Lowe’s

I just made my last trip to Lowes… Home Depot from now on…
I don’t know how to do anything and every time I go to Lowe’s, there’s nobody to help me… I went to Home Depot and they were all over me to help… No more Lowes for me…

Me: (standing at the one check out lane with a light for 3 – 5 minutes without being acknowledged)
Head cashier: (without acknowledging my existence) Don’t tell me when you get off, I’ve still got another few hours (to another employee)
Me: Is anyone working the register?
Head cashier: The light is on, isn’t it.
God I hate Lowes.

OK. Considering I’m the Duke. Err, Duchess. Oh whatever it is you wanna call me, hell, you can call me Nancy!, it’s probably about time I give y’all my two cents.
Is it true there’s a private cot with my name on it in this location? Perhaps. But what’s really important is my ability to find a good number of new homeowner necessities right around the corner from our house… conveniently located and I get to deal with some pleasant folks who work there.
Returns or exchanges are made easy. If you have the card you used to purchase it, you don’t even need a receipt. One of my favorite policies.

I looked online before I came to the store to make sure you had the item. When I got to the store, I was not approached for about 15 minutes to see if I needed any help. Then the guy that asked me if I needed any help was almost deliberately unhelpful. He told me he thought they had my product somewhere but didn’t know where it was. He suggested something else but it wasn’t quite what I needed. He disappeared and I thought he was going to another aisle to look.
When he didn’t come back, I called store customer service on my cell phone to ask if they had the item. Since I didn’t have an item number for Concrobium mold remover, she transferred me to Paint (which was one aisle away from where I had been looking in household products). As the phone just rang and rang, I walked over to paint since I now had a clue what department to find it in. There was the guy who left me, with two other workers standing at the paint counter chatting and no customers being helped. Still no one was picking up the phone as it rang and rang. I searched the aisles and found the product I was looking for.
As I headed for the registers, I saw «Steve» I believe his name was, a shorter middle aged guy. I showed him the bottle and told him I found it. He thanked me for telling him. I wish I could’ve thanked him for doing his job instead. When I checked out at customer service (the same woman I had spoken with on the phone) she seemed neither surprised nor concerned and gave a very half-​hearted apology for the lack of help I had received.
The spectacular apathy I have experienced more than once at Lowe’s will encourage me to go to Home Depot from now on…

I judge a big box location mainly by it’s staff. This place rocks. I’ve never been here where the staff isn’t fantastic. I really love this place and will continue to try to do as much of my business with them as I can.

After 4 months of use, my brand new washer machine broke down. Lowe’s told me it would take a month to get a repair tech out to fix it. In their favor, they delivered a loaner 2 days later after 2 hours of me being on the phone with them and Whirlpool. Whirlpool sent a tech out about a week later and fixed it in less than an hour. I called Lowe’s to come pick up the loaner and the man who answered said he’d call me back, but never did. I called back about 2 days later and was given the run around again as well as a lot of attitude from the woman «helping» me. My fiancé teases me about being too nice, but this set my teeth grinding. It shouldn’t be so difficult for me to give back your machine!

Special ordered a toilet. Had a professional licensed plumber install it only to find that the flush valve and tank are defective. Spoke several times to store manager Bruce and got a new tank ordered (he kept trying to get me to accept a replacement from the store as opposed to the exact one I special ordered). It finally arrived and they will not waive delivery charges to deliver it to my home – they have greatly inconvenienced me as my toilet (thank goodness I have another functioning one) has now been out-​of-​service for nearly two weeks. Now they are inconveniencing me additionally as I either have to pick it up (I have a small car by the way) or my plumber will charge me to pick it up. I will NEVER shop or order ANYTHING at Lowe’s again and I will tell my family, friends and colleagues in the Austin, Round Rock, Houston, San Antonio, and DFW areas of this shoddy irresponsible unprofessional service.

The people inside the store are very helpful and I know I will get all the help I need with whatever I’m searching for.
BUT, I had a window installed by Lowe’s and the caulk separated from the window. It took 7 calls to get them to come out again (remember it is just caulking we are talking about — 10 minutes of work max). When they finally came out they used some very sticky & gummy caulk that has separated again. It also has grass stuck to it and comes off on my fingers.

Went to get some plants from the garden center and Monique rocked our world! She is funny, caring and engaging in all aspects of her job! I can only hope that all employees are like her!

Appliance guy helped us pick a washer&dryer. His name’s Aaron and he really knows what he’s talking about without being pushy — I like that these people don’t work commission so when they recommend something it’s a real opinion and not just some spiff they’re trying to get:)

There’s always tons of employees in this store, so I’m never at a loss when it comes to customer service. It’s clean, well stocked, organized, and easy to maneuver. It’s also about 2 miles from my house, which makes it incredibly convenient when I need to repair yet another thing in my home.

I forgot about Lowes, just always went to Home Depot.
It seems like everything I go into Lowes, the staff is friendly and very helpful and they don’t make me feel stupid because I don’t know much about repairing things

Always been a fan of this Lowes… the checker in the garden center is really friendly.

We came here to get a lawn mower. We wanted one that ran on a battery as we couldn’t hang with the stinky gas or the risk of my husband possibly mowing over a cord. (:
We had previously ordered a battery operated lawn mower from
but our order had been delayed and delayed and our lawn was getting long enough that a medium size dog would get lost. We looked at other stores and they either didn’t have battery operated lawn mowers or they had ones that were too expensive.
When we were in the gardening section the manager came over and asked if he could help us. He was very nice. We told him we needed a battery operated mower but that the only one they had was a little more than what we wanted to pay. He said hold on, went and looked something up and came back and offered it to us at a $ 50 discount! I didn’t know big chain stores would make a deal with you like that but we were very pleased. That really made our weekend!

I’ve been to a couple of Home Depots and such.
Lowe’s by far has the friendliest and most helpful employees. Yay!
