My Moving Labor

Had nothing but problems with these movers .I initally dealt with a guy named Joe from the fla. office which transfered our move over to american knights movers out of texas. Joe got tired of me calling him asking him where the movers were after they repeatedly didn’t show 3 times after calling us with the time and date for pick up.(we were in ark.)Joe (the inital order taker and taker of our 500.00 deposit) was rude to me at the end. I called him the last time telling him that NOW these guys called and woke up the whole house @
telling my 82 yr old heart patient mother that they would be there within the hr. When the day before they called and set it up for 11 am. Well we rushed to get up, hurried, called and woke up OUR helpers and 3 hrs later… no movers. Joe seemed to not care anymore and continued to give us a runnaround. They finally showed up 6 hrs. later. These people were un real. Off they left. Final destination was Ca. They promosed a delivery in 10 days. Well after 2 weeks we found out that our furniture had just gone back to texas and was still sitting there waiting for delivery to Ca. Over 3 weeks later the delivery made it to Ca. A whole new set of movers. All with nasty attitudes. The main guy was trying to add on to our bill upsetting my heart patient mother. We refused to pay a cent more and he got really angry. We were told that we were owed a discount earlier because the earlier movers forgot our Paid for wardrobe boxes. This was an unpleasnt experience from beginning to end folks. I hope your experience is better. I asked for a discount from Joe due to our continuous hassles, and extra expenses calling our helpers early because of them and extra rent we had to pay because of thier tardiness and he wouldn’t even discuss it. Its seems difficult to find quality from any company anymore .Also, Count and or number your own boxes. Don’t keep expensive jewlery in your boxes.

This company really surprised me and from what I can see has really grown from past moves. I’ve read the others reviews and can’t believe this was the same company. They were VERY professional all dressed alike very polite and hard working! These guys really did go out their way to make sure this move went smoothly. I moved from Houston to Austin and this transitions was A1 I would definitely recommend this company to all my family members and friends because they really took care of my furniture and were fun guys to do business with.

I chose My Moving Labor based on their web site, promising experienced movers and care in the moving. Unfortunately, I can’t really say that’s what I got. They (Aaron — the owner and his two helpers) showed up 2 hours late, which was a minor nitpick But most of all, although the helpers seemed nice enough, i didn’t get the feeling they were very experienced with moving. They dropped my guitar, banged a couple of items on the way out, and worst of all left a nice long (15 ft) parallel groove in the fairly new bamboo flooring. This was caused, from what i could tell by dragging the dresser out of the closet to the living room, at which point one of them must have noticed the scratch and decided to lift the item the rest of the way. Unf. I didn’t get to discover this until the new tenant informed me about it several days later, at which point they told me it was too late to file with their insurance company. Well, honestly, their insurance company is not my problem. The long grooves in the floor was. I spoke to a Courtland who told me he would «set it right by me». I sent him photographs of the damage. That was over 2 months ago and in my recent conversation with him, he has backed down from that promise, citing once again, their insurance company problem. Not good, guys, not good. Anyway, I suggest to anyone that they do a bit more research when picking a moving company.

This move was stressful for me at first. But they promptly reassured me that I made the right decision when doing business with MyMovingLabor.
I am reminded today that no one is perfect, and I appreciate how the owner resolved the situation personally. My 4yr old daughter is elated that she doesn’t have to wait for her bed to be assembled (even tho she most likely won’t want to actually sleep in it for the first few weeks).
Their professional demeanor surpasses most, even throughout hearing a mouthful of frustration from me.
The overall keypoints about My Moving Labor is why, at the end of the day, i recommend:
1. They are reasonably priced (owner even stopped without charge to provide an accurate quote).

5. Fast, yet still safely wrapped my precious imported leather couches for free and without me having to ask them to.
6. Owner came back a second day to retrieve my items from my next-​door climate-​controlled storage. This was actually my fault that it was left behind, because I failed to ensure that his movers knew about it. Yet, they still worked me in their schedule the 2^nd time around with a complimentary trip.

The moving coordinator, Lana, scheduled an in-​home estimate to move our stuff at a flat rate. However, the owner no-​showed to our appointment. We didn’t even get a phone call to let us know he was running late. I had to email the coordinator to see what was up. She tried to reschedule and said that the owner had to help some other guys move. Um, no thanks. I need someone wayyy more reliable.
