Salon Austin

TJ Stoda, the owner, has been styling my hair for many years now and has always done an excellent job. I appreciate that he uses products without harsh chemicals. I’m a natural redhead and when I started going grey, other stylists could not get my color right, turning my hair orange or even purple. TJ has been the only one who gets red right! I receive lots of compliments on my hair thanks to him! Also — in over 15 years I have never heard him be rude to a customer. He has a great sense of humor and I always look forward to my appointments with him. My son also goes to him regularly and thinks he does a great job — and he’s very picky about his hair.

Been going to Salon Austin maybe 2 or 3 or 4 times a year for the past 10 years for a «Brazillian». I get everything waxed except, for my chest. TJ always does a good job and is easy going enough that makes the client feel comfortable. And when he peels the wax off, it only hurts for 2 or 3 seconds, then the pain is gone. It takes about 45 mins to wax everything, and he charges a reasonable and fair price.
TJ has never been rude to me. Some of these reviewers about rude customer service doesn’t sound like TJ all. Being rude is not in his nature. If he was rude to somebody, I am pretty sure that person was rude to TJ to begin with. There’s 2 sides to every story.
if you’re thinking about getting a Brazillian, I can highly recommend Austin Salon. I promise you won’t be disappointed. So don’t let the negative reviews persuade you not to try it out.

don’t bother with salon austin. i just tried calling to schedule an appointment and here was the conversation:
ME: Hi, I was just wondering if i could schedule an appointment for a men’s haircut tomorrow?
STYLIST: No. You can’t. The salon’s closed today because it’s monday, and i’m nowhere near my book so i can’t help you.
ME: um… ok…
STYLIST: call the salon in the morning and we’ll see if we can even fit you in.
ME, trying not to curse him out because he was speaking to a potential new client so rudely:
yea. i’ll do that.
(sure i will. jerk.)

First off I must say this review doesn’t reflect the talent of the salon but is geared towards their customer service. I called the salon and was greeted with an angry voice «WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME!!!» Taken aback and slightly confused, I replied, «Is this not Salon Austin?» To which he answered quite rudely yes what do you want? I said I was just calling to find out when you closed and again he angrily said he closed an hour ago. To say the least the conversation didn’t go much further than that. I know this interaction appears seemingly outlandish but I assure this is exactly the way it happened.
Advice to Salon Austin: clean up your customer service, learn how to answer phones or don’t answer them at all.

I may not have the best attitude towards everyone I speak to, but I try not to be purposely Rude. I Will Not EVER go to Salon Austin, after the the RUDENESS I just got from TJ who answered the phone. I inquired about getting a haircut, he snapped back I full for the day. I was like, I dont want a cut today, I want to see about getting a cut for
and I was rudely told, I DONT DO THAT ANYMORE, I heres anumber to call, and what came next was a shock, I dont shock easily. But he had the balls to say «I wont do that anymore, I have a Life » … then hung up on me.

TJ is a very talented colorist and stylist. The chemical-​free, organic hair dye he uses doesn’t have a strong smell or create any damage; the results are beautiful color and healthy hair. He cut my hair so quickly that i could not believe that it would look good, but it is probably the best hair cut that I have had in years. Thank you, TJ. You are the best!

I’ve been going to TJ for several years now and he always does a fantastic job. The hair color he uses is amazing and looks so natural. I highly recommend him.

I had dyed my hair for many years and wanted to let it grow out and just be gray. I couldn’t find anyone to help me with that, but TJ was great! He gave me a wonderful haircut and colored my hair a blend of light blonde and brown, so naturally that no one ever knew it was growing out. Several years later, I’m still impressed with his haircuts and I drive a long way to get there — great job!
