Short Stop

Stupid employees. Calorie rich, processed food. Nothing special. The Chicken Slammer meal is filling, somewhat decent and cheaply priced.

Great service! Great burgers, great chicken, lovely gravy. I did not want to leave… Haven’t had a seasoned burger like this unless I’m preparing them at home. Yum.

This place has the most underrated burgers in Austin. They cook it over a flame and prepare it right in front of you. The French Fries are the best in town. The burger is a good size and cooked to perfection. Not too greasy and not too dry. And they have slushes too. The staff is always friendly and they rarely get an order wrong.

OK don’t normally review fast food places but must say they staff here are awesome! They are the most friendly staff i have ever dealt with at short stop been to pretty much every short stop and by far this is the best service i ever had at a short stop! koddles to the staff

Short stop is normally a good stop for a good grilled burger, well I decided to op for a Corn dog. I drove all the way home ready to eat my meal as I haven’t eaten all day. I see my tightly wrapped corn dog. When I unwrap all I see is the light shinning off of all the grease this dog was soaked in, the corn meal was barely hanging on. I just merely removed it from its packaging and the corn bread started to unravel. I have added a picture to this location to give you a better perspective of my disappointment, enjoy it because I didn’t. I’m so disappointed that they obviously didn’t give a sh%$ about the customer and quality food putting this thing into my bag. It is clearly burnt, clearly saturated with grease and over cooked. I mean, how is it you could allow yourself to give this to a customer.

Great classic burger/​fry/​drink combo delivered quick at a great price. I think they are too often taken for granted.

A small burger joint that is way better than your fast food chain. Need a bit of that grease fix? Grab a burger and fries that comes with a small pie at Short Stop.

For the money and speed, these burgers are GREAT. The staff is personable and funny. The fries are perhaps not as good as you’d get other places and they only give you a little kid meal-​sized sack, but that’s not really a big deal. I have never had a bad burger from this place, although I’d caution against ordering chicken in general. They have really good deals on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

I give Short Stop 5 stars because it is exactly what it promotes. Cheap fast food that will kill you if you eat too much of it. I moved right by one and hit it up a few times. It was ghetto, fast, and cheap. They even have catfish on Fridays. Eat there once every six months when you have drank too much.

Short Stop I believe is an Austin home town favorite for good cheap burgers and fries that compare to McDonalds. Wednesdays and Saturdays they have combos under four bucks.
