I have been seeing Dr. Rost for almost 3 years now. He and his staff are great. The office is small, but I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for the start of an appointment. It’s a no fuss, no frills office, a little old school. He saw me through an impacted wisdom tooth extraction– referring me to a local oral surgeon with no problems and then following up after the surgery. My husband and I both see Dr. Rost, and they conveniently send one reminder card out for us to schedule our appointments around the same time. Our hygienist is very friendly, always does a quick, efficient cleaning and is very gentle. Rarely any pain and such that you might get from less experienced hygienists at huge offices rushing to get to the next person.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Rost for over 25 years now(at one point, he had 3 generations of my family as his patients!). As the other reviews point out, he is old school, but in all the best ways. Prices and suggested procedures have *always* been reasonable and well-explained. Last week he extracted an errant wisdom tooth that unexpectedly showed up, no problem. His staff is *awesome* and has so little turnover it is AMAZING. As for his politics and magazines that may be found in his waiting room(per another review), I’ve never heard him bring that sort of stuff up with any patient(or worker in the office) and he’s always treated every patient as the important person they are.

I have been going to Dr. Ross Rost(the dentist with the funny name) for several years. As the other reviewer from way back in 2007 said, he is «old school.» Very old school. His staff is the same way. Everyone I have ever seen in his waiting room is old school — folks in their sixties and seventies. Even at 32 years of age, I feel a little out of place — like I’m not supposed to be there. Either way, I appreciate his years of knowledge, and non-alarmist perspective on what is going on in your mouth. Yes, you could go to another(younger) dentist with a cooler office, and better magazines. However, when your health, and possibly(very) expensive procedures are involved, you want somebody that knows what they are doing. (One word of warning — Dr. Ross is very«old school» when it comes to his politics. His waiting room had several issues of a certain conservative magazine that is so off the charts I thought it only existed online.)

I feel the need to confess, I haven’t been to a dentist in 7 years. This inspired terrible guilt in me. It was like calling an old friend you hadn’t talked to in years, so much time goes by, that maybe you just forget about it, and never call. I took the step though, and I went to the dentist. Fears of multiple fillings, scary drills, root canals, and thousands of dollars in repairs were keeping me awake at night. Dr. Rost put me at ease. I wasn’t berated for my lack of upkeep, nor was I made to feel ashamed about not flossing… I hate that. I got my teeth cleaned and examined by a dentist all in the same day. This is a rare occurrence nowadays. So many of the larger places make you have two separate visits, which is a ridiculous scam, and solely a plot to get more money if you happen to have dental insurance. This man is old school, probably in his mid-seventies, but don’t let that dissuade you. He takes care of your teeth, and doesn’t recommend costly extras that aren’t necessary This is a quality that is hard to find in a dentist. My only fear is that he will retire soon, until then though, I will be faithful to Dr. Rost.
