Excellent service and great work all around. Seamless connection with my insurance company and Enterprise for the rental. Joseph did a great job keeping me informed and I picked up the car today. It looks brand-​new!

I had a great experience here. Fernando took unbelievable care of me and my car. I was quite frustrated about how a different shop had proposed to handle the work. Fernando went above and beyond. He communicated with me daily, the repair was perfect and even addressed some issues not covered by the insurance. It was on time and 100% right.

Needed quick pairs after my car was sandwiched in a wreck. I initially only took my car there for an estimate but ended up keeping it there for the repairs. Fernando is great and was constantly calling to keep me updated about the repairs. They even finished the work sooner than they had estimated. I will go back one day (hopefully I will never need to).

Initial estimate for repair? 10 days. Final completion? 29 days! WTF? Their excuse? Your car is new/​nice and so it took a while to get parts from the manufacturer-​they blamed Audi for the delays! Best part? They didn’t submit a repair postponement form to the at fault insurance company and so I had to pay the extra amount for my rental car!!! Incompetent-​AMM Collison is waaaay better-​they are on time and don’t take jobs when they are full like these guys. The collision was a truck backing up into my parked car-​not a serious collision at all-​even my airbags did not deploy.

Second time in two years I’ve used Sterling. Each time my experience has been 5 star. Great customer service, called me 3 times a week to keep me updated. Car looks great; works great. I recommend them.

My experience with Sterling was outstanding, Richard and his team did an awesome job on my 2005 Dodge truck. They went over and above the norm, From getting my rental car set up, it was a little tough because Richard had to call a few places before finding me a car. Sterling drove me to work, and the rental company picked my up at noon and gave me the rental. Damage to my truck was heartbreaking, and to top things off I had 2 family members in the hospital (dying). Sterling kept me informed step by step on the repairs and kept reminding me everything will be OK not to worry about the claim. (I was worried about a lot of things) that helped. When I got back to pick up my truck. The entire team gave me a sympathy card and polished the whole truck!!! it was beautiful. I give Sterling Auto Body a big Thank you !

That kind of service is from the olden days.

Terrible. My daughter had a minor accident in her car. First, it took about two weeks just to get an appointment. Even after the appointment was set, I received 2 calls a day asking me to set an appointment. When she finally got in, they examined the car, then set her out several more days to get the parts (it was the light assembly for the rear license plate). Her car was then in the shop so long that Allstate cut off the rental car, and we had to get her car even though one part was not repaired. First they said they didn’t see that one part needed to be fixed, then said they had been sent the wrong part, then said they couldn’t get the part. When the part finally came in (and, by the way, the local Hyundai dealer said they had the part), it sat while they were deciding how how much to replace, and whether to bring in an a different electrician. All told, the process took 3 MONTHS for fairly small repairs, during which my daughter received a warning from the police for the missing light .
High pressure sales on the front end ot get the car in, then complete rude and unresponsive behavior thereafter.
Never again.

My Jeep had been rear ended on I-​35 and the insurance company sent me to Sterling, they ordered the parts right away, started working on my Jeep the same day I was scheduled to bring it in and called every couple days to update me on the status. It was a painless experience, they are professional, thorough and quick!

I’ve read the other reviews and I am actually surprised… or feeling pretty lucky!
I had a great experience with these guys. They called me about every two or three days to keep me posted on the progress of my repair. They were also very nice and did not talk down to me— as a female this happens from time to time in an auto shop of any kind! I would definitely recommend them.

I got into an accident on my way from Houston to Austin driving along 183. My insurance company, Allstate, recommended me to get my car towed to Sterling Autobody, so I decided, why not.
$ 6000+ and 5 weeks later, my car was finally able to be picked up. I picked it up and noticed a sound coming from the back, and I took it back to Sterling. They suspended my car in the air and said that the sound coming from the back was from a previous incident. Okay, that’s fine, I’ll go get it fixed somewhere else. But while Sterling had my car in the air, they found that the axle they had previously worked on was loose. They fixed that problem, and I picked up my car and drove it back to Houston.
I then brought my car to my trusted local auto shop to fix the noise problem coming from the back. The mechanic suspended my car in the air and found that all the transmission oil had leaked out and that another part of my car was not fixed correctly. I thought that since it took 5 weeks to fix my car, Sterling would’ve been able to fix everything in one go.
tl;dr GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

I agree with both post that were made stating that Sterling is the most unresponsive and disrespecting organization I have dealt with. The Mexican-​American office guy is the most rude person I have ever met. Allstate had recommended this organization and as a result I will switch insurance companies. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to be insulted and disrespected.

When Sgt. Pepper got crunched I was in such a panic that I didn’t think twice about where I was sending him, and I just said yes to the pre-​approved Allstate body shop that I was told was highly reputable… Uh huh…
Turning in my MINI for a loaner was a breeze, but the pleasantness stopped abruptly thereafter. The repair didn’t take long, but I don’t think calling it a repair is appropriate when you have to return the car for overheating adding another week to my initial to my repair. I have sensors that keep going off but they refuse to fix them citing that they had been previously damaged (which they hadn’t…)
I was asked to take a survey from corporate, and I think this is the first time I’ve actually taken one. Wasn’t a surprise that I got a call later from Sterling about their low marks but they weren’t apologetic but accusatory.

Meh. I’ve experienced better, but in the end I was happy with their work once the bugs were fixed. Allstate definately recommends Sterling, and the reason is that they can use USED parts and also they push non-​original maker parts. They do give you an option of using genuine manufacturer parts, though, but then your deductible is higher. In my case, I only had a rear bumper from a Mitsubishi and I didn’t need original parts — third party was fine. However, on another vehicle they caused my idiot lights to light up. They didn’t know what caused it, but they sent out a technician, who actually was REALLY smart and good, and he fixed it pretty quickly. So like I said, in the end I’m OK with the work. Their manager made sure to tell me that they would take care of it.
They are also real careful about NOT fixing ANYTHING that is not directly related to the claim — which is probably why Allstate loves them. I guess that’s OK, but in the past A/​B shops have fixed little things extra that were in the same area as the damage just so it would look perfect. These guys do not.

I have no idea how this place is still in business. Just before moving to Austin, we had a minor accident in our car. Allstate recommended this shop and set up the appointment. So, after the initial estimate, we set up a time for them to fix the car. Our family was going to be out of town for about 8 days, so we set it up so that they could get it down while we were gone.
I dropped the car off early on a Friday and heard NOTHING from them until the following Wednesday. They had just pulled it in and looked up parts for it. What? They told me it might not be ready by the weekend. Long story short, it took nearly TWO WEEKS to paint the front bumper and replace the headlight.
The worst is coming. I go down to pick it up, and when they finally pull it around, my freshly painted bumber has a big deep gouge across it. After driving through rush hour to get there, they told me they needed to keep it and repaint it. I could not get any information our of them, so I finally called my insurance agent. She was able to get them to finally finish and deliver my car.
Work was shoddy, and the paint was not done right. Nothing was lined up correctly (grille, bumper, headlights), and they could not get it lined up.
After 6 months of wrangling with Allstate, I was able to take it to another body shop, and found out that the repairs had not been done correctly, and that they had left key brackets off the vehicle when they replaced the items!
Steer clear of this place…

What a disaster. Last time I had a fender bender I took my car to AMM but decided this time to give the Allstate «preferred» repair shop a shot — a decision I am still paying for. Tomorrow I will take my car back for the 6^th time for repairs to the repairs. 1^st time because the clean up crew had snapped the control knobs of my air conditioning vents. 2^nd time was because the windshield got a crack in it when the hood was being put back on so the windshield had to be replaced. 3^rd time was because they forgot to reconnect the thingy’s that hold my hood up which was discovered when the windshield was replaced. 4^th time was because the Allstate inspector discovered the paint job on the front fender had problems and had to be redone. 5^th time was when the air conditioner quite working and they discovered there was some kind of leak in some kind of valve (the condenser was replaced during the original repair job). This time I’m taking it back in because the air conditioner has quit working again.
They are always very kind and gracious about doing the repairs but geezh. Never again.

I hit a deer out near Fredericksburg and knew it was going to be a few thousand to fix. No big deal, that is just the cost of doing business and owning a car. Sterling came recommended by a «frequent flyer» of their operation.
The service representatives were incredibly friendly and gave me almost daily updates about my car being fixed. They called me up when it was finished so I went to pay and pick it up.
When I arrived, they said my car was not finished yet. After about 40 minutes, they pulled my car around and it was freshly washed. They asked me to review the work they did. Unfortunately, it was dark and near closing time and all looked great with the repair work. I noticed some film on the car, but thought I just needed to wash it off a bit more. There was still masking tape on the car from the painting process. I told them to remove all the tape, and they sent somebody out to clean it up a bit more. They removed about half the tape. I wasn’t in the mood to be one of those gripy customers who will nitpick every detail so I figured I’d just take care of it when I got home.
When I got home I was able to see the work they did from the lights in my garage. I was shocked. The «new» paint job they did was scratched all over the place. It looked like somebody took their waxing cloth, dropped it on the ground and picked up a bunch of sand, then scoured it into the paint. Not only that, but these scratches were EVERYWHERE — even on surfaces that should have never have been touched. I could tell that the entire car had been waxed this way because they did a very poor job buffing the wax out.
I took my car to a car wash to remove some of the built up wax that had solidified, but it was on there pretty good. I took my car back to Sterling the next day, and they kept it overnight to clean up the crusty wax and left over masking tape.
That day after, they called and I went to pick it up and it looked just like it did when I brought it in. They explained that they waxed my car again and make sure everything was cleaned up, which in my mind, it wasn’t. I am paying a few thousand dollars for service and this is what I get??? I could have taken it to East Austin and paid half as much with the same results. I took a peak in the garage and didn’t hear much English spoken amongst those working on the vehicles. I wish I had done this before I went with this repair shop to help make a more informed decision.
I sometimes still look at my car when I am walking up to it and see all the scratches left on it. I have chalked it up to experience to do a bit more research on such a big pricetag. I hope you, the reader, doesn’t end up with the same results as I did.

I’m not a good driver. I know a thing or two about autobody centers unfortunately.
I was completely impressed with Sterling. This is the most organized autobody shop I have ever been to. My car was there for about two weekds and I received a call every other day to let me know what had been done and what they had left to do. They walked me through the entire bill to make sure I understood what they had done and to make sure I didn’t have any questions. They even found shotty work from a previous autobody shop and repaired that for me as well.
Very professional and very thorough.

These guys are in cahoots with Allstate Insurance (just google it). And while you’re not required to take your car there, you’re strongly encouraged by Allstate. Big mistake.
I had it towed there, and then six days later it was still sitting there without an estimate. They refused to do an estimate because they said the other guy’s adjuster hadn’t been out and they wanted to take it apart (!!) to do an estimate. Only thing is, the adjuster had been out two days prior, and no one at Sterling bothered to notice.
When I had it towed somewhere else (where they did an estimate in a hour or two and offered to work with the insurance co. on my behalf), Sterling told me I would have to pay six days of storage fees! For my car sitting there waiting on an estimate! Which maybe if they’d bothered to do, they wouldn’t have lost my service. The lady on the phone was pretty awful, too. Pass on this place!
