PromiseLand Learning Center

I cannot rave enough about Promiseland Learning Center and all of its staff!
My son started in the «young Two’s» classroom about a year ago, and has transitioned through two classrooms since then and into the Pre-​K class. They keep the child-​to-​teacher ratio relatively low in comparison to other preschools I have toured, and they all seem to know my son by name as they greet us coming and going each day (and not just his teachers, but seemingly the entire staff, which is awesome)!
My son had never been to any type of daycare when I first took him to PLC as I previously worked from home. When I initially enrolled him, he started as a twice-​per-​week student, was extremely independent and had low-​level communication skills. Over just his first 2 – 3 months as a part-​time student, I saw a major improvement in his social and communication skills, and quickly decided to begin taking him three days per week. It wasn’t long after that, we started him full-​time and I am so happy we did, as his skill level went through the roof (and also became potty-​trained much faster than I’m sure it would have taken without their help)!!
He comes home talking about his teachers (Ms. Ashley and Ms. Tierra, whom he LOVES) and all of his friends, which always makes me really happy, knowing that he’s happy. Ms. Caren and Ms. Sal are also AMAZING to work with. They are always extremely communicative, flexible and happy to accommodate parents’ needs when possible.
If we weren’t moving way down south, I would have, no-​doubt, stayed with PLC as long as possible until my son starts kindergarten. I’m totally sad to say goodbye, but I’m excited for whoever gets the open spot my son is leaving behind!

I’ll admit, I was a bit unsure about sending my 3 year old and 9 month old to Promiseland Learning Center, but I have to say I’ve been pleasantly satisfied with them in the last 3 months our kids have been there. Everyday when I pick up my kids from a long day of school, they are happy. I can tell that they’ve had fun and are well taken care of. Ms. Caren (director) and Ms. Sal (assistant director) are just amazing! They go above and beyond to make sure mine and my kid’s needs are met. Recently, my daughter had an allergic reaction while she was at school and they handled the situation per protocol and to my satisfaction. They showed a lot of concern and support for finding the root cause of her reaction and have proactively revisited their policies to make the school safer for my child and others. I am very pleased with the management of the daycare. All the teachers and floaters have also demonstrated great care for my kids and are loving towards them. They are respectful of my requests and provide good communication on my children’s care.
Pros: Great staff/​management, clean facility, kids are happy there, very reasonable rates with discounts
Cons: Teacher turnover high, ratio too high — 15 students to 1 teacher for 3 year old class, Learning topics will vary based on what teacher you get

We tried PromiseLand for about 6 months when my daughter was 2 years old. It had good pricing and their large classroom environment seemed stimulating and fun. We never had any bad experiences, but found that the staff quality is pretty variable and there is a lot of turnover. Shout out to Ms. Breau’nna, she’s awesome! Even though the class room sizes are within regulation, it always seemed chaotic when i would drop my daughter off and pick her up. She would often wet herself at school, and the day we switched to a smaller facility she hasn’t done that once. Partly that’s because she was just learning, but it makes me sad that the classroom was so busy that she literally couldn’t get the attention of teachers to go to the bathroom. The director Ms. Caren was very amenable to meeting with us and finding a solution to our concerns, but since they don’t accept infants part-​time it was easier for us just to switch my daughter and find somewhere that I only had to pay for part-​time for both kids when I had my son. The prices are pretty good aside from the full-​time part-​time issue.
In all, PromiseLand seems fine but we don’t miss it.
