Shawn is really good. He works out of a tiny place but gives you a ton of 1 on 1 attention. He also really cares about you as a customer and works extra hard to make sure your bike is ready to ride when you leave the place. He communicated with me very rapidly via text message and even texted to ask for an update on the bike when I went home.

I was recently in a motorcycle accident that left my motorcycle just on the other side of being totaled. I told the insurance company paying the claim that I wanted Shawn to do the work and also to see if the bike could be fixed and not totaled. Shawn worked with them and today my bike is restored to it’s former glory with all affected parts replaced. Again, this is why I take my bike to Shawn — I didn’t have to worry about a thing while I recovered from the accident.

Shawn’s Cycle is AWESOME! Shawn is courteous, professional, and he did a great job fixing my Harley. I’ll definitely bring all of my Harley’s service needs to Shawn’s.

After seeing awful reviews for Wood’s Fun Center’s service department, I moved on looking for a more reliable shop to service my bike.
I came upon Shawn’s Cycle Shop on Unilocal and decided to take advantage of the good reviews, and couldn’t have been more satisfied. He’s a great guy, very honest and sincere with his passion for motorcycles. Although the shop is small and the fact that he gets a lot of customers on the daily, he will manage to get the job done in a timely and reasonable manner.

Shawn is such a nice guy. He treats every customer as his own. Reasonably priced labor unlike other shops (I’m looking at you Flashbikes!)
He gets things down to the detail but will never overcharge you. If some part doesn’t need replacement he won’t egg you to buy it.

Shawn is a very knowledgable and trustworthy guy. I have gone to him for repairs and parts. He gets the job done right and on time. He can get parts quickly and for the same or even a better price than you can find online. I don’t drive all the way across town to go to his shop for no reason.

Took my bike back to Shawn to install some new wheels and tires! Even though he was swamped with work he got the job done in a timely manner. My fairings had also been flapping around due to some busted tabs from hitting tire shreds. Shawn was able to drill small holes in them to tie them together. Always my go-​to bike mechanic!

Shawn is great! The downside of a one-​man shop is that, if something happens, it can drastically slow down how long the work takes to do. In my case, Shawn got jury duty and that pushed everything back several days.
The advantage, however, is that Shawn takes the time to walk you through everything and, since he’s the one who worked on your bike, he can tell you everything he did and he recommends.
I plan on bringing my bikes here for as long he’s around.

After finding this shop on Unilocal,I was very impressed and definitely the best shop I have ever dealt with. Shawn was very helpful with fixing a small leak on my Ninja ZX6R. He updated me every step of the way and was very straight forward with the time estimate and price of the repair. It was fixed in just a couple days (dropped off on a Friday) and have had no issues since.
I trust him 100% with my bike, and that is not common :) I would highly recommend giving him a chance before other larger shops.

Really great, honest work. I called in to see if I could get a new front tire installed. The shop was busy, but Shawn managed to squeeze me in AND replace my front brake pads while I waited. Reasonable prices, fast excellent service. Also gave me a free overall inspection before I left (recently bought the bike used). Will definitely be coming back here for all future repairs.

Just WOW. I read all these favorable reviews and, after having to find a place since Zabor’s unfortunately closed — and HATING woods — i went to Shawn. Man am i impressed. Super fast, very reasonable and honest. He was quite busy, but somehow managed to work me in to help me out in a jam. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND. He’ll be getting all of my business for now on. Later days woods, wish i could say it was nice.

I brought my 1986 Honda Shadow 700 to get the front caliper rebuilt and replace fluid in the clutch master cylinder. The owner got started on my bike the day after I dropped it off with the parts. He did a great job and I was ready for my 4000 mile road trip on Day 2. I had no issues with the brakes or clutch at all on the entire trip. He did the work in one day and was very helpful explaining what was getting done and why. The price was very fair. I highly recommend this mechanic.

I came back again for a tuneup a year later. Once again, Shawn took the time to walk me through what he was doing and also the small talk to make the experience that much more engaging for a biking enthusiast. Since the last time, he has spent some considerable capital on shop upgrades with tools and merchandising. I’ll be back again in 6 months for another tuneup and tire change.

Great experience! Took my DRZ400SM to Shawn for some maintenance work — carb cleaning, oil change, new tire. He did a great job. I got the impression he was very honest and paid great attention to detail. His prices were completely reasonable. I was very happy. I’ll be back!
I won’t be going back to Woods Fun Center. A friend of mine took his DRZ there and they did a super shabby job including forgetting to put the cotter pin in the rear axel and not tightening the rear axel nut. He didn’t notice until he got home that the nut was completely loose. Could’ve killed him if it had come off while he was riding

Had a fantastic experience with Shawn. Have a Kawasaki Nomad which developed tank slap on deceleration with hands off bars. The first Unilocal place I tried was a joke and why they have so many positive reviews is a mystery. They had my bike 2 days and never touched it. Was told «you shouldn’t take your hands off the bars anyway». Well no kidding but that doesn’t address a dangerous problem. Came back on Unilocal and decided to give Shawn a shot. Showed up on a Saturday morning. He got my bike on the lift, balanced the tire and discovered the stem steering bearings were notched. He gave me an estimate and appointment date. The work was done on time and the problem solved. Shawn did the work for a very reasonable price and he is focused on customer satisfaction. Plus he is simply a very personable guy willing to spend the time it takes to make you feel comfortable. To me that is really important in finding a good motorcycle mechanic. I’m quite competent with a wrench. Just don’t have a lift and many required tools but I know how to query mechanics to feel out if they know their stuff. He scored A+ across the board. He runs the place by himself so know if you take your bike in you are dealing with both the owner and mechanic. To me that is a huge. I will have no problem telling my many riding buds that if you need work done on your bike I know the guy who can help.
He may have a small shop but he provides big service. Shawn will now be my new go to mechanic for the issues I can’t handle.

I’ve not picked up my bike yet so this review may get edited but I’m thinking it’ll just get better.
After terrible experiences at Woods Fun Center I brought my CBR1000 to Shawn to swap out the coolant.
First and foremost his rates are very fair, $ 70 per hour. He also is only charging me one hour to swap the coolant when Woods quoted me two hours. I couldn’t even get Central Texas Power Sports on the phone for a quote, they’re just too busy to answer the phone.
Second he told me my bike would be ready today at noon. I’ve sat and waited for more than 8 hours at Woods so when Shawn called me right now to say he was running a bit late that really scored some points in my book.
Great service, I’ll be back!

I found Shawn’s cycle shop on here. I’m trying to rebuild the to end on my cr250 and when i took the to end off some pieces of the piston fell down into the lower engine. Which then caused the engine to cease. Shawn was willing to go out of his way to help me out. But not to mention that you can go through him to get all the parts you need so that you don’t have to hassle/​worry about getting the right part and size etc.etc. he even helped me understand what exactly was wrong and I even learned a few things. So all in all i would highly recommend his shop and will continue my business here.

Shawn is a very fair mechanic. When I first got my bike I took it over to Wood’s «Fun» Center for an oil change and they wanted to charge me $ 129. I declined that. When my buddy came into town and wanted to rent a bike we went to Shawn’s Cycle Shop. He was able to change my oil and service my chain for less than what Wood’s wanted for the oil change. He has always been fair on price and his service is outstanding! Go see Shawn for any motorcycle needs you have; he is the real deal. He is the best motorcycle mechanic in Austin.

Shawn provided excellent service when my motorcycle was in need of a little love. He was honest with his pricing and completed the work quickly. Will definitely return for future service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to others.
