Love this school — the philosophy, the caring staff, and community spirit here cannot be beat.

Mainspring is the best of the best. Disclaimer that I don’t have kids here, but have served on the Board for the past 2 years. This is a very, very special school which makes a huge difference in our Austin community. Mainspring serves not just the child, but the whole family through education, services, and parenting classes. That doesn’t even begin to describe how they go above and beyond for their families all the time. And the whole school just has this great energy of learning, growth and community. 5 stars, no question.

Mainspring is really a special place.
There is a strong sense of community that comes from all areas — parents, teachers, staff and even the kids. The school and parents regularly organize after-​school and weekend activities for both social and educational purposes. Many of those activities include outside experts and are designed to teach parenting best practices. My wife and I have attended many of these sessions.
Those activities really underscore the staff’s commitment to the families at the school. They are involved and invested in every family’s well being, and every parent knows that they can go to the staff with questions and advice whenever needed. How many other pre-​schools have a dedicated family services director?
The kids are in great hands, too, of course. Our son has attended the school for the last two years, and every day he comes home with new words, knowledge, songs, dance moves and personality traits. And he loves being there — the school is like his second home due to caring teachers who pride themselves on impactful, activity-​based teaching. There is actually a curriculum, determined jointly by the teachers and a dedicated education director. The kids are clearly well prepared for kindergarten when they leave Mainspring.
The school also has a full-​time food director who prepares balanced, healthy, high-​quality meals and snacks for the kids throughout the day. The team has even helped prepare alternatives for our son, who has a milk allergy.
If you are looking for a pre-​school, we can’t recommend Mainspring highly enough. My wife and I – and our son — are thrilled to have found it.

Do not bring your children to this money hungry place. The administration is just trying to get money for your kids. The teachers are the only ones that are great about this place. They have fundraisers for this school, but the money seems to just disappear. There are two very small portables that aren’t big enough for anyone to feel sane in. They do not write incident reports so they stay be accredited. They office insists on writing ouchie notes. The office allows lice on the school for 5 years+. The office doesn’t take sick kids out of room with healthy kids. The administration is two faced.

I can’t say enough great things about this school — amazing teachers & staff, great curriculum, a mission to help the community. We were lucky to have our now-​4-​year-​old son start in April (after 2 years on the waiting list) and really love it. He’s excited about going to school every single day and is learning & experiencing so much more than the other daycares/​pre-​schools he’s attended (he’s been in full-​time care since he was 2 months old). Highly recommend!

Mainspring Schools is fantastic! I live about 30 minutes south of this school (there is a daycare on the same block that I live on) I go out of my way to get my daughter to Mainspring. Their staff is always helpful and friendly. My daughter has grown so much while attending this school. I have two older children that had attended other daycare’s/schools many years ago and I can not recall them retaining and enjoying learning like my youngest daughter learns currently at Mainsprings.
The Family Service Coordinator Jennifer– always has her door open and is there for families in struggling times and and good times. She runs the parent support group that meet once a week for 12 weeks. The group focuses on so many topics. We are able to share our weekly experiences and talk about how we can handle the situation in different ways. They also have a monthly parent supper dinner where they bring speakers from different fields. PBS KIDS, a Pediatric Sleep doctor, Speech Pathologist just to name a few speakers talk about ways that we can learn, understand and play with our kids. All the teachers are fantastic! Mainspring Schools is not just a school its a family!

My daughter has been attending Mainspring for 3 years now and we LOVE it! The teachers are amazing, the staff is incredibly accessible and caring. The facilities are fantastic. There are two great, natural, outdoor play-​areas. They get all kinds of enrichment activities from guest artists who come in weekly to teach music and dance to parent suppers with guest speakers. The school has more diversity than most and also has a real feeling of family and community. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Mainspring is an incredible school offering research-​based early childhood education for infants, toddler, and Pre-​K kiddos.
The teachers at Mainspring are top-​notch and the leadership at the school is truly visionary. They believe in caring for and educating the whole child, with an emphasis on social-​emotional learning.
The school has been around for 70+ years and was one of the first to be NAEYC accredited — the gold standard in child care.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about the school. They’re producing ‘graduates’ that will be the thinkers and leaders of tomorrow.
