What a fab little shop at the Domain! An amazing selection of boots coupled with unique clothes, a decent sale rack, some sweet accessories and buckets full of free beer koozies, and we have ourselves a winner. Friendly customer service. Some of the stuff was a bit pricey but nothing outlandish for what seems like good quality. Snagged a super cute southern thread v neck from the 50% off rack for $ 19 and change. Wish I’d looked around a little harder but I had my toddler(aka ticking time bomb) with me. I’d come back on my next trip to Austin. Worth a browse!

I love this store! The customer service is always excellent. They always have great items on the clearance rack. There are a ton of gorgeous boots to choose from and the clothing is beautiful. I have never been unhappy with a purchase at this store!

I purchased several shirts at the Barton Creek Mall location as Christmas gifts. I needed to exchange two of them for different sizes, but when I went to the Mall three days after Christmas to make the exchange, the store was closed as in out-of-business and everything had already been removed. How very odd that customers were not made aware of this when making their purchases! I made a call to the only other Austin location which is 18 miles further, and was told that items could be returned there IF the items had not been on the 50% off rack. Again, I had not been made aware of this when I made the purchases(buy one, get the second one 50% off). At any rate, I will make the 18-mile trek to attempt to exchange the two shirts, but I will NEVER buy another item from Southern Threads. I was also told by the manager at the other location that they had no idea that the Barton Creek location was closing. I found this to be very odd and probably a very unsound business practice.

I don’t think I can compliment this place without sounding like I’m exaggerating. I went into the store earlier in the week just to take a look, from what I’d heard on the radio it sounded like just the place I wanted to shop. Around the evening of the 26th of January, 2011 I went in just to look around. I was immediately greeted by an employee and was greeted more cordially than I would expect a customer service agent to be. She pointed me to a few very nice shirts, making suggestions immediately regarding things that might flatter me. Again, not used to this friendly of treatment. I was a bit unsure at the moment but I was determined to come back. I went there again tonight, 01/28/2011. Two guys were working. I explained that I’m extremely colorblind, capable of really only telling black from white and I can recognize blue as well. The two gentlemen were friendly without the slightest hint of condescension. One of them spent a good deal of time helping me figure out quite how to roll my sleeves up, how to wear these fine clothes. The two managed to help me immensely while offering the same stellar service to whomever would walk in. And wow… the two shirts I bought are uniquely designed and I can tell by touching them that the cotton is thin but strong. I set up this Unilocal!account for the sole purpose of complimenting this establishment.
