It’s now called Recycled Reads, the proceeds still benefit the Austin Public Library, and it’s on Burnet Road.

No longer there. It has been replaced by a library.

$ 5 for a box of books! The most amazing deal ever. Pavarotti’s My World, The Manny, a hardback websters dictionary, Secrets of Droon #18, Video Night in Kathmandu, and so many more. It was heaven. I’ll be back often. It was a great place to relax and spend a couple of hours.

Forget all the other used book shops in town — this is the true deal for spendthrift book lovers. You’ll find classic paperbacks, vintage hardbacks, CDs, DVDs, and even books so cheap you won’t feel bad cutting them up for découpage projects. Most everything sells for under $ 3, and Thursdays are 2-for-1.(A bookshop happy hour… only in Austin, folks!) Through their website, you can also order rare, used, and out-of-print books from the Friends of the Austin Public Library. But you better hurry, because when construction for the Twin Oaks library begins August 2007, this book store will be no more(at least at its current location).
