This place is so delicious and authentic! The owners are incredibly friendly, and their food is amazing! My favorite thing to eat there is the falafel wrap. The pita bread on my wrap had to of been the best I’ve ever had! I’ve also had the hummus and baklava which are amazing too! They also have a good beer selection. My boyfriend and I love to go there with our dog and sit outside in their open seating area. We tipped a good amount and the owners were so sweet and brought us out free dessert! My boyfriend had been there previously with a Greek friend and they gave him free dessert for speaking with them in Greek! My only complaint would be, there were a lot of bugs(flies and mosquitoes) the flies got to be really intense at one point and were swarming our food. They need to try and contain the bug situation, and get some misters/fans for the summer. All in all, we will continue to go there!

THE best Greek place in town!!! It is a family-owned place and the food is delicious and authentic! The owners are really sweet. Depending on when you go, there could be a bit of a wait to receive your food but it’s totally worth it. The atmosphere is adorable. There are plenty of tables to choose to sit inside, and outside is even more quaint. They have karaōke twice a month I believe. I cannot brag about how good the food is here though. I typically just get the veggie plate and it’s so flavorful. Also, they have sangria for $ 2.50 during their happy hour. If you want to feel like you’re being hosted in Greece for a family dinner, this is the place to go.

What a wonderful treat to visit Santorini again after many years! The ambiance outside with umbrellas, blue trim and photos of the island really puts one back In that place. The well prepared, delicious, and beautifully presented food was authentic and tasted great. Service was excellent. A great find in a city that loves food!(my name was Nikoletopoulos)

Really like the location and atmosphere. It was very busy at lunch on a Tuesday. Staff is friendly, but the food did not do it for us. The gyro and dolmas were good. The fries were decent. The pastichio was very very dry and obviously reheated from another day, as well as being $ 14.00 at lunch. For the price and quality and wait not the best 1st experience.

We tried this little spot for the first time today and it was truly wonderful. It has the feel of a cozy, authentic, family-run restaurant. The food was delicious and the service and hospitality were incredible. The owner gave us a dessert on the house and even brought out a piece of Greek spinach pie for us to try.(amazing!) Loved the patio, too!

Probably the best greek food I’ve had in Austin. You order at the counter and looking qt the menu, I thought the prices a bit high, but once you tast the food, you understand why. I got a gyro and fries. The fries had greek herbs on them and were really tasty. They also have lots of tables outside for beautiful days like today. The only negative thing, which really isn’t a bad thing is that the menu is limited to sandwiches, pizzas and appetizers.

The proprietors of Santorini Café are wonderful people and super nice. Just understand the language barrier and don’t be rude about it. I love their Gyros and eat them probably too often. Happy hour is great and I am always happily taken care of. Frequently they bring out a special soup or a little desert on the house. Great place and I highly recommend.

Started the day walking Metropolitan park with my amigo, ended up coming out and walking up on this place. It seems like a pretty authentic Greek place, just blue and white everywhere. I went with the lamb gyro and it was delicious. I was slightly skeptical at first but I shouldn’t have been it was a lot of food and tasted great. I typically wouldn’t give out 5 stars but the owners gave us a dessert, on the house, so I had to hand it to them. I’ll be back.

Food — I had the lamb gyro and the falafel gyro here to go. Both were delicious. The pita bread on the lamb gyro was a bit hard but I think that might’ve been because it took me about 10 mins to get home right after I received my food. Service — The small lady with glasses was THE absolute sweetest lady I have ever encountered. I was a very difficult customer and I told her it was my first time there so she gave me a free dessert. You automatically feel the authenticity of both the food and the place itself as soon as you meet the owner. Overall, I recommend this place. It’s a good find.

Delicious and the vibe is as welcoming as I thought a café like this could never be. The three times I’ve been there have been during slow nights. The moussaka was to die for and we got some baklava on the house! It’s a wee bit pricey but it’s a nice option for a dinner night! I highly recommend the feta fries with lamb and the moussaka. The customer service is the best and the décor makes you feel like you are the guest at someone’s home. I will gladly go there again and again.

I looked up «family friendly» in Austin to meet up and bring my kids and this place is the best place I’ve ever taken my kids. We had an excellent meal, and the people here are amazing! We felt so welcome and they kept bringing snacks and were so cute with my kids. The patio is wonderful with activities and toys for the kids. The lemon chicken soup was excellent!

A charming spot to satisfy your Greek food fix! I have not kept my eye open for good Greek food since moving to Austin; however, this place is perfect for when I am looking to mix things up and enjoy food I normally do not eat at a reasonable price. The restaurant was perfect for a date lunch! Immediately upon walking in, we were greeted by the bartender whom eplxained to order at the bar, then seat ourselves. The bartender was kind, helpful, and professional. Nice guy, no complaints! When trying a place for the first time, I enjoy trying as many different dishes/items as I can. The lamb plate gave me just that: lamb, salad, pita, tzatziki, and dolmas. The portions were respectable and everything was absolutely delicious. The tzatziki was creamy and complimented the lamb well, the vinaigrette on the salad was house-made and tangy, and the dolmas were delicious. One extra dolma would have been nice, but considering I was very content after finishing the plate I will not hold it against them. For ~$ 10/plate, the value is fantastic! Finally, they even brought out a free plate of beignets to sample. They were fluffy and sprinkled with cinnamon and honey. A great way to finish off the meal. More please? Overall, a great restaurant: affordable prices, friendly service, and good food! The food didn’t blow me away to the point where I will give it 5 starts(yet), but I will continue to visit and give them opportunities to earn that 5th star.

This place is phenominal! Hubs and I went for a late lunch and were certainly not disappointed. We were the only ones in the restaurant so we were waited on by the owner who was very sweet!!! Our food was sensational! The lamb was tender and seasoned to absolute perfection. I am a french fry connoisseur and they were excellent! We also got complimentary chicken soup, greek beignets AND I also got a complimentary glass of sauvignon blanc! I felt like a kid on Christmas day! How could she have known? Oh my beating heart be still! What a wonderful afternoon we had!

I don’t know how this place has such high ratings, but it looks like everyone who dines here are less adventurous and go for a Gyro or Gryo plate. It doesn’t matter how good a Gyro is, it’s just a Gryo. A Gryo is like a sandwich or snack, and there are a lot of places to get one of these. We came for Greek food. I ordered the Mousaka, and Pasticcio. Both dishes super disappointing. Dry, flavorless. I guess these are just better homemade and difficult to produce at this scale. My husband discovered an amazing recipe for Mousaka, and I had hoped to find the richness and flavors here with the high reviews similar to what we make in our kitchen at home. But like I said, I don’t see anyone here raving about the moussaka or any photos of it. Just Gyro, gyro, gyro. I would give 2 stars but I have to give 3, b/c the couple running this place was amazing! The sweetest people you’ll ever meet! They were so kind and brought us complimentary dessert. Just lovely, so I did give a star for the service. The location is also charming.

What a great experience! Great food, great service! We ordered the lamb plate and the Musaka with beef and eggplant fries with a side salad with a side order of humus and pita. The beer(mythos) wow! What a great beer is was. A little pricey but well worth the hospitality and service! GREAT!

The family and I were in Austin for a few days and craving gyros and luckily we found this restaurant to satisfy our cravings. The vibe is quite interesting: imagine mom and pop shop with a bar. Definitely order the lamb gyro– it was delicious and I probably could have eaten another one. We were able to substitute the side salad with some fries and the owner helping us totally hooked it up with some more fries to eat with our meal. We left feeling completely full and satisfied and we were also very impressed with the hospitality and service. 5 stars!

Very much a mom and pop establishment. The couple who run this place seem like they’re always there and yet they are so sweet and kind! It is a little outdated, but that really doesn’t bother me in the slightest — it actually adds to the atmosphere. I always hit this place up when I have a craving for greek food. They do an amazing greek salad and the plates and sandwiches are good too. I enjoy the sangria also. It’s nice to eat a meal, have a drink or two and relax on their patio. Prices for everything are reasonable and bonus points for the awesome complimentary greek beignets. I’ve had the baklava too — very good. This is the type of restaurant where you can sit and reflect after a meal, have a discussion, play a game of cards, it’s very leisurely.

The atmosphere is gorgeous. A little Greek style building with Greek colored paint. The back patio is enormous. Easily fits 50+ people outside. The woman at the counter was super nice, she did not pressure me for time. The place only had 3 people, and they seemed to be s family(the nice woman seemed pregnant, an older gentleman, and another man) I ordered two gyros, one for myself and one for my girlfriend. Some Greek coffee, and pits an Tzatziki. My total was 30 dollars and I tipped them as well. They told me to sit anywhere and they would bring my food as it would take a bit to make, apparently the coffee would take the longest. My pits and humus only took less than 10 minute. The Tzatziki sauce was wonderfully seasoned. Loved the species. The pita was warm and fresh. Not old and crusty. My gyros came out after 10 minutes and they had that amazing Tzatziki sauce. The lamb was juicy!!! In the middle of eating, the gentlemen brought me a form of fluffy dont, seasoned with cinnamon, nutmeg and honey. He told me it was on the house. That was a wonderful surprise! My coffee came out after 15 minutes, but I was not upset as I was told it would take a while, plus my delicious food made up for anything at this point. The coffee was lightly sweetened and paired great with my little honey puffs. Overall the experience was amazing. I will defiantly come back again!

I’m so glad this place exists because I just visited Santorini, Greece earlier this month and I am already having withdrawals from the delicious food. I think this restaurant is pretty darn close to eating at a little family run eatery in the real Santorini. It’s not easy to get all of the fresh ingredients here that you get there, so no, the tomatoes aren’t totally rad like they are in Greece, but the menu should definitely scratch your itch for Greek food. Friendly service, adorable atmosphere, good food, nice selection of wines. 5 stars!

Charming. That’s the first word that comes to mind when one walks into Santorini café. For those of us who haven’t had the fortune of actually visiting Santorini Greece, we like to believe that the patio and the hot Greek waiter at the café are somewhat reminiscent of actual café patios at Santorini Greece. Outburst of blue and white aside, the café is tucked away in North Lamar. Initial ordering is done at the bar, manned by a lovely little lady and cute old man. I’m guessing they own the place. There’s a whole array of wines to choose from. At happy hour,(4 – 7) opened bottles of wine are half off regular price($ 7-$ 8), Sangria is $ 2.50 and bottled beer is around $ 4. I only tried a few food items off the menu. Greek beignets($ 4) and babaganouj($ 7). The $ 7 seems a bit much for a bit of babaganouj and 4 pieces of pita, but you’ll probably forget all about the price once you taste it. This ain’t no store bought babaganouj. Ain’t no store bough pita either. So good, man. The same goes with the beignets. They’re practically doused in honey and I just couldn’t have enough. I personally felt that the sangria was watered down. Then again, at $ 2.50 what can you expect? They probably don’t want patrons getting too much in the spirit and hanging off the pergola. Speaking of which, the pergola is covered with what I think is grape vines. How much more Greek can it get? I think coming here is worth the metro ride from my neck of the woods, especially during happy hour. I look forward to sampling all the delicious looking vegetarian platters they have.

I. LOVE. this place!!! Food, hospitality & ambiance is a solid 5 stars. This IS my new go to patio chill spot. I had the best damn gyro(lamb) I’ve ever had, last night. Not just delicious sliced meat, but the most tender chunks of lamb meat! It was seasoned to perfection, served on a delicious bread w fantastic tzatziki sauce. It came w a small salad, for under $ 10. Each order, we were greeted at the end of dinner w these«Greek sopapillas” — is what I called them, lol. My friends each had thr feta fries, and let’s just say there wasn’t a single fry left over! They serve beer & wine, and outside smoking is ok. The patio is awesome! Lots of seating, Christmas lights, and greenery. We used their side room to hold a weekly meeting and they were beyond accommodating. I will absolutely be back!

Unilocalers? 4&5 stars? WTF??? Did I miss something? The first couple of times I tried to dine here things didn’t work out simply because I couldn’t get service. Well today it worked out. The café is very comfy and cozy like others have pointed out. Service was friendly and the place was clean. They have some decent lunch options, but, I thought them a tad pricey. We both got the Gyro(pronounced: YEE-ROH) salad for roughly $ 10 each. We helped ourselves to some water, had a seat, and, bam! Food was on the table! The first thing I noticed was it was served in a bowl! Come on guys. Put it on a plate please. The next thing I noticed was there was no tzatziki sauce. I questioned this and was told«no, it doesn’t come with any». The bowls were well chilled and crowded with the lettuce, meat and pita bread. I layed the bread on some napkins and began my feast. The salad(mostly lettuce) was chilled, but, not fresh. There were a couple pieces of tomato and cucumber, but, they had no flavor. Parts of the lettuce were brown, and, it was all drowned in a vinegar & oil concoction. The Gyro meat was greasy and dry. Way greasy for Gyro meat. It had a flavor of beef which tasted more like those steak-ums, but, not quite as nasty. Makes me wonder what kind of beef is pressed into their lamb/beef mix. I was not happy with the salad or the meat. It was just MEH overall. As I was eating and moving things around in the bowl I came across some strange white substance that was hidden under the meat. At first I was like WTF? Upon further investigation I determined it to be the end product of liquid fat returning to its solid state. Not sure what’s going on here with the Gyro salads. From the presentation and experience I had, I would bet the salads are pre-made days in advance and kept in the fridge. As for the meat and the lard on the bowl? I can only come up with the idea that they are pre-cutting the meat then re-heating on a flat top. Whatever the case may be, there’s nothing that makes me wanna go back here.

Tasty! The lamb platter was a solid lunch at a great price. The greek salad was delicious(one of my favorite types of salad), and the pita was hot with a lightly crisp exterior and fluffy interior. The lamb was hot and flavorful, although not very juicy(it wasn’t dry though). It came with some sort of pastry, which was fluffy, crispy, and sweet — yum! Interior of the building is quite pretty, and the exterior really catches your eye. Service was good too, although it’s a order at the counter type place. A good choice if you’re in the area!
