Marquee Rents

I went with a friend to shop for linens for her upcoming wedding. Usually when you walk into a place of business you’re greeted in some way. «Hello, how can I help you?» That sort of thing. But here? NOTHING. We had to say «hi. Where do we look at the linens?» The lady at the front just points to the back. We were like hmm ok. So we start looking, expecting someone to come help us. Never happened. So we went to the front asking for prices. The lady at the front says «yeah it’s on the tag somewhere on there.» OK. Thanks. Real helpful. The lack of customer service was atrocious. That’s fine if you’re having a bad day — but don’t take it to work. Made a fun group bridal activity really depressing. These people need to take their bad attitudes home, and they need to adjust them. If I were the manager at this location, I would be ashamed of my employees. As bridesmaids, We’ll be suggesting that she take her business elsewhere.

I see some of the less than stellar reviews already on here but I can only review based on my experience with Marquee and it was so easy! I rented wine glasses, a table, and a lectern from them for my wedding and they were one of the few vendors I didn’t have to worry about. Always answered my questions, payment was easy, items were as described. A huge relief when planning a stressful wedding!

Tracie is and has been such a great help to me when ordering. I have ordered from Marquee several times for personal and also for business use with my catering company. Not only have they accommodated delivery when I have been running behind an unable to make it to their shop, but Tracie has been extremely helpful and patient as I have had to go back and forth on reservation items. She helped keep some of my costs down and was always quick on her responses, which I love! Thank you and keep up the good work!

I rented linens from them during their linen event (in Feb 2011) — which is a great event for those looking to save $ on rentals. Everything that day went smooth and I was really excited and looking forward to using their services. Fast forward to November 2011.
It was about the Tuesday before our wedding and so I called them to confirm what time I could pick up the linens that friday (they told me back in Feb that I could pick them up day before) and the lady on the other end of the phone said «we have you down for pick up today». I said «no, it’s to be Friday.» **Mind you their location is far north Austin and I live/​work way far south.**
She said (with a rude tone by the way) «we sent you a letter in the mail a few months ago letting you know we would be closed on friday”(it was the day after thanksgiving!) I had not received such letter. She then said they emailed me as well (which i never received an email). When I asked why they didn’t try calling me directly on my cell phone, she had no response.
I was able to find a way to get up North to pick them up that day, but had I not called to confirm and driven up there the day before my wedding just to find out they were closed when I was to pick up my linens I would have been FURIOUS!
I told the lady on the phone that I wasn’t upset, but it bothered me that they didn’t contact me directly she just said (again, in a rude tone) «well we have an emergency line so you would have received your order regardless.» That’s not the flipping point. I wasn’t upset until that point. She didn’t want to take any responsibility for someone at Marquee Rents dropping the ball.
Yes, I do understand that in the grand scheme of things it really wasn’t that big of deal because yes, I did make it up there that day and got my linens and the wedding was perfect, but the customer service at Marquee is/​was slacking and the lady I spoke with was just plain rude.
Funny part about this whole situation was the day before our wedding (3 days after my phone conversation) I get THE letter in the mail telling me their offices will be closed the day after thanksgiving and I can pick up my linens on Tuesday the 22^nd. hahaha! I guess the post office kept the letter they sent me «MONTHS» ago as a cruel joke and then conveniently delivered it to me the day before my wedding… ha! Marquee Rents. you can’t fool me.
I loved all of our vendors except for them! I would recommend NOT using Marquee Rents and going with one of the many other local rental companies instead.

Just got off the phone with Marquee and am sort of shocked by the rudeness. Ive rented from them twice in the past for my big parties. The lady was complaining bitterly about how busy they were! I asked if she would add more items to my order and she was annoyed and rushed.
When asked if she could deliver on Friday she replied «Absolutely NOT!»
Her attitude was that she was doing me a huge favor just by talking to me.
Yikes…she seemed less angry when focused on getting my credit card and getting my order prepaid.. At one point she actually said, «Go to the web site and figure things out exactly, then call me back !» (stop wasting my time)
I called another rental place on 183 and was treated like gold. All the info was explained and many cool ideas about my party were suggested.
AND they rent dance floors!!! They’re not the only game in town!
On the positive side, Marquee always has shown up exactly when promised and the workers do a super job assembling the dance floor. Very professional.
In addition, one of the other ladies on the phone… the younger one, seems quite normal and pleasant.

Generally fine. They missed a couple of items that were supposed to be delivered for our wedding. Our staffing company was able to cover for them, but Marquee still wanted to charge us for «losing» the items.

We’ve been a Marquee customer for many years. We keep coming back because its inventory, sales staff and on-​site labor are all top notch. They are always willing to go the extra mile to make your event perfect.

I have been working with Marquee since 2004 and have always received stellar service AND product. I am very much in to design so quality and variety is very important to me and Marquee has always gone above and beyond for all of our clients. If they don’t own it, they make it or will find it for you.
Our clients get to play in their showroom and see exactly what they will have on their wedding day! The new space and showroom our truly a designer’s playground.
Thank you Marquee for always being prompt, polite and professional! Everyone on staff from the front of house to the back are AMAZING to work with!

I have been using Marquee for my event rental needs for several years now. I like their friendly customer service and they have a great selection of high quality merchandise. I also think their installation staff is helpful and professional.

Bait and switch! Their website says you can rent a 12×12 dance floor for $ 270.00
When you call them to order it, it is $ 400 bucks.
$ 90 for delivery, you CAN NOT pickup at their warehouse, then plus TAX is still not $ 400 bucks.
I have not used them, but WILL NEVER as they do not list what the actual price of rentals are.

I’m wondering why my review was removed. There was absolutely nothing inappropriate in it – just a mediocre review.
