Pecan Springs Ranch

We just had our wedding here and everything was perfect! We got so many comments on how beautiful the venue was. Even in the middle of July the weather was perfect, there was a breeze and plenty of shade to take pictures in.
Kerbey and her team are very helpful! They respond to all your questions in a timely manner, provide you a cool program to design your seat arrangements and the day of the wedding the grounds were impeccable!
They do only off the venue itself, so if you are looking for a place that you can just write and check and they do the rest this is not it. You (or your coordinator) have to bring in all the vendors to make your day complete. I had a blast planning it so it was not a problem for me.
We choose all vendors from their suggested vendor list and I am so glad we did. Every vendor they suggested was top-​notch! If you can get a date here, book it!

Just to clarify my prior review: during the weekend of our wedding there was flooding in the larger-​Austin area; PSR itself was not flooded!

Have you ever dreamed of hosting your special event in a beautiful Texas Hill country setting? Most of us have, but logistics — like the typical long distances to these venues — makes planning an event in such a setting impossible. When suitable venues are located, they are usually absurdly expensive and overly restrictive, requiring that you use their caterers, florists, etc. All of these things add to your cost while limiting your choices.
Last weekend, my new wife and I held our wedding at Pecan Springs Ranch. The event was beautiful, with fresh-​cut flowers, and a wonderful menu (see my review of Verde’s), under the Texas sunset and evening sky. The venue is located in Austin, just 3 ½ miles past the Y in Oak Hill. It is incredibly convenient to access and only a 15 minute drive from downtown.
We discovered the venue quite by chance., And got to know the Smith family, the owners and operators of the venue. They treated us as if we were family and I could not be more impressed by the time and energy each of them devoted to making our wedding beautiful and successful.
To accommodate us, they altered their schedule allowing us to have our event on a Sunday evening. Every detail was thoughtfully attended to. More importantly, the family was on site helping to tackle the inevitable problems that arise in any large event.
The quality was first rate. Having seen photographs on their website, I never thought that our wedding could be as beautiful, but it was. The venue is absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. There were yard games to keep the children entertained, friendly bartenders to keep the adults entertained, and there was plenty of space for our 450 guests to spread out. Events large or small would be perfect here.
With the size of our wedding, we were keeping an eye on cost and, from a cost perspective, Pecan Springs Ranch was very competitive and made recommendations that allowed us to maximize each dollar. The wedding could easily have cost twice as much elsewhere.
I look back on our wedding with great happiness, primarily because it is the day I married my best friend. I also am incredibly happy because of the beautiful event that we hosted for our friends, colleagues, and family. I have been to dozens of weddings, never one as beautiful as my own. I have Pecan Springs Ranch and the Smith family to thank for this.
If you want a beautiful, Texas wedding without traveling outside of Austin and without spending a fortune, Pecan Springs Ranch is for you. If you want a venue that’s your guests will want to visit again, look no further.
Of all of the services I have reviewed on the Unilocal,this is the most expensive expenditure and the one vendor where the stakes could not be higher. There is no do over when you get it wrong so I encourage to look into this great venue.

I am a photographer and I love shooting weddings, engagements and bridals at Pecan Springs Ranch. So many venues have so little options on great spots for portraits, but each time I shoot here I find myself capturing so many amazing pictures at so many different spots on the Ranch. i love it!
