves seafood, and I’ll admit that it was an interesting, eclectic menu. I didn’t feel like any Jarochos seafood offerings looked tasty. I opted to try the Alambres Mexicanos, which is essentially beef fajita, peppers, onion, bacon, cheese and sauce. I read these ingredients on the menu before I ordered the dish. I’ve ordered this from other restaurants and it’s delicious. However, I was served the dish and it had no bacon in it. It still tasted pretty good, but when I order a $ 15 dollar dish, I expect it to have everything it says in the menu. So I bring this to the attention of one of the waiters, or maybe he was a manager — I have no idea. He was in civilian clothes, but seemed to be walking around like he owned the place. Our waitress was running around helping other customers most of the time. Both of them spoke zero English, and they were the only ones working in the front. My Spanish is severely lacking, so I tried my best by asking donde esta el tocino?(where is the bacon?) He proceeded to tell me that there were two different types of alambres — a cheaper one and a more expensive one that includes bacon. I assured him that I ordered the more expensive one, the one that actually listed bacon on the menu, but he told me that I didn’t. Okay then, I expect to pay for the cheaper alambres after I had finished my meal. Nope. They charged me for the $ 15 plate. At that point, I just let it go, since we had talked about it for 5 minutes previously and I couldn’t express myself well enough to argue about it. It clearly said bacon in English on the menu when I ordered it. I thought about pointing that out, but the two employees didn’t speak any English so I dropped it. Won’t be back. I give it two stars because the food was at least tasty.

Horrible. Chips and salsa were ok, but that was the best thing about it. There were 3 people in our party and there was only one other customer when we got there, and it took us 15 min just to get our drinks, then took forever to get our food. All the meat was cooked to death, the waitress didn’t speak English and it she only came by our table 3 times the whole visit. Plus, she gave us the lunch special menu, then charged us more because we ordered 5 minutes before 11, and we didn’t even get our food for 20 minutes. One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had.

This place is a hidden gem. Don’t let the front fool you, this place puts out some great food. We had the torta cubana, cazuela jarocha, and the filete relleno de mariscos… all we delicious, well cooked, and fresh tasting. We will be back.

Just not a good place. The servers were good and were attentive, but the food was just awful. My wife had the steak and it was overlooked to the point that it was leathery. I had the Shrimp and you could tell they were using powdered garlic and it was way too salty. Which was a shame since the shrimp was cooked perfectly. I had to knock each shrimp on the side of my plate to remove as much sauce as I could to eat it. It was almost like we were on some practical joke show. Unbelievable. We won’t be back.

Picked up our lunch earlier: ceviche, enchiladas rojas, enchiladas verdes. The ceviche had way too many onions, not enough flavor(I gave it away). The enchiladas rojas were light in color; the sauce was way too salty; beans were good though; interestingly no rice was included, maybe because it was a lunch plate but I’ve had lunch at other Mexican restaurants and they’ve always served arroz. The enchiladas verdes were way too dry, they were light in color also, sauce was ok. When I paid, as the girl at the register was handing me my change back, she said: I’m out of coins, I’ll have to owe you. I said OHHkay, can I have my receipt? She gave it to me and it was only 30 cents she«owed me.» We took a seat and waited a decent amount for our to-go order. PS How would she«owe me» change? Am I supposed to go back for my 30 cents? LOL Most likely will not return for reasons stated above(how could they be out of change at 12pm? it was not busy at all) I’ll stick to my mom’s homemade Mexican food or Amayas or Casa Garcia’s :)

The chips and salsa were not good, and the iced tea tastes like I was burnt. What? As I was sitting and waiting for my food, a group of three guys come in and sit at a table. The weird thing was that they brought in a 6pack of bud light. Not to mention it wasn’t even noon yet, it was just something I hadn’t seen before. There was definitely not a byob sign outside.

This place was absolutely terrible. Horrible service and inedible food. They told me they were«out of beef» when I asked for the beef enchiladas. I then asked if I could get a mix of chicken and cheese and was told that they all had to be the same. Once they came out it was clear why: They used frozen enchiladas that came in packs of three. So they weren’t out of «beef» they were out of the beef enchilada packs. And that’s why they can’t mix different kinds the way every other Mexican restaurant can. They tasted frozen too. And no rice? What mexican restaurant doesn’t serve rice? After I got my check, paid and left this place I ended up going to Taco Cabana and and got enchiladas there for half the price that were *way* better. And they even let me mix beef chicken and cheese! To top off the lousy food and service, the waitress brings me the bill in one of the standard bill sleeves that says«American Express» right across the front. When I put my American Express card in she comes back and tells me they don’t take American Express… Are you serious? The chips and salsa were also terrible. That’s usually the first sign.

We stopped in here today for some tacos for lunch. I have to agree with a lot the others reviewer said, but not the thing about there being so spice or flavor. The restaurant is small and looks like a take out place but we told to take a seat and a waitress came to serve us. The TVs were so loud we could barely hear a word she said to us though. The chips and salsa came out and the chips were hot and the salsa hotter — but fresh and tasty. My husband said he’d give him tacos pastor 4 stars but agrees with me 3 star overall rating based on the noise and the fact that my chicken tacos were a bit dry and so spicy I couldn’t finish them. It’s possible I got the ‘spicy chicken’ taco instead of the ‘chicken’ taco because the waitress couldn’t hear me over the TV either. Overall, I’d say get take out tacos — pork not chicken — and eat them in peace in your car or back at home.

As per other reviews… ech. Not impressed. Waitress really tried but the food was just lacking any spice or flavor. Tostada chips were actually good and seemed to be made in house. I would bet a dollar to a donut the beans came from a CAN. Chilequiles were bland and hardly any sauce. Partners green enchiladas, while not bad were basically lacking of any imagination or flavor. If you can’t get a basic chicken enchilada to be something more than edible, then you’re probably got other issues.

Been awhile since this has happened… Just noticed this place last week stopping at Home Depot… Place looks great inside, But Looks aren’t everything. Lets Begin. First Telenovelas was Blasting on the Very Nice Large screen TV… and the waitresses were glued to it. One eating lunch no more then 5 feet away. Really…This isnt your personal Living Room. You dont come to work to watch TV… Looking at the Menu was pure $$$ shock. Wow…but hey they have a lunch menu for a better price. So we order… A little hint for the wait staff… Pen and Paper so you don’t have ask me over and over what I ordered… Dont try to impress me with you lack of memory retention…5 minutes after I ordered, she came back to confirm my order. Really…Even after the order was placed, our waitress was right back to the TV. No Queso?.. Well they did have a Chorizo/Queso for 8.50…Not a chance… Chips were alright… Salsa was NOT fresh made salsa… Can tomato flavor was prevalent, a little heat and cilantro. not good at all… Both went with the Chiladas. Wife Beef with red sauce on the side, Me… Chicken with green sauce… this is where is get confusing. NO rice? A First for us… Ever…Plates arrive(Please see Photos) and we were in disbelief… Mine was OK looking, but the wifes was a shamble. somewhere in there is 3 enchiladas, beef that is. and it had a very odd flavor. and the sauce was overly sweet. A no go for the wife… The chicken in mine was breast meat, moist, but zero flavor… Green sauce was weak and the Beans were either canned or left overs from yesterday… Thick and pasty… I have had canned that tasted better… Not even gonna mention the«Salad» on the side. Lets talk $$$.Both of our meals were $ 5.99 on the lunch menu… ordering the same thing«OFF» the lunch menu. You get one more enchilada and maybe Rice, but the price Jumped to $ 9.50…By far the most overpriced place we have been to for the quality of the food coming from the kitchen. Been A Very Long time since we traveled this path… Number 65 on the quest for the Best… Epic Fail. You have been warned.2 days later… were still paying the price.

I don’t think the cook here is even Mexican. The fajita tasted like teriyaki stir fry. The salsa was ok… The rice was white?!? 2 stars for the cute waitress! Much better places…

The waitress talk really low, I could hardly hear her, they had crapy tv shows on like the shopping Chanel lol I didn’t mind but my husband was watching a game and got changed out of nowhere, we were the only ppl there. The salsa had no flavor it was watery the chips were hot but had no taste either and got a small basket for 4 ppl and didn’t get anymore during the stay. The food was good but the land sea fajita we got for 2 ppl was only accompanied by tortillas, no rice no beans, no lime lettuce cheese, and no PLATES! My daughter had a hot dog and fries, fries didn’t have any salt the hot dog smelled a little weird, so my husband says, I couldn’t smell anything. All in all service sucked food was pricy but good, may not go again.

Interesting place. I went for lunch and had the mole special and it was really really good. I would suggest going at lunch because their prices are cheaper. The décor reminds me of a sushi restaurant but trust me, its a mexican food place. When I went, it wasn’t too crowded and the service was good. All in all, it’s worth a try, the mole is good.

Me gustaría volver y probar algo diferente.

I had three tacos. I figure the best way to judge a truly Mexican restaurant is in the form of tacos! So I asked for three of them. One being chicken, other being beef, and lastly pastor style. The end result is that this was nowhere 100% Mexican as they advertised. Yes they give the option for soft corn tortillas. The chicken was good, the beef tasted weird had better some other places. El pastor was nowhere close to real Mexican al pastor style. For drink I asked for lemonade. Several Mexican places will really give you fresh water lemonade but I got pink lemonade which tasted horribly after the chips with salsa. My girlfriend did enjoyed her tostada and Aztec soup was well served. For the amount of food the cost is ok.

«Meh» is about all I can say. The salsa was thin and watery — to the point of not being worth the hassle. The menu is not gringo-friendly, so if you don’t know at least a little Spanish, you won’t know what half the items are. I ordered sopes, which were pretty good, though expensive for what it was. The service was awkward at best — particularly them not having any cash on hand to make change. They’re a new restaurant, so it’s possible that they just need some time to figure out what they’re doing. I’ll go back in a few months and see if things have improved.
