Variety, and new techniques! I’ve played many sports and have been going to the gym for years so working out is not new to me, and I often get bored with running and etc. I feel like Jessica works at your level and balances your skills with encouragement to expand your workouts with great new techniques. Most people know how to do a sit-up, however Jessica shifts things to redefine the movement and then you find yourself thinking, «WOW, my abs are working!». After every sessions, Jessica has taught me many different workouts that I have never experienced before. And she focuses on what you need from each work out to meet and keep your goal. One of the most valuable aspects of training with Jessica is her focus on the integrity of each movement throughout the workout. It is challenging when you are at the gym or working out alone to push yourself to slow down and truly focus on lifting weights correctly or doing a squat/Pilates/yoga/strengthening move to the fullest extent of your capability. Jessica is a real find as far as Pilates instructors go(actually, she is a great find as far as nice people go also!) She is super knowledgable in regard to her trade and very intuitive to her clients needs. She focuses on what each individual client needs and hopes to gain out of each Pilates session and goes the extra mile to accommodate each persons injury, goal, or request as for what they hope to achieve through pilates. If you are looking for a great Pilates instructor, Jessica is it!

Jessica is a great teacher. She doesn’t get all Major Boot Camp on you, but she keeps you motivated. It’s refreshing to have an instructor who keeps the mood light and doesn’t make you feel like a rookie if you’re not the most advanced swan on the stability ball. She’s very knowledgeable about instruction and each individual’s needs. You’ll never get bored, because you’ll never do the same thing twice! I highly recommend Jessica Sterns!

Jessica definitely gives you a good workout. She’s great at mixing things up, so you don’t get bored with the same thing every week. In such a short time, I feel like I’ve made great progress! Jessica is very knowledgeable about the body and her explanations are easy to understand. I’m amazed at her intuitiveness as well. She is good about offering suggestions about stretches or exercises you can do to improve any area that you’re having trouble with — and they work! Plus, she has a great sense of humor! So, besides being good for you physically, the sessions are also very fun. I highly recommend her! Sorry Seattle, but I am really glad she came to Austin!

I started working with Jessica, in Seattle, to help strengthen and balance my muscles for my work as an aerial performer. After just a few sessions I was already noticing a distinct difference in the control and stability I had in the air. This woman really knows her stuff! I am sad(and quite reluctant) to search for a new pilates instructor now that she’s in Austin. :(

I began pilates with Jessica to improve my body for performance salsa dancing. My skill, body control, and technique increased greatly with her help. I especially loved that she spent the time to research salsa and learn what I was trying to get my body to do so that she could work out exercises specifically for my goals. Every session worked me hard, taught me more about my body, and made me a better dancer. That kind of specific attention to students and our goals really makes Jessica stand out. Jessica formed a community around her practice, as a very outgoing and fun center. Working with her was always a joy and all of her students really miss her… we still talk about it. Seattle’s loss is Austin’s gain.

Jessica is a great instructor who communicates well, is thoughtful, and highly skilled in the ways of pilates. She kept me strong, flexible, and injury free throughout both biking and ski seasons and I highly recommend her!
