She knows her sh*t.
I got a full detail explanation on why I couldn’t go platinum and I was OK with it. She knows better than I do. I love my half-​assed ombré, lol.
This is the second time I trust her with my hair. The first time I saw her she did highlights on me and this was a long time ago (or so it seems). So long that my hair looked like an ombré but it was actually my roots showing :). Everyone would give me compliments about my highlights-​and I didn’t even took care of them! No special shampoo or frequent visits to the hair salon.
The second time I wanted an ombré. My hair is almost black and I wanted the ends a platinum color. She took time to explain why it wouldn’t work since half my hair was colored and the other half was not. I was sad but I told her I trusted her and if she could do the best she could so I wouldn’t end up with a yellow, brassy or orange color.
My hair turned out an awesome champagne color. Oh, I look SEXYYY!
I do realize that I have to keep up with the maintenance and I’m fine as long as she is the one processing my hair.
As far as the only crappy review you see here. Don’t even bother taking it into consideration. Some customer’s are just too needy, picky, etc etc.

Madelaine gave me the best haircut of my life. I just moved to Austin from Los Angeles and have had haircuts up to $ 400. However none were as good as the one she gave me. I wanted a blunt cut and she did exactly that, made my hair look healthy and fresh without taking too much off. I came back later for her to do my color and was beyond happy with the results. She made my stubborn dark brown hair bright and blonde. She is a gem in Austin!

She does an outstanding job! Every time I go see her, I am happier than the time before. People are always complimenting on my color and cut. I owe it all to her. She ROCKS and she LISTENS!
I def recommend her if you are looking for a hip hairdresser.

I saw Madeleine’s offer on groupon and purchased it because it was very close to where I lived and she got good reviews. Because my regular hair stylist is in Dallas and I desperately needed a cut, I thought I’d give her a shot.
She did not even wash my hair before cutting it, luckily my hair was still damp before coming there from my shower. As she was cutting my hair she made little to no effort to be friendly and make conversation and seemed irritated at the fact I had a groupon. If the usage of a groups upsets you, perhaps you shouldn’t advertise your business on there. After the cut was done, she did not even style my hair. The process only took about 15 minutes. Probably the worst experience I’ve had with any hairstylist.

I went to Madelaine for the first time this week. I am always nervous going to a stylist for the first time, but the minute I met Madelaine, I could tell she was experienced and knows what she is doing. I asked her to really «pump up the blonde» highlights in my hair and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I LOVE my hair color. I have been to two other stylists who were afaid to make me too blonde, so I left those salons unhappy. I want to be blonde! Madelaine wove blonde into my light brown hair and made my hair look really sun-​kissed and not brassy at all. She also cut my hair exactly how I wanted it — with long layers. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair. My husband, family and friends love my hair. I am a fan and have already scheduled my next appointment.

To start off, Madelaine is one word: AMAZING at hair. I really wanted to get my dyed hair permed and curled. I wanted it to be like Shakira’s hair. I went around to other salons, all of them telling me if I permed my hair it would all fall out because it had had color used on it. Nobody would agree to perm it. But Madelaine is super knowledgable and knew that there are different types of perm solutions out there and there’s specific ones you can use for color treated hair. She did a beautiful job on my hair and got it exactly like the picture I showed her. My curls are gorgeous and bouncy and not one strand of hair came off of me, and I looked for hair falling out really closely too. My hair is super normal and not even dry so whatever she did or used, it worked really well. She was extremely patient even though my hair is so long and thick and took almost 3 hours just wrapping tiny pieces of hair in perm rollers. She gave me really good tips later on how to manage my new curly do. And she herself also has awesome hair and that just shows that as a stylist she must be good. Totally recommend and will definitely be back for other services in the future. Just go to her if you want your hair to be awesome. Plus you’ll be listening to some pretty cool music from her if the mainstream stuff in the salon isn’t playing.

Madelaine is truly a one of a kind artist. After going to a salon and the same hair-​stylist for over 17 years of «almost but not really hair styles» and colors… I branched out and took a chance on Madelaine. I am so happy I did… I did not know her — had not heard anything about her — I received a «Group On» coupon and held my breath. She is a perfectionist… and…TRULY LISTENS to what you want. She concentrates on the work you want created… if you want to talk… she will talk… however her main interest lies in creating a finished piece of art that will be pleasing to you.
I have lived a long time… had many hairstyles, colors… always trying to obtain the look and immediate gratification I am seeking for that particular moment, day, week… etc. I assure you… Madelaine is a magical gem… nestled in the her own quiet artist gallery at Russ & Co.

I went to Madelaine for the first time with a picture of how I wanted my hair cut. It is a pretty wild complicated style. She looked at the picture and confidently gave me the best hair cut I have ever had. No other stylist I’ve been to has been able to get it right. I will definitely be going back to her.

Madelaine is experienced and talented with color and her shears. I feel very lucky to have found a stylist that knows what I want and need.
I have had awkward conversations with other stylists and have been stuck listening to mind numbing music, but this woman knows style and music. While she cuts, colors, and brings life and luster to my long hair, we have easy conversation and Iisten to really good music.
I am very happy with my look and highly recommend her!

This is my first review of a hairstylist, mainly because I have a love-​hate relationship with each of them and I tend to move on quickly. I waited 4 – 5 days before reviewing because I was so shocked that it remained doable after the style had washed out. I absolutely love the way Madelaide washed, colored, cut and styled my long thick curly blonde hair. She did very subtle color on my «natural Hombre» and allowed it to blend carefully to my roots. I have very thick hair and was relieved to have it thinned out subtly with multiple layers. I plan on returning for color touch-​ups and trims, possibly a newer shorter cut for this spring!
