Stepping Stone School

I just have to continue to brag on Stepping Stone on Red River. My toddler injured herself and has a split on that requires no walking. It’s is almost 9pm at night and the Principal has responded to my texts so that we can coordinate her care for tomorrow-​to make sure I being what I need (pillow for propping, her umbrella stroller, etc) as well as checking what is for lunch to make sure she won’t have a difficult time eating or that it is messy and gets on her splint. They truly care for your children as if they were their own.

Visiting Austin for the summer, I needed a drop in program for my 2 year old daughter while I went to work. I couldn’t have found a better school for her than Stepping Stones. The teachers all treated her like she was a regular student-​engaging her in all the art and music activities, making sure she ate and napped, and helped her learn to play with others (did I mention this was her first school experience?!) Although hesitant at first, she quickly grew attached to the teachers and learned all her friends names (and knew their blankets). She loved splash day on fridays, music day, and was always so proud to show me her art hanging on the wall when I picked her up in the evenings. I was always impressed with the snack/​lunch menu, how clean her classroom was, and could definitely tell she was learning while at school. Stepping Stones made it easy for me to not have to worry about my «baby» while I was at work. After picking her up, I always looked forward to receiving the daily email recapping her day-​even able to see a photo of an activity she did! I look forward to visiting Austin again so I can take her back and can definitely say I wish this school were closer to home! Thank you to all the wonderful teachers at Stepping Stones for taking care of my baby :) A hui hou!

My son has been enrolled since July 1, 2013 and a month later I have had so many problems. I talked with the director about these problems and concerns being fixed and I was made many promises such as a new teacher being placed in his class who has experience, the ratio being kept at 2:10 and a new student came in 2 weeks later. a new teacher was not placed in his class and the log that is suppose to be filled at through out the day was stilled be filled out at the end of the day, so it was accurate at all. I was lied to by his teacher so many times and I told the director and I feel that the teacher retaliated against my son who is 1. I will not ever recommend this daycare to anyone and specially for the price I was paying.
