This place is nice. It is 100% paved, decent with the shade and for the most part friendly people. There’s not a lot of straight-a-ways to peddle 1,000 miles an hour but it is possible to keep a good pace through the twist and turns and«Narrow Bridges» for the entire 14 miles.(14, starting at one end and going to the other) I have only started South(Govalle Park) and rode north, I can say after the YMCA turn the rest of the trail is a steady up hill climb. All in all, if you looking for length and leisure this place works. Also if the other trails in Austin are recently muddied but you still need to ride, this place works again.

Well, I am hesitant to write this review to share such an amazing secret with the rest of the world. This trail is for biking only. Begin: At the YMCA off 51st& Ed Blustein/183OR Govalle Park Park: Anywhere Once you venture down the hill(by the YMCA entrance), you have an option: go right or go left? I chose right. Why? Because it’s EASIER! Going left takes you to Manor, TX. It’s also apparently quite a bit more challenging(so I hear). I’m not quite sure if that side completely goes to Manor yet but it’s in the works. See: The right route takes you allllll the way to Govalle park. Yes, that’s right. The entire path is practically brand new, in fact VERY recently the part going to Govalle was finished. This trail is ONLY for people on bikes. There are no walkers. I do not recommend you come here without a bike, you will not survive. It is wide enough, with a dotted line going down the middle for people going both ways. It is not overrun with people practically on top of you or behind, and people are happy to let you go around them. No one is racing through, merely enjoying the peaceful mood, and most people say«hello» or «good morning.» The scenery is beautiful(you know, if you like trees and water), the paths are new and perfect, smells of pee pee and sewer sometimes sneaks up into your nostrils, and enjoy the nature of east Austin. It really is impressive the city of Austin built this trail.
