Salvation pizza is the best pizza in Austin. The staff is friendly and I love the lunch special.

Terrible pizza, horrible service — consistently. Delivery was in some other building — I had to track her down outside to get my cold, $ 60 order(I live in their building). I keep trying since it’s nearby but the pizza is always burnt, the service blows(I’ve been told by the bartender that I can sit outside but have to self serve — and did — because she was too busy with the one person at the bar) — not worth the price at all. Have also run into the manager drunk af peeing on our apt. building more than once — this place is a waste of space.

My boyfriend and I just moved in next door and I would first like to say that my first experience here was great, great food, great happy hour and great service. Enough that we just moved in next door a week ago and we were already going back in for more. Unfortunately we then had a completely opposite experience. We had noticed the last time we were there that they offer an 18 inch two topping pizzas Mon-Wednesday for $ 15 and we were looking forward to it because of the college championship game and it couldn’t be more convenient being right next door. We had also noticed a sign out front that advertising 10 cent wings on Monday nights, awesome right! so we decided to grab some wings and maybe a drink and go and grab the pizza later. We were sat by a gentleman who seemed to be the owner or manager and my boyfriend went to order one of the Austin drafts cuz on the table topper explaining happy hour it explains $ 2.50 drafts and he ordered the same one he ordered last time but then was informed that there are only two drafts available for happy hour and that the sign is actually supposed to say $ 2.50 off of the price. This was all very confusing to us because the last time we were there, which was less than a week cuz we haven’t lived here that long, he ordered that same draft beer and received it for the 2.50 price. If I had the receipt I would have posted it because we ordered three apps and two drinks last time and our bill was $ 19 so clearly something was different. After all this we just ordered water two dozen wings and the meatball appetizer and we receive a bill for $ 37.00. A $ 37.00 bill for two waters a meatball app and 24 wings that were supposed to be 10 cents a piece. When I asked the server about the bill she said that the wings are only 10 cents if you order like a pizza or a salad or something but for one person each? Really unclear on those details and when we said we would order a pizza she said that it was too late now for that offer cuz we already ordered the wings without the pizza? So nowhere on the big sign out front did it say exclusions apply or anything of the sort and now we were trying to do what we are supposed to and we are told it’s too late. So now we were provided false information by the table topper and also the big sign out front. I’ve been a server before and I studied and work in the hospitality industry and I hate causing any issues with servers because I understand that things are beyond their control, but the manager really should have handled the situation because he heard the entire thing happening and didn’t once try to assist her or help resolve the problem. The server admitted to not giving us half off on the meatballs and she would fix that and I said that the wings should at least be half off because they advertise half off apps and wings are on the apps menu and last time we did get them for the half off. I somehow managed to get our supposed to be less than $ 10 bill to $ 18. The entire situation was completely disappointing and the only reason I’m not giving 1 star is because the food is good and the first experience we had was great. It all could have been resolved with a simple little *exclusions apply at the bottom of the sign and the table topper. Their team also needs to be on the same page about what the specials actually are and management should probably care a little more when they see a conflict in the restaurant. We were excited about this place being right next door and moving from Boston we were excited about the New Haven style pizza too, but you can probably guess we never ended up doing that $ 15 pizza special for the game at the end of all of this.

3.5 Stars would be more accurate. Bruschetta to start was incredible and our waitress was great. Food was ready in a very timely matter. The pizza was good but it wasn’t something that I know I’ll be cravings later. In other words, it wasn’t crazy amazing but it’s wasn’t bad at all. We also ordered a salad which we were slightly disappointed due to the fact that there were probably just as much croutons as there were lettuce. Haven’t tried any of the other entrées besides the pizzas but if I am in the area again, there’s a 50% chance that’ll I’ll give them another shot.

I’ve tried the pepperoni pizza, sausage calzone, and the spaghetti and they are all very good. The food takes a long time to come out though.

We’ve eaten at Salvation since 2007, on 34th. We live south, and welcomed the addition of the Rainey location. We tried to do Salvation once a week. But not anymore. Being put on hold indefinitely? Being dropped repeatedly(apparently their phones work 50% of the time)? Sharing a 4-hour Friday night ordeal with friends(starting at 5:00, ending near 9:00, and documented) resulting in Salvation«apologizing» to us and our neighbors with a $ 50 gift card? And tonight: 2 calzones and an order of garlic bread(the latter to pull us over the transom in order to get the $ 5 off our order), all great except no garlic bread was delivered. That’s another 20 minutes I’ll never get back. And no, I didn’t want/need the garlic bread on top of 3 pounds of bread and cheese(see next section). There’s a catch, see. Those $ 5 coupons good for delivery? They’re only valid if your order is north of $ 25: more simply put, you need to order $ 25 or more of food in order to use that $ 5 coupon. If your order comes to, say, $ 21,50 and you ask to apply the coupon, you’ll be told that it doesn’t apply. Which leads you into either(a) not using it; or(b) doing what I did, which is padding the order with something you don’t want anyway and/or don’t need but puts your gross order at $ 25 or more. Dear Salvation Management: Clarify your policy or get with the program and honor the coupon without forcing your customers into ordering items just to get over the line. Great pizza. Awful, awful, awful, incompetent customer service. Eat in at 34th, avoid Rainey like the plague unless you’re drunk, stoned, or have absolutely no choice.

I selected Salvation for a corporate catering event. While the pizza was fine, I was unable to receive a receipt for our purchase despite calling for 4 days straight, requesting one each day, and being told that it would be delivered, and then it never arriving. Unfortunately, I wont be able to use them again for future events due to this reason.

First time here, asked for a vegan salad, asking them to make 100% sure the dressing was vegan. Bad idea to trust anyone anymore. Dressing had cheese, told the manager and he was unapologetic. Didn’t even offer to make me something else. From now on, I’ll tell all restaurants that I’m deathly allergic to dairy. Because no one cares that we’re vegan.

I just can’t with this place. They charge $ 22 for a 10 inch gluten free pizza with 4 toppings? And they have the audacity to burn their pizza? I just can’t. And I won’t. I will never ever go here again.

Game here on gameday, Monday night. We enjoyed the special of the night which was .10 cent wings. They have this special going on during any nfl game or Longhorns game. I had the garlic and the extra hot and both were pretty good. Gotta buy a drink but can’t beat that deal.

The pizza is a thin crust style, which goes well with the variety of toppings. If your into trying something different try the clam and bacon pizza(#9). The looks of the pizza fabricate the uncouth, or excess of, flavoring. Pizza is brackish. Service is welcoming.

Thank you finally delivering pizza to east riverside! We’ve only had dominoes and pizza hut for so long. Thin crispy crust is my favorite, and I love you for having it. I ordered a large Hawaiian and it was huge. I mean, like almost a joke huge. The middle of it was a little under cooked, but we ate the shit out of that pizza. It was still really good. Ordered the meatballs, they were also really good. Second delivery was the arranchini balls and a small margarita pizza. Wow! Those rice balls are bomb! And I don’t even like rice. The smaller pizza was still really big(totally enough for two or three) and it was totally cooked to perfection. Deliciousness. Delivery has so far been timely. Prices are a little bit higher than the crappy chains, but I’ll pay ten extra bucks for awesome pizza any day.

My spaghetti and meatballs were out of this world… seriously cosmic level. Carl Sagan would be amazed at the astronomical event that is happening in my face. Plus, there’s some pretty nice eye candy here as well. Insert winky emoticon. Butterscotch Pots Austin Crème to top it off! Best Saturday night I’ve had in a while.

No thanks. I ordered through bitesquad and received a burnt pizza and some awesome mozzarella sticks in an hour and thirty minutes. I was expecting a wet pizza(the delivery time was long) not a blackened pizza. Granted, it’s a game weekend and they’re likely slammed, but as a business owner here in Austin, I would never send something with my name attached to it that looked like that. I received a credit for the pizza on my bitesquad account, but won’t be ordering from Salvation Pizza again. The search for good pizza continues.

We love this pizza! On week nights it’s generally pretty quiet here, so service is good and fast. But usually we call in a take out order, since we can walk down to pick it up. I’ve heard there’s another good pizza place on Rainey, but salvation is so good I don’t see any reason to go anywhere else! We usually get an extra cheese pizza and salad to share. Sometimes we get calzones, or my husband likes the meatball sub.

There is so much upside for this place that they just don’t seem to hit. We came in here after seeing the big football advertisement with deals on Wings and Beer. When we got there, the Monday night game was on all three screens but the volume was off. While I understand that some people may not be there for football and just like the music but It seemed that they were trying to attract the football crowd. Any good sports bar will have the game volume blasting for all patrons to get that great game time feel. It was relatively empty but the manager was extremely friendly and attentive. We ordered 12 wings(6 garlic and 6 hot). Both tasted great but I would say the Garlic were my favorite. I didn’t have a chance to try their pizza yet so I will have to come back and give it another shot but I do suggest Game Volume to be on during big games.

Attractive location. Good service. Ordered #7 with artichoke, feta, black olives, yada yada yada. Very nice pizza. Good crust(although not overly crispy) and very flavorful, fresh ingredients. Nice balance of flavor all around. Good service. Would return. Although I’d be tempted to go to 313 across the street. Stiff competition on Rainey St.

Recently from Connecticut. Where we had one of the top 10 pizza s modern pizza. Moved to Austin last year and struggled to find a good east coast pizza loved via for a different kind of pizza but it’s not east coast. Read these guys were trying to bring east coast to Austin so I had to try. It’s pretty good. Mine was a little heavy on the basil. But floppy crust yes a little char yes. Fresh ingredient s. Yes Staff was ridiculously friendly and courteous Plenty of parking in the garage which is rare for Rainey street I’ll bring he family back and tell you what the wife thinks. Because when it comes to pizza she is the final word!

With great customer service, prime location and great tasting pizza’s this is one of my top pizza’s places in Austin. The pizza is crispy and kinda thin. They have unique flavor combinations like bacon artichoke pizza, which was amazing, aside from the traditional topping options so that is good. Also there appetizers come out fresh and are filling. I tried their meatball and it was huge with a great tasting pasta sauce. Overall, if you’re hungry while at Rainey St and craving pizza, or great tasting food for that matter, come here.
