A friend and I spent a good hour here searching for costuming for an 80s Gala. Thanks to Nathan, I immediately found part of my outfit: a snazzy black velvet jacket with white trim and shoulder pads a la Linda Evans in Dynasty. Then, moving into the accessories room, I began searching for a wig. Oh dear. So many to choose from. Bless his little heart, Andrew pulled out every style, color, texture and length wig he could find. I was about to give up when we hit on a winner. A Red wig! It will be perfect and I do think I will rock it out on the town some night.

What a cool place! The staff was all reall friendly and the store is stocked with absolutely everything you would ever need for any costume or type of dress-up, including props, wigs, and accessories. I’m from out if town and just dropped in as part of my shopping experience on South Congress, but had a blast browsing the costume jewelry and the sales girl was super patient and helpful. Best of all, the prices are inexpensive — a breath of fresh air compared to the rest of the street!

Awesome store great selection just a little over priced(for something that should have been $ 5 it was $ 17) but other than that they have a huge selection they had exactly what I needed but just to overpriced

Everything smells like sweat and mold. This place needs to be shut down by the CDC. Maybe the masks in the boxes are new, but all the rentals are disgusting.

TIP: They’re open until 9PM during the month of October. Quintessential Austin. They have so many things here! Wigs, masks, dresses, etc in every style. It’s easy to see how a place like this stays open year round, well with it’s infinite collection of costumes for all occasions(renaissance, mardi gras, rodeo, st pattys, etc). Always my first stop when looking for costumes.

This place has been one of my favorite spots in Austin since I move here in 2005. The staff is friendly and helpful. And the costume and prop options are endless! Great rental rates too.

They cram a lot of schtuff into a small space. Lucy has just about whatever you need to rent or buy. The prices are really high. If you’re like me and you want a gigantic black beard for no reason, they have it but it’ll be $ 30.

Friendly staff, large selection, rent/own pricing. All in all, a great store.

Incredible selection: they told me they have 300 – 400 suppliers and go to garage sales, auctions, etc. to salvage truly rare weird finds. Looking at the store, I definitely believe them! All sales are final but they have rental options! Very friendly staff, and an amazing selection. You’ll find both your stock cat costume here as well as realistic furry animal heads, feather wear, corsets, and so much more. Really awesome curation of items across all categories: jewelry(from hand-covering flower rings to small pearlies), costumes, wigs(!!), accessories, and so forth.

A very fun store on Congress, of course. The staff is what does it for me here — they are eager to help and know the store inside and out. They don’t hesitate to pass you off on someone else if that person has more knowledge about the items you are seeking. It is a large store with a large selection. They have very little in the plus-sizes though, so bear that in mind. I have yet to actually find anything to purchase here, clothing-wise. They have a large selection of costume jewelry as well, which could take hours and hours to pour over. They have stash behind the counter in little baggies, too, which is more reasonably priced. What kills me about this place, though, is the pricing. It is so expensive for what you are getting. I know it’s the location and all, but damn. I just don’t actually buy stuff here.

Lucy’s is awesome and they have everything. I mean everything. The latest: black beret? Got it. Pretty cheap, too. They have every costume you could possibly want, and every kind of accessory for one as well. You won’t believe the stuff(Cue Bernadette Peters whining: «…all the stuff!!!»). Anyway, I’ve been there a couple dozen or so times in my 20 years in Austin, and they always have whatever bizarre thing I’m looking for. Admiral Ackbar mask? Check. This is where you go to find Halloween stuff during months that aren’t October.

Fantastic, fabulous, flirty, fun for everyone! It doesn’t matter if you’re searching for a 50s poodle skirt, to dress like chew baca, or to find an ugly sweater for your infamous holiday Christmas party, they have EVERYTHING you could imagine. Leggings, earrings, masks, heels, boots, wipes, chains, wigs, tiaras the list is endless! Hard to believe that it still can be packed even when it’s December! That being said, September & October are nuts there! So if you’re looking for a Halloween costume, go in July, if not sooner!(Though you would have to rent for that whole time period which I guess would kinda stink). Some of the accessories can be purchased & I believe you could purchase a costume over renting it if you wanted to. Either way, it has the BEST selection of costumes & accessories that I’ve ever seen.

LOVETHISPLACE. Need blood capsules in November? No problem. Need a boa for a burlesque performance? No problem. Need a period sword/knife/blade/weapon of choice for a costume? No problem. This place is huge and awesome, and more fun the more you explore it. It’s a definite go-to for any performers or partygoers.

My second time visiting that place and I am still happy! Nikki helped me and she was very, VERY patient.(And I require patience… trust me!) Found a cool funky metallic dress for my 70’s party this weekend and some kick ass boots!(All rental) Prices are great and if you decide to keep the costume you can!!!

Super cool place! Tons of jewelry, sunglasses, accessories, masks, and costumes. Most of the stuff has the option to rent. I went the day before Halloween and it was super duper crowded so I didn’t get to browse like I wanted to. Something to point out, is while it was so packed, customer service did not lack. Someone was at the front door to point people in the right direction and other employees helped me without making me feel rushed. Don’t waste your time running store to store last minute for your costume needs. This place is a one stop shop and has it all. As for parking, there is no dedicated lot as this place is right in the middle of SoCo shopping.

This place has so many costumes! The staff was definitely eager to assist(I guess waiting for something to do). You can rent or buy the costumes. There are so many to sort through however! I was upset to see I couldn’t find a southern belle costume here sadly. They had a lot of nice Renaissance ones.

Need a costume? Lucy’s is your go to place in Austin! They have literally every kind of costume you could dream of! These costumes are unique and not like the stale, out-of-a-bag costumes you get from chain stores. These costumes are well made and are sure to hold up throughout any party! I rented a costume here several years ago and loved it! It was affordable and made for some fun memories!

Wow! This Lucy’s is impressive! If you’re into shopping for retro items or like looking at costumes be prepared to spend at least an hour in this joint. It took me 15 just to get past the front counter as I got distracted by all the kick-ass 80’s inspired earrings for sale(yup, had to buy the spiked pair — filling my inner Billy Idol coming out). Halloween, or playing dress-up for ANY other occasion — is one of my favorite things in the world! If you’re looking for«it» you WILL find«it» here. I’ve been to many such a shop and have never seen a selection like this before. From gory to whorry this is one stop shopping. They rent costumes and accessories(e.g., gowns, feather headdresses, masks, you name it) and sell new and used items(e.g., shoes, costume jewelry, hats, etc.). Oh, and the staff… SO nice… So helpful… SO patient — especially for a girl like me who often can’t make up her mind when there is SO much to choose from. Have fun! Tip: They start they’re Halloween specials in September, so go early. :)
