When I first met Heather Olexa, I was going through several major life transitions and felt I needed to make some outward changes to reflect. I wanted something bold and different, drastic even, to truly capture my energy. For the longest time I kept a long, straight cut, and I was BORED! I came to Heather with some images, and asked for her professional input on ideas to cut the length and add a bright ombré. We discussed options and I really appreciated her honesty about what would and wouldn’t work for me. Along with having thin, fine hair, I had been coloring at home for years, which I soon learned was very detrimental on my locks.
Not only did Heather give me the perfect cut, but she was able to color correct what I had been destroying over years of inconsistency. She went even further to instruct me how to style my hair to get the look I wanted, as well as recommending styling products from shampoos and masks to brushes and flat irons. I have never had so many compliments on a hair style in my life, and I’ve never been happier with one either! I’ve continued my relationship with Heather ever since, both as a client and a friend.

Transformed inside and out. In the last 18 months I have gone through many transformations (including big changes to my love, career, health) and through all of these I’ve kept a good head on my shoulders. Heather Olexa’s cut and color is principally responsible. Isn’t it the toughest times that you need your best haircuts? I think so.

Heather recognized who I am, and with thoughtful intension helped me to discover the following hair styles: (1) mid-​length naturally dark cut to shaved sides (Nov ’13), (2) pastel green tint that perfectly accented my eyes (April ’14), (3) piece-​y asymmetrical undercut bob (Nov ’14), (4) twiggy pixie in platinum blonde (Jan ’15).
I believe that in other hands the following looks could quickly become a disaster. None here, not with this girl.

I just had my first service done at Redden Style Group. Let me tell you, this place has such a great energy about it. The location is pretty cool. It’s tucked away near West and West 3^rd street right across the street from the new Trader Joes. Heather has done my hair since she moved here from NYC. She’s done ombré’s and balayages in different tones on me. This place is awesome and so are the people!

Lauren is amazing. AMAZING! I have never been so happy with my hair. My red is so natural that I’ve decided to start lying and just say, «Yes. I just want share with the world a real treasure that i have found in my hair sprecialist. specialist is not even close to the word that bests describes her. I previously got exentions for the first time and was so very excited — that was — until I got home to find out My hair was off-​colored and extremely too long. I searched around for months and did a lot of research, and even had several consultations before I finally ended up with Stasia. Stasia is a true Artist with everything she does and was very meticulous and professional when taking out and then installing a new set for me. she even offered me a discount because she knew I had had such a bad experience prior to seeing her and she wanted this one to be nothing but positive. This lady is just a beautiful person who you can tell loves her job and enjoys having to ‘go to the office’ each week. Lauren has been cutting and coloring my hair for about a year now. I have followed her to this new salon. I have short hair. If you have short hair, you know that finding a stylist who is good with short hair is not an easy find! Lauren loves short hair. I have been trying to grow from one style to another style — still short — and Lauren transitioned my hair into it perfectly. I never went through a «bad phase.» She is my color goddess! I totally trust her to make the right decisions about how to highlight my hair. It is always perfect for my age, coloring, and personality. Lauren is Vidal Sassoon trained in NYC. Her methods and attention to detail are obvious. And… she is a really fun young lady to get to know. The salon is at a trendy location and once Trader Joe’s opens, it will be a super great location!

I am somewhat particular about my hair. Well, ok, I’m very particular about my hair. For the first time in my life, I sit in the chair and say «do whatever you want», because Dawn Hill is that amazing. I look forward to my appointment all month. The salon is inviting, the experience with Dawn is divine.

I love the location and the parking’s great. Dawn Hill’s my hair stylist– she’s been cutting/​coloring my hair for about 4 years. She’s amazing – can’t think of a time that I wasn’t extremely happy with my hair. She’s a hidden gem and hopefully she’ll keep me as her client when she becomes the stylist of the rich and famous — oh wait, she’s done that already. Dawn’s not only super talented at what she does but has the best attitude ever… I followed her to Solutions and will fallow her anywhere she goes.
I also enjoy Jet’s company when I visit (owners dog). He’s sweet, polite, quiet and very well mannered – just adorable!

Briana was so nice and flexible while scheduling my appointment. When I arrived at Solution, we discussed what to do with the cut and I felt confident in letting her take control of my crazy layers. She reshaped my hair and now it looks AMAZING straight or curly. Cute salon with great products! Briana is my new go to stylist!

Wowie wow wow! Brianna is AMAZING! She cut my hair 5 days ago, so I’ve had time to see how my hair works with the new style. It’s perfect. No other way to say it. She is so talented. I like my hair long. We took off about 2 inches of length, and some how people are telling me my hair looks longer and so healthy! Also, with past stylists, for weeks after a cut, my hair no longer looks cute when I pull it up. Not this time :) I don’t know how she shaped it, but it looks great up and down. Oh!!! How did I almost forget: BEST. SHAMPOO. OF. MY. LIFE.

I am a client of the Houston location (my stylist there is Daniel, whom I love), so I naturally called Solution upon moving to Austin. Brianna was able to fit me in same-​day on a Saturday, which was unexpected and much-​appreciated. She was fabulous. She took her time, listened to me, and my cut came out EXACTLY how I’d imagined, which is hard to do when you take five inches off. I highly recommend this shop as well as the Davines products that they carry.

I learned about Solution for Hair and Makeup after asking a girl with a super-​cute haircut who did her hair. She told me that Matthew at Solution for Hair and Makeup did it and highly recommended him. I’ve been growing out my hair for some time and was hesitant to get it cut because, it seems, stylists always take off more than I want. Not the case here!
Matthew was awesome — he’s super nice, fun and interesting. He listened to what I had in mind and did exactly that. He didn’t take off too much and he gave my hair some much-​needed shape and style. I’ll definitely go back again.
