When you take your car in for warranty work and can hear the dealership techs remark how great your setup is, you know the shop did a good job. True story here — it was my Subaru BRZ with the first gen greddy turbo kit and ecutek tuning. I honestly can’t complain in any way about my experiences with them over the last 2 years. Competitive price, excellent work (above and beyond really), and delivered on time at cost. When I get ready to add a bit more later this year I’m definitely returning here.

I’ve been an MZM customer for 2 years now. They always do quality work on my Subaru Legacy. The great thing about MZM is that they provide both regular maintenance and performance modifications so they are truly a comprehensive one stop shop. I always get quality and honest feedback from Mutasim and Mohammed. Theyve installed lowering springs and downpipe/​Cobb AP. they recently helped me diagnose a check engine light issue that was affecting my car’s driveability.
I also had my 60k mile service completed at their shop and received regular updates from them while they had my car. They even went the extra mile and sent me pictures of a defective part that needed to be replaced that i wasnt aware of. They always provide the best recommendations when I’m considering an upgrade or maintenance, and theyre willing to talk in depth about my considerations; I never feel rushed out the door like at a dealership. this is a quality that I value in the auto/​mechanic industry. I highly recommend MZM as a service and performance shop.

I have been a customer of MZM performance since 2002 when I owned a subaru wrx, Mohammed (owner/​tuner) recommended the correct steps to take in performance and I took those steps and never had any problems with the car. Later down the line I sold the car and bought a Nissan 350z, ended up slapping on a Greddy Twin turbo kit and was completely satisfied with the outcome and performance. My next toy ended up owning a Subaru Sti, which I completed a stage 2/​protune with MZM and again was completely satisfied with the reliability and performance that was given to my car. My final project is currently a Lancer evolution GSR and they also have worked on the car. (as you can see I LOVE CARS). my whole point of this review is that MZM knows what they are doing and I am one of those customers that keeps coming back. Mohammed is extremely knowledgeable in every aspect when it comes to the performance world, Mutasim has been extremely helpful with finding me the best price on parts and providing excellent customer service that any business should provide. I give MZM 5 STARS because they work hard to earn your business and KEEP IT that way. They are helpful in every way and most importantly know what they are doing ! MZM repaired my 2006 Subaru WRX Limited Wagon after my throw-​out bearing seized and clutch failed. Mutasim knows that I have 5 year old twins and went out of his way to get my car repaired quickly. MZM replaced my timing belt last month as part of my scheduled maintenance also. Both times MZM has been thorough and done a great job. The pricing for parts and labor has been fair as well. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

So this review is long overdue, but with a trusted group of friends helping me with my car, I can now post this review with confidence…
These guys where absolutely horrible. First off, they gave me estimates on how much my issue was going to be… TWICE and I told them my financial situation with renting a car (being under 24, they charge A LOT) and when all was said and done, they told be that it was going to be $ 900 more. Second, before the estimates, they asked me what I did for a living and were really adamant about it (hence the spike in price) Third, they are really biased to what kind of car you’re driving or what kind of mods that you have. If your car isn’t up to speed compared to what they are normally work on, then they are extremely careless. Me and a few buds went over the job that they did and nearly everything was on the verge of falling apart. After the work they did, I couldn’t pass inspection at one point. I also had a few other mechanics work on it and they found MORE things that were installed incorrectly. (belts were coming off, filters halfway on. etc)…which brings up another issue: I recently had my radiator replaced and checked and everything was good on that end, but after the outrageously expensive tune up (which they only wanted cash up front), they called me and said that my radiator needs to be replaced. I told them no and a few weeks later as I was driving, a big puff of steam emitted from my engine… luckily I was near my work and was able to pull into the parking lot before anything worse happened. There was fluid everywhere and I checked the hoses and looked for a leak, but I couldn’t tell and there was no pressure in the hoses after the car was hot. So I took it back into them as soon as possible because that was the only place I knew around in Austin at the time. They charged me another $ 600. I asked them to keep the hoses so I can inspect them, and when I asked, they said that they already tossed them and forgot my request. Also, when they did the tune up, they wouldn’t tune it unless I had the new Cobb Access Port. So I took my business elsewhere to get the car tuned. I forgot to mention that after all the work they did on my car, I’m having computer issues and everything on my dash tends to shut down and the life on my battery gets sucked away (I already had the Alternator and Battery replaced before they worked on it), so I m currently getting that checked out, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they did something to sabotage my car again to get even more money out of me.
If you are going to go to MZM, you need to have a lot of money ready to be dished out and a nice, super fast car. These guys will do anything to rip you off and do some illegal stuff to get even more.
If I could give them zero stars, I totally would.

I took my 2010 STI here to get a DP, exhaust, intake, spark plugs and fuel pump installed as well as a tune.
The car rune great and the install was very professional.
They’re probably more expensive than some but they’re better than probably most all.
