Great place to bring folks for out of town for pics and prime firefly viewing!

So I drive by this everday at 6.40am and 7;10pm on my way back from San Marcos. I see people there taking pictures with family so I pulled over and hung around long enough to enjoy seeing a sunset and downtown welcome night. As Kimberely said, This scene is located 1.8 miles north of the Bee Caves intersection on the east side of 360,” and has the most awesome homes right there. I wish I lived there as you arent exactly downtown but you get the rollinghills view and of downtown. Parking is avaliable right there. I dont consider it a place where you want to have a picnic etc but it is defintely a good place to take pics or look to for inspiration to paint. I would definately take out of towners there as well.

The view, the view, the view. I LOVE a great view and this view of downtown from the hill country is no exception. Located 1.8 miles north of the Bee Caves intersection on the east side of 360, this view of downtown is framed by rolling hills on both sides and can be snapped in a moment from the car as you drive by on a clear day. I prefer the spectacular night view when it is clear out and the golden moon is low. You can also pull over into the Scenic Overlook parking lot if you want a longer look. It is a good place to think, eat a meal, have your picture taken, take a picture, paint, point, kiss… Often I have wondered — WHO is pulling over in these other cars and is it the view they are after, or something else? On one visit a couple years ago, the car next to mine had a closet-full of clothes in it. Men’s clothes. He was a fine dresser. Wing-tipped shoes, beautiful ties, pressed shirts wrapped in plastic … I could not help but think of the travelling salesman, or maybe he left his wife of 23 years to go on a grand good-looking adventure, maybe she kicked him out, or maybe his boyfriend kicked him out for dressing TOO fine. When I looked around the Scenic Overlook, there was no man. No man’s land. It was a new silver Jaguar. As I was driving by the Overlook last night, I decided to see what I could see and you know, I was completely irritated by a white hummer stretch limousine that took up half of the entry area and the drunk revelers spilling out in front of my car. I guess you never know what you will find here, and, as much as I do LOVE the view, I do not feel COMPLETELY safe here all the time.
