Dentist Martinez Vargas was the worst dental experience I ever had. I suspect if it was looked into he might not have a proper license. I reported him in fact to be investigated that was how bad he was.
I had early gum disease at the time and had no insurance. I picked him for a really stupid reason, I liked his name being Spanish. I had been in a rollover car wreck the year before and so my teeth had some superficial and not so superficial cracks because of that. His staff took an x-​ray and hung it from a screen. I felt he put on an excellent performance as an actor. He entered the room with a grave expression. He shook my hand said hello and then told me that my teeth were in terrible shape for someone my age. he also told me the 5 dollar co-​pay fee I gave him was going to be the best money I ever spent. What a weird thing to say!
He then pointed out the cracks in my teeth x-​rays and told me that I would need to spend over $ 10,000.00 in the next 2 years to fix my gum issues. I was so frightened I started crying. He asked me if I could afford that? I said if I have to I can maybe find the money. My fear shot up higher because where was I going to get that money. He also said I had to have surgery to peel the gums back and scrape the Gingivitis off. I hate surgery and this sounded horrible.
I left totally anxiety ridden.
I thought about him, his performance, his possible Wolf act oer the next few days and went to another dentist. That dentist who is my dentist to this day 15 years later told me know that they now treated the early gum disease with an antibiotic on the gum line in the office-​no surgery.
Dentist Vargas is a quack!

I dread going to this dentist! He is rude and makes me feel uncomfortable. Every time I have gone in he gets into an argument with me about removing the bar I have on my lower teeth after braces. Likewise, every time I go I have to tell him removing the bar is not up for discussion, but he persists. The front office makes no attempt to keep their patients with no reminders of appointments etc. I upgraded my dental insurance so I can now go to whoever I want.

I went here a few years back because my insurance is crappy and this was one of the only places in the area that I could get into. The office and exam rooms are dirty and run down. The receptionist could care less that I was there and it took a while to get into the actual exam room. The only reason that I’ll go with a two stars instead of one is the fact that they were willing to do a cleaning the day of the consultation. However, the cleaning was done with baking soda and water and did not feel like it was as thorough as it should have been. The dentist himself was nice enough however, was not very professional… last thing I need is a face full of chest hair when I’m getting my teeth cleaned. Needless to say, I haven’t been back.
