Totally worth every penny. I’m feeling great and my backpain is gone!

On a recent trip through Oklahoma (not by choice, it’s just THERE) I happened to see a corkboard in a gas station/​liquor store/​casino advertising for an animal chiropractor. The thought of a mule getting adjusted made me giggle but didn’t lend much credibility.
But then my shoulder flared up again at the gym. And massage wasn’t making it better. And it was suggested I try a chiropractor. So I went in with a straight face and determined to be objective and holy jebus I am glad I was.
Doc was very, very thorough, detailing how all the systems (muscular, skeletal, cardiovascular) all combine to play their parts in keeping a body upright and if you focus on just some of them (lifting weights, running) you won’t get the whole benefit and invariably the neglected parts will weaken and fail. We discussed strategies to employ so I could stay active while resting and healing my injured wing and future activities to avoid to keep it in optimal shape once it was healed up.
Also got some spinal adjustment treatment, which was pretty gnarly, not going to lie. You’re just chilling, minding your own business and WHOMP your neck and back gets fixed. Kind of a rush, not going to lie. And then we finished off with an E-​stem treatment, hooking up some voodoo wizardry to my shoulder and electrifying me like some science fair exhibit. But I’ll be darned if I didn’t walk out of there with considerably more freedom of movement in my shoulder and after following his instructions the thing didn’t heal up pretty rapidly and has stayed in optimal shape now for many months.
Satisfaction is defined as feeling that whatever you paid for you got a good deal out of it. I got a plethora of knowledge, some good physical treatment and I’m very satisfied.

A week before my wedding I was in unbearable pain. My lower back, hip, and down into my knee were affected. It hurt to walk, stand, sit and lay down. I began looking for a chiropractor. After reading reviews and looking at websites I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Hagood. After the first appointment I was feeling better. After a few more appointments I was almost as good as new. I was able to walk down the aisle on my special day without pain. He is an awesome chiropractor and will refer him to anyone looking for one!

Dr. Hagood is very personable and informative. It was my first chiropractic experience and it was great. The whole process was very relaxing, and I immediantly felt better. I have heard several chiropractic horror stories, but Dr. Hagood is the real deal. He was fantastic, and I would definatly recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Hagood is awesome! He explains everything, and always makes sure I am comfortable. He is so nice and really chatty, which I usually don’t love but with him it’s great! He is just so nice, and an amazing chiropractor!

Outstanding chiropractic care! In addition, Kelita works the front desk like a champ. Overall, this is a great service experience from start to finish. I have had the best experiences with his adjustments for years. He is consistent and extremely knowledgeable. I truly appreciate how he can customize each treatment if something new has come up for your body. For example, I have been struggling with a cold and today he made some adjustments to the sinus areas of my face and my thoracic that helped with the congestion. I refer him to friends, family, and clients. Simply outstanding!

Thanks to him, I’m able to get around pain free. I feel his therapy, along with the strengthening and stretching techniques really did the trick.

I have been to 3 chiropractors in Austin.
The first was good, but only provided bare bones care. If it couldn’t be accomplished on the table, it wasn’t going to get done.
The second put me on a 2−3/week regimen that quickly ate up my insurance, so I ended up paying a lot out of pocket (for pretty much just a neck and occasional upper back adjustment), which didn’t help very much, and left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
Thinking I’d give chiropractic care one last try, I came to PLC from a good review online. I’m so glad I did.
After the typical x-​rays and consultation, you get not only your adjustment but _​two_​therapies (a muscle stim machine for the area of your choice, plus a hot water massage or spine roller bed). They also have workout gear on site to help you strengthen your back and core muscles, which is good preventative maintenance.
In addition, not only does Dr. Hagood adjust your neck and/​or upper back, but your hip alignment, your lower back, and anything else you may notice not feeling well. He’s holistic and thorough.
Plus, if he has time and you’re interested, he will explain any number of different chiropractic and health concepts to you.
He’s not even on my current insurance, but I continue to be a part of his preventative maintenance program, because I see such positive results from it. He really gets you to the best stage to help your body help itself.
These days, I actually look forward to ‘Going to the backcracker’, rather than thinking it’s something I begrudgingly do because it’s good for me.
Plus, there is now a massage therapist on site, too, so you can kill two birds with one stone. Good stuff, Menard.

STAY AWAY!!! Horrible, horrifying experience. I’m glad some people got benefit from this guy but he was HIGHLY unprofessional with me, rude, and seemed pathetically desperate for patients. He was all nice and sweet and approachable until some of the things he was saying were questioned, and then he got very uppity and angry, even used fear tactics in a passive aggressive way. He actually threatened that if I didn’t get treatment from him, I would likely never get better, since «he sees a lot of people who went to other chiropractors and are WORSE now!». Nice respect for his colleagues, huh? And nice ego. I have been to PLENTY of good chiropractors, but am looking for one in Austin because I just moved here and reinjured my back. This is NOT what you say to someone, ever, especially when they are in discomfort. When pushing for x-​rays, he reminded me that «Hey, you probably don’t have a tumor in there or anything, but you COULD. how do I know you don’t have cancer?!» I was blown away by the unprofessionalism. There was not a soul in the office aside from his administrative assistant and Dr. Hagood seemed to have all the time in the world (with NO respect for mine) in trying to rope me into seeing him for treatment. By far, the worst experience I have ever had in any Dr.‘s office, and I have been to plenty. Absolutely terrible experience. I was just dumbfounded (and actually upset) by it. When I walked out, I knew I would never walk back in, and am considering reporting the incident to the Board. I am not one to post bad reviews for fun. In fact, I have never posted a bad review on Unilocal or elsewhere. But I feel that people need to be warned about this guy. I would give him ZERO stars if this system would let me.

Can’t say enough about Dr. Hagood. He fixed my back pain, my breathing problems, and I even stopped having my heart palpitations. After seeing three other chiropractors (one that really hurt me), physical therapy, cardiologists, and my regular doctor, who said he could not do anything else for my back pain, I went to see Dr. Hagood. After only one visit, I felt the pain subside in my back and it was much easier to breath. Now four visits later, I’m almost back the way I was. What a life saver, literally. He’s extremely knowledgeable, happy to answer questions you have, and really takes his time with you. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for the best chiropractor in Austin or Texas for that matter.

I went to Dr. Hagood for back pain that I had for a while and needed it fixed pronto. He was great, he figured out what was causing the pain did a little therapy and I was as good as new.
The receptionist was very friendly she helped me reschedule an appointment with no problem. Would definitely recommend Dr. Hagood to anyone. Also, he sends out monthly e-​newsletters that are very helpful.

Like the other reviewers here, I too had never been to a chiropractor before visiting Dr. Hagood. I went in after weeks of neck pain that prevented me from sleeping through the night or sitting all day at my desk. After the first few visits I started feeling better, and by the 7^th visit I felt like a new person! While I didn’t mind the idea of «adjusting» my lower back, the thought of someone «adjusting» my neck made me panicky. However, Dr. Hagood quickly and painlessly got my neck into shape. I have to admit that the sound of the cracks as he adjusted my neck grew on me. I highly recommend Parmer Lane Chiropractic. The only drawback for me is their limited hours (not open on weekends, only half-​day on Friday). Dr. Hagood is welcoming, knowledgeable, and provides much needed back/​neck relief.

I’ve never been to a chiropractor in all my born days… and there’ve been many (as my grandmother would say… if she were alive and still able to talk). Well, today was my first time. I’ve had back problems for over a week now, and I’ve been to the doctor, the acupuncturist, and the massage guy. All of these have helped tremendously, but I really felt like there was something going on with my spine, so I decided to find a chiropractor. Why not, right?!
So, I chose Dr. Hagood at Parmer Lane Chiropractic. I chose Dr. Hagood because of the previously written Unilocal reviews. And let me say, they are spot on. Everything about the experience was pleasant, if not downright fun — yes, fun (the massaging water bed hoochimawhatzit and the electro-​stimulator thingymabob are bizarre, but totally cool).
Dr. Hagood is well-​educated, knowledgeable, likable, patient (no pun intended), and thorough. His evaluation process leaves no stone unturned. He really knows how to get to the root of your problem.
The office itself is neat, clean, well-​equipped with modern technologies, easy to get to, and staffed with an extremely nice and efficient assistant. Parking is abundant. Drive-​thru Starbucks is a block away. An Indian food market is next door. Everything you could want and more.
I’m going back for follow-​up work on my specific back problem and then again to get myself in to total alignment. I really feel like this process will bring added value to my already pretty-​decent health and fitness practices.
I highly recommend Dr. Hagood /​Parmer Lane Chiropractic. Five stars really aren’t enough.

wow. This is, I mean really, what do you say about the most awesomenest doc in the world?
Yesterday was my first trip to a chiropractor ever. Today was the second. I woke up with a nasty bent neck. Seriously, without constant, aching attention, my left ear was diving for my shoulder, which was only too happy to crawl up to meet the ear half way.
Tonia T. raves about this guy even when you aren’t hurt; imagine her reaction when I showed up crooked! So I called up and got a same day appointment! Then we spent a good deal of time learning everything I needed to be a little more comfortable with the concept that someone was about to twist my neck in ways it had never been twisted before.
Dr. Hagood had just the right mix of technical and layman’s terms for me to immediately trust that he’s no fly-​by-​night quack. He took the time to ensure that I was comfortable and as aware as I could be before we began.
He has a technological dependency that I, personally, find reassuring. Not only are there physics behind the chiropractic uhm… practice, but he also used x-​rays and volt meters and wow… the massage beds.
I haven’t gotten to the exercise régime yet, but it’s coming. If you let him, he’ll point you down the path to overall health and well-​being. This is the man with the plan. Seriously, after the first «crack» I started planning his Christmas present.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Hagood since May 2000 and I tell everyone I know about him. I came to him unable to turn at the waist because of muscle spasms I was having in my back. After the muscle relaxers prescribed by an MD rendered me unconscious for 3 hours, I decided to try a non-​pharmaceutical approach.
I called Dr. Hagood’s office and they worked me into their schedule that very afternoon. Dr. Hagood had me back to my normal self after 3 visits. I had a significant decrease in pain after my first adjustment. I go to him on a regular basis now to maintain a pain-​free body and he always takes time to ask how I’m doing, if I’ve experienced any new problems, etc. He’s helped me with a number of joint/​muscle issues and saved me from having to take drugs for pain.
I will never go to another chiropractor. In fact, when my parents (who live 4 hours away) come in for a visit a few times a year, they make a point to go in and see Dr. H. If you are in any kind of pain or have any issues with your joints or muscles, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Hagood. I agree with Candice that I can’t say enough about how awesome he is.

When I first moved here, I was just looking for a chiropractor within my insurance group. I randomly ended up here, with Dr. Hagood. Nine months later, I am so happy I did. Dr. Hagood is the best chiropractor I’ve ever gone too. He’s made my neck pain virtually disappear and my migraines have been greatly reduced. I’ve even gone there with a migraine and he’s gotten rid of it. Another thing I love is how accommodating the scheduling is. I can always get in if I need to. I can’t say enough about how great this place is!
