I visited SoCo Homebrew for the first time this week and i was impressed! not only were they well-​stocked and helpful, but the ambiance was awesome! people should drop in just to gawk at the place! Another BIG plus is they are in south austin. it has been over 20 years since we had brew supplies available in south austin. i look forward to visiting them again real soon!

What a great shop. From helpful conversation to the hands-​on experience in the grain room you will quickly see that this is a shop focused on helping local home brewers learn and grow, not selling a bunch of gear on the Internet.

Chris and the guys at SOCO Homebrew are really cool, down to earth, helpful dudes. If your in South Austin, the days of driving to South Dallas for your homebrewing needs are over. Happy Brewing!

Great spot! Purchased a Pennybacker Double IPA all grain 6 weeks ago and just tasted the 1st beer — outstanding! I will be back and highly recommend you try SoCo Homebrew because of the customer service, products, and ability to put together very good all-​grain kits at a reasonable price. I’ll be back.

I’m so happy this place is here! I’ve just recently gotten deep into the beer brewing hobby, and I couldn’t have had any success without them. They’ve been very eager to helpfully answer my questions, and they don’t try to sell me extra junk I don’t need. Prices are fair and usually the same as online.
There are two things on my wish list for soco homebrew. One is a better recipe system. I did one recipe from them and it had just enough typos in it to make me wonder what they really meant. Two is a better website, with ability to buy items, or at least see what’s available in-​store.

I’m so happy these guys opened a store in South Austin. Not nearly the size of the other homebrew shop in Austin, but with much more focus on the local customers. The other place makes their living on shipping all over the country and locals often show up to find they’re out of items regularly.
SoCo Homebrew has always had everything I need in stock, and now they’re even stocking Blacklands Malt from Leander! If you’ve never brewed with this local malt, you’re missing out and SoCo Homebrew is the place to get it.
Every experience I’ve had there has been awesome, and I always get into some good brewing conversations with the guys there, as they’re all accomplished homebrewers and really know what the customer needs. That and not having to drive an hour roundtrip to get what I need is always a plus. Keep up the great work fellas!

South Austin gets a homebrew store! Awesome alternative to fighting traffic to go to the other store in town, this place will make a lot of us down south happy. I’m sure it’ll result in a lot more brewing here in the laid back and awesome end of town, and brewing makes for happy Texans. Be happy, make beer, visit SoCo Homebrew and see for yourself.

Great place, chris and the other sales staff are helpful and friendly. They have a great selection and are conveniently located in south Austin. Good amount of wine supplies and have malts other supply stores in Austin don’t have.
