Just want to throw out that this place doesn’t seem to be at the location on Crockett anymore. Hopefully this saves people some time.

I lived across the street for months and never really gave this place a try. What a stupid thing to do. They have the best chicken burrito I have ever imagined existing. Seriously, what is that delicious sauce?! Gods could not divine a better burrito.

El As del Taco was one of my favorite taco trucks in town, and it was a very sad day when I saw that they were no longer around in this lot. Sarita’s has taken over the spot, and is doing a good job of keeping the taco flames alive. The new truck has been around for a month, and the two owners/workers are from Tabasco and Mexico City. They know what a good taco is. The corn tortillas are handmade, thick and flavorful. The beef fajita, while slightly on the dry side, was nicely charred and delicious. The barbacoa was perfect and not greasy. Good green sauce, but the salsa roja left me wanting a bit more heat. They offered me a roasted jalapeño to pacify me — it worked. They want me to return for the menudo. I said I usually prefer pozole. They said they’d gladly make it for the taco stalker. And you, dear Austinite. Please support your local taco truck. And some more good news: El As is still around, apparently on Burleson Rd somewhere. Have you found it yet?
