The wife and I swung by this Christmas tree stand last year, mainly because we were a bunch of lazy asses and didn’t put up any decorations until December 21st. We figured, hey, when you wait, you’ve just gotta bite the bullet. This year is different. We got an earlier start, shopped around the usual suspects(Lowes, Home Depot, etc), and much to my surprise, found that Papa Noël was really competitive. Without a truck, we’ve recently been favoring sub 5′ trees. Neither Home Depot nor Lowes had any in stock, but Papa Noël had seven or eight, and pricing was almost identical. The fella who checked us out was super helpful and friendly too. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes! Protip: sign up for their mailing list and get a discount!

This review is specific to Papa Noël’s delivery service. We purchased our 9ft’ tree at about 4/5pm last night and decided to pay for delivery since we had left our tree stand at home, and we had our Four Runner which we were slightly hesitant for the 9′ tree to reside upon. They said they were making 1 more delivery that night, but couldn’t tell us what time. We waited for a call and by 730pm they hadn’t called, so we called to find what time they’d be delivering — not til 9:30pm. Little too late as we were starving and wanted to head to dinner. We asked if they could deliver in the morning, and they said YES prior til 12pm. 11:15am rolls around the next day, still no delivery. We call to check in, and the manager we spoke to said they had misplaced our delivery slip and our tree was still at the location, and hadn’t gone out on the first delivery. Annoyed, we gave them our address again, and was told the delivery truck would be back in about 30−40min, and we’d be first to receive delivery. 2 hours later — STILL nothing. We called again and they were just loading the truck. The excuse that we were given was that they«had a lot of trees». Totally understand, BUT when you’re paying $ 60 for a service, set expectations correctly. Don’t say delivery by 12pm and you end up being 2 hours late! We have family in town and had to cancel plans to wait longer. We will NOT be using their delivery service ever again.

Stopped by last night to get a real tree after our experimental fake tree had an epic fail. So epic I cried at the sight of it. Real trees all the way. Papa Noël saved the holidays! A small tree seemed pricey but at that point I didn’t care. It was slim pickings when we went, but they mentioned were still getting about 200 trees in that week. The sales lady was a delight, friendly and full of holiday cheer. Christmas for everyone!
