On the Run isn’t my neighborhood convenience store but it is where I go whenever I need beer. They always have some nice 6-​packs on sale for $ 5.49 — recently it’s been Red Hook Long Hammer IPA and Widmer Hefeweisen. Last month it was a 12-​pack of Session Dark for $ 9.99. Nice prices, nice beer + wine selection.
The guys working here at night are really nice, vaguely ethnic hip-​hoppers who are ten million times more polite than their parent’s generation (i.e., the surly hard-​working but loudly-​talking-​Urdu-​on-​the-​cell-​phone guys behind the counter at all the other convenience stores).
Beware, not open ’til midnight.
