Monterone Canyon Creek

This place is BEAUTIFUL! I went on a tour here at these luxury apartments and I must say the staff member Alex was really great! She made you feel so welcome and I noticed that as residents came in to ask if they had any packages, she greeted them with a smile and by their first name. She was very informative during the tour and made sure to answer any questions you had. It really made me feel like management would be very friendly if living here.
The apartments were beautiful and the amenities are amazing! The space is a little small for what you’re paying but I believe it’s more of the amenities that you are paying for rather than the apartment itself. They have a clubhouse with a huge gym, dance room, dry sauna, beach sand volleyball, movie theater, pool tables, private grill area, two pools and a tennis court. In the apartment the bedrooms and closets were pretty big, the patio was reasonable size and the kitchen was very much up to date. The residents were very nice and greeted you as you walked by. This apartment community felt really safe and was in a beautiful location.
This place does work with past evictions on a case to case basis which tells me that they’re pretty understanding. I was really impressed with the 2 bed 2 bath and the customer service during the tour. I was definitely going to apply to live here until I heard horror stories from almost everyone about the traffic on 620. From the sound of almost everyone, it’s about an hour and a half commute in the mornings if you work on the other side of town and you’ll be sitting in dead stop traffic every single day. I have patience but I definitely couldn’t do it 5 days out of the week. A huge bummer but if I would have worked closer to these apartments than I would have definitely moved forward with them!

My boyfriend and I have yet to even move in yet but we are so excited because of my experience with staff member Alex! She is incredibly informative, sweet and knowledgable! We are from New Orleans so we definitely know and appreciate hospitable people! The community looks absolutely perfect, apartments fantastically designed and completely perfect in every way! Other apartment communities should take notes because Alex knows her stuff and has perfected her craft in getting future residents excited! Can’t wait to become a resident at Monterone Canyon Creek!

The management is horrible. They are so unorganized and uninformative. There is hardly ever anyone at the front office when you need help and there is always a problem. There is not enough parking even though it is supposed to be assigned. You may come home with a towing sticker on your car when you are parked in your own spot because they are so stupid as to assign the same spot to more than one apartment. The people are loud and you can hear through the paper thin walls, not to mention the ridiculous traffic in this area. Save yourself the drama and bullshit you will go through from being stuck in a lease at this place. Trust me.

Luxury luxury luxury is all you can say, every time I come home I am so happy because I have this great apartment with awesome views. I have been here a couple of months and haven’t had any issues the office staff is so nice and so quick to respond to any request. I would recommend this place to anyone and hope to be here for years to come!!!

I moved my mom in there after being diagnosed with cancer. The place wreaks of cigarette smoke which is really nice since she had COPD. there are drain flies that no one could get rid of. We have a roach infestation and yes mice. Oh yea and don’t forget the mold…

we have lived in this community for 2 years now and we have absolutely loved it. the apartments are great, the staff is nice and responsive– always!
the maintenance is great– the place always looks clean and nice.
the apartments are laid out very well– lots of space, lights, the apartments are in a good shape!!!
if would have to choose all over again i would deffenatly move in here with a family!!!

I had to jump on here based on MacKenzie M’s review because her main issue was mine as well. Chris is absolutely awful at customer service. He has borderline insulted me before, and often speaks with a tone implying that he would rather be anywhere else. The girls in the front office are hot and cold– there is one who is a total doll and another couple who couldn’t be bothered to look up when you’ve been standing and waiting for help for ages.
That having been said, the community itself is a lovely property with nice amenities. We had some terrible experiences with our upstairs heating and cooling system (we had to call about it more than five times, and that is even after being replaced). But the maintenance guys, especially the lead, are very friendly.
We lived there for two years and enjoyed most of it. Its sad that Chris really soured the place for us too.

Going on three years now– staff is fantastic we really love Malacia– professional and quick! The apartments are so nice even after being in them for several years I can count on one hand the times we have called maintenance. The amount they raise rent is very fair very competitive. Safe and quiet neighborhood! Couldn’t love it more!

I want to start out by saying I LOVE these apartments. The units are great. Recently updated and very clean. Tons of space and storage in my 1 bed ground floor unit Very little to complain about as far as noise is concerned in my unit. Maintenance is pretty prompt (if you demand it to be).Great pool area. Beautiful community just outside the gate with tons of running, walking and biking trails.
Why one star you ask? The management. I have lived in this complex for two years and it keeps getting worse.
Assistant Manager Chris is easily the rudest person in the customer service industry. I rarely have issues but when I do getting a resolution from Chris is like pulling teeth. I’ve actually called in and had him say «What?» In an exasperated tone. I’m not sure if he hates his job or is just all around miserable but I’m not sure he should be taking it out on residents.
As for the leasing consultants (I really can’t keep up with names because I’m not in the office often and they change a lot and look the same), Monterone needs to invest some the monthly billed customer service fee in some customer service training. Sarcastic joking should be saved for your pals not the residents. It also wouldn’t kill them to smile and greet the residents as soon as they walk in the office. I once had one of these girls ask me if a chicken carcass that fell out of a garbage bag on the sidewalk was mine (in front of prospective residents looking at the model) when I told her no she just walked right by and left it there (where it stayed for the next week!).
I will say that although I don’t deal much with Stacy, she seems pretty grumpy (based purely on her never smiling), however she brought coffee from the clubhouse to an elderly neighbor a while ago so clearly she has some concept of customer service. Hopefully she will read this and knock some into the heads of the others in the office.
Again the units at Monterone are great and totally worth the money but RUN the other way because it’s not worth the grief of dealing with this wayward team of leasing staff!

We do not receive a decent internet connection here at Monterone — a problem we’ve been aggressively working on for over a month. We’re aware of neighbors who have the same issues with Time Warner and AT&T alike. We found out too late that our ONLY option was Time Warner and they have failed miserably. We often have to «work from home» by working at coffee shops.
Management here has been unresponsive to our desperate needs to work from home and documenting the situation does us no good.
We’re eagerly counting the days until our move-​out and we of course regret moving here.
Tip To The Wise: Make sure you you inquire into the EXACT internet/​cable providers in the EXACT UNIT you are renting and get it in WRITING from Monterone and the service provider. The providers cannot guarantee anything until they are standing in your unit so if you rent your unit sight unseen, be prepared for surprises.
Also ask Monterone what rights you have (if any) with regard to faulty representation of a unit. Internet service is a requirement for us to be able to work from home — just like water or electricity. So when the providers Monterone partners with fail, you will be the recipient of such failure. Your option? Break your lease and pay 2 – 3 months rent to live in a suitable alternative.
We’re under new ownership as of Oct 30, 2013 and our attempts for help have gone to the bottom of the list of things to do.
Pure disappointment here.
2÷21÷14 Update: We moved from Monterone. While the internet issues made living here an overall poor experience for us Malicia in the front office did what she could to help; she wound-​up finding someone to move into our apartment a couple of weeks early and we really appreciated her efforts!

Great apartment complex overall, but the walls are extremely thin and there is no cell phone reception in the entire complex. Staff is amazing amd extremely helpful when it comes to satisfaction of residents, especially Malicia.

I’ve lived here two years and never once been late on rent.
I got paid today, and was under the impression rent could be turned in by the 4^th without a late fee. That was not the case.
I asked management for some leeway since I had never been late.
Not the case, management does not care about their tenants. They never have now that I think about it. I had a complaint once about my dog and they called me cussing me out. Highly unprofessional group of people. The apartment are nice, that’s about it. The gym that is ²⁴⁄₇ is always dirty and missing weights. I will not resign.
