Maxey Glass

I have been using Maxey Glass for twenty years. They are very good and extremely honest. You will not find better people in the glass business.

Maxy is old school they are not going to kiss your ass, but they know glass. I have used them several times for my bars and they were reasonable and efficient. They replaced a mirror on a 120 year old oak bar and several tricky awning style casement windows. Cheers, Jim

Very disappointed by this company, terrible service, poor quality work on commercial storefront glass installed at my office, have the attitude of «well what can you do» when glass is late to arrive. I waited weeks for a simple sheet of ½″ glass and gave every excuse under the sun why it was late, then arrived damage, then never showed up another week and a half ater. At the end of weeks of waiting they gave up and refunded me as their solution. I think its time for this old school glass company to close its doors because i dont see how anyone would do repeat business with them.
P. S. I am the owner of Sarabi Studio, a high end custom furniture studio so i work with glass and other material suppliers all the time! My expectations were not unreasonable.

I called Maxey based on their Unilocal reviews to replace a cracked window in a house I manage. They went to the house, called me with a quote (reasonably priced), and I told them to do the job. After that, it was all down hill.
It took much longer than the time estimate given (5 – 7 days) to get the window installed. It took 2 – 3 phone calls before the installation was scheduled.
They finally called me, and told me that the window replacement was complete. I went to the house to inspect this and several other repairs before the next tenant moved in. The broken window was still there! I called Maxey, quite upset, and after a couple of hours, they called me back. They REPLACED THE WRONG WINDOW! Granted, the house was vacant. But they went out to measure for the order, and knew that it was to replace the broken window. When the installer went out, he replaced a totally different, non-​broken window on the other side of the house. Maxed ordered another glass pane, and the correct window was finally replaced (after another 2 weeks).
To add insult to injury, they sent me another bill, a month after they had been paid for the job. Apparently their accounting department has the same attention to detail as the installer.

I called Maxey Glass based on Unilocal Reviews, and they did indeed come lower than my other quotes.
Chris, our installation guy was friendly and thorough, leaving us with lots of sunshine through our sparkling clean new window. All in all — having your window broken sucks, but Maxey Glass makes getting it fixed easy!

Yep, I am on board with everyone else: this place is really fantastic!
I needed a very particular cut of glass, and called all over town to get quotes. $ 100, $ 125, $ 275! Then, I called Maxey Glass (the little old shop on 5^th Street with no website and not even a handful of Unilocal reviews), and the gentleman who actually answered the phone was not only incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, he spoke with me like we were old pals. So friendly, and personable. He quoted me at $ 50 and generally made the whole process all very simple, so I ordered right away. Less than twenty four hours later, I shook hands with the gentleman from the phone, who is also the one who personally cut my glass, and walked out of Maxey Glass as happy as can be. And, better yet, the glass piece fits perfectly!
It’s so satisfying to provide business to a company like this. The customer service is top-​notch, and the quality of product is equally matched.
If and when I have glass needs again in the future, I won’t be calling around for quotes.

We’ve got some old windows from the ’60’s that we’re trying to replace, and we went to Maxey’s for some help. Man, the guy really knew his stuff! He’s seen it all regarding windows. And his secretary was super helpful and pleasant as well.
We’ll definitely try and do business with him again.
