Stonegate

The complex is fine, maintenance was decent, the staff is nice, etc. However, there are several things you need to be aware of before moving here.
First of all, for some reason we were being charged $ 82 for a month. The most I have EVER paid for water at any complex is $ 30. I talked to the water company and they said it’s because they hadn’t been receiving meter rates from the complex so we were being charged for the last recorded rate (which had clearly been in effect since before we moved in). So I talked to the office and they said that part of the reason they had switched water companies is that the meters were being neglected and that they were «working on it». Nothing ever changed. We paid almost $ 1000 for water in a year. That’s an ABSURD amount for water. I asked about it several times and it was obvious that no one cared.
To top it off, I recently moved out and they’re claiming I never turned in my gate clicker. I am now being charged $ 75 for it. I talked to the complex office and even the corporate office but without a receipt (which no one offered me), there’s «nothing they can do». As if I just have an extra $ 75 to give them because they messed up.
I am so frustrated with this complex and SO glad to be elsewhere.
Good luck, if you decide to live here make sure you get receipts for EVERYTHING.

I liked the apartment, spacious and fairly quiet aside from fighting neighbors, barking dogs, etc. Move out fees are horrible though. If it isn’t totally spotless when you leave expect to be out hundreds. We cleaned well and still got charged tons for them to reclean. Not to mention they replaced the carpet due to pet urine– and we do not and have not ever had a pet… Which means a previous renter was responsible. Ridiculous.

I found myself in a predicament and needed to find somewhere to live in a week, Stonegate team members were very understanding and helped me with the process. This was the nicest apartments I have lived at and the management were very helpful and kind. The sales associate Karen Currie was also very helpful during the move out, so when you are looking for a new apartment go see her!
P. s. this apartment is very close to south park meadows shopping center! And only a few minutes from downtown austin.

We love living in this community. It’s quiet and family-​friendly and well-​maintained. Management staff is always helpful and available when needed.
My only complaint is that when you choose to pay online, which is presented as a more convenient way to pay, there is a $ 40 «convenience» fee that gets tacked onto your rent payment. This, to me, is excessive.
We choose to pay with a cashier’s check instead to avoid the extra expense.
That’s my only issue with the place. It’s otherwise a nice community to live in and has a friendly staff.

I’d be happy living here expect I have the worst neighbors ever! I mean they throw their trash and food over the balcony, when I finally told them to stop their excuse was…“its biodegradable”, threw their weed ashes at me and that was it. Be a good hippie and get a compost pot like a normal person. They let their rambunctious kids run around until midnight or later. I’ve had a picture fall off the wall from them banging around so much. It was much quieter when I lived at student housing on Riverside. The apartment does nothing about it. They’re absolutely worthless when it comes to solving a problem. I’ve been here a month and have nothing good to say so far. Hopefully when the trash moves out above me my view will change.

We’ve lived at Stonegate for 3 ½ years and love it. The staff are always friendly and helpful when any situation arises. I love the location, easy on and off access to the highway (important for commuting) and mature trees help keep the high temperatures a bit at bay.

We have lived here for almost 4 years. We love the location and grounds. Never had any issues with neighbors or management. Maintenance is always quick and efficient. I would highly recommend this property :)

Loved Stonegate! My boyfriend and I lived there for 4 years while we commuted to Texas State. Maintenance guys, Sergio and Dan were always super nice. Complex is beautiful, tons of trees and space to walk my dog. Pools and hot tubs, hot tubs would not be hot sometimes but always got fixed. My complaint about the pool would be to open the bathroom up again at the bottom pool (yes, there are 2pools!). Front office always nice and professional. Quick responses to requests. I wish I could move back. Loved it!

Recently moved out after calling this place home since 2008. Like others have said, this is a beautiful complex located right off I-​35 in South Austin near Cowboy Harley Davidson. Been here long enough to see management, several staff changes and physical upgrades but overall, I had a very pleasant experience. Couple of positives to point out:
*This is a very quite complex unless you live in a building near the interstate. Only a handful of times did i hear noisy neighbors late into the night.
*Maintenance guys were very courteous and always quick with repair request.
*Grounds were always kept clean
*Had nothing but positive things to say about all the office staff, even as I watched several leasing agents and managers come and go.
*This is a large complex built on a large hill that was spaced out enough so it never felt crowded and gave it an open, rural feel. It also made for enjoyable jogs around the property.
*Pool is big and cleaned often. The fitness room is pretty small but has your standard dumbbells, treadmills, elipticals and machines weights. Also has a washer, dryer room and a meeting room with a kitchen area and pool table.
*Has city trash bins that are emptied twice a week.
Negatives:
*Walls are thin which meant I easily heard my next door neighbor’s barking dog, loud music and or arguments.
*Those times when your in a hurry to get somewhere and 35 traffic is slowed by a wreck and the frontage road is bumper to bumper. This happens more often than you can image!
*This place resurfaces the parking lot once a year for two weeks so parking tends to become headache during that time.
*For pet owners, there is no dog park.
By in large, the positives far outweighed the negatives. In my 7 years of living here, I can honestly say it was an enjoyable experience aided by a wonderful staff and great location.

We had a wonderful experience at Stonegate. Cassandra and Erin in the office were always patient and willing to work with us. The maintenance staff is friendly and responded to requests in a relatively timely manner. And grounds are kept impeccably neat. Lived there for over a year with no complaints.

Overall, Stonegate is a wonderful place to live if you are looking for an apartment in South Austin. The location (besides fighting I-​35 traffic) is absolutey wonderful. They are right across the street from Southpark Meadows, which is a massive shopping center. The property that Stonegate is built on is beautiful with lots of land and places for your dog to run around.
The apartments and grounds are well kept and maintained. I have lived in many apartments and this is by far THE BEST maintenance program I have ever had. They are super quick to respond to any maintenance requests. They also notice items themselves around the grounds and take care of it before you even have to ask. There is never trash or anything out of place laying around. It is also well landscaped.
The apartment staff is very friendly and accommodating. They always remembered and knew my name and greeted me as I walked in. Makes you feel like they really appreciate you! They were also flexible when I was looking to move into a smaller apartment to save money.
Overall, this is a great community and complex to look at if you are moving. The only reason I decided to move is because the complex was getting a little too pricey for me.

My BF and I lived in the Stonegate apartments from July 2012-​July 2014 and really enjoyed the grounds, services and location. I’ve lived in a few places in South Austin and found Stonegate to be the best apartment we lived in.
We were in a 1 bedroom in Bld 14 on the 2^nd floor, our apt came with hardwood (laminate) floors except in the bedroom and a garage attached. Our patio had a fantastic view of the wooded area behind the complex, I-​35 was right behind us but we were never awoke by the traffic. Occasionally we’d be woken up by cars passing through the gates but it was never an issue. The neighbors we did meet were awesome and watched out for us when we were out of town and visa-​versa.
The grounds are lovely and well taken care of, the pool was always clean and the tenants acted like adults. Stonegate is unique in the aspect it’s all built on a big hill, the 2 properties were spaced out enough so it never felt too crowded and there were only a couple of times I was not able to find parking. Our experience with the office staff was great! They were always very helpful and courteous whenever we had a question or needed something fixed. We got a puppy about a year into our stay and had a few complaints filed against us due to the noise. I spoke to the manager Kyle at the time and he seemed understanding that a 6 week old Lab puppy living on a 2^nd story apartment with hard wood floors would make some inconvenient noise at times. I’m glad we were never fined for this because there were times I could have sworn the neighbors were going to call the cops on us. Even after the original management left we were still satisfied with the front office and always found them to be accommodating.
Upon move out we had some damages from our 2 year stay, we were sure we’d not see our deposit and even have to come out of pocket but low and behold we got all but $ 60 back from Stonegate. I was shocked because apartments giving you a fare-​well ass-​raping is standard operating procedure at most places when one moves out. I feel sorry for the low reviews for this place because we never experienced anything negative here and hardly heard anyone really complain during our stay. This is probably not the best apartment for kids but for singles or couples we found The Stonegate to be perfect for us.

We have lived here for less than a month and this place is disgusting. One of the worst apartments we have ever had.
When we moved in, it wasn’t clean. There were stains all over the kitchen cabinets, cigarette butts left on the patio (we don’t smoke), and PILES of dead bugs in the corners and bathrooms. Yes, piles. We also found rusty nails in the carpet, and my boyfriend stepped on a large sewing needle left on the floor in a bedroom. The office did absolutely nothing about this when we told them about this, no offer to clean, no offer to allow us to speak to a manager.
We put in a request for cleaning and they never came. There were also several LARGE holes in the kitchen ceiling that took a week and a half to fix.
After less than a week we noticed that we had this awful ant infestation in the master bedroom/​bathroom. They sprayed for ants, but 2 weeks later they returned and are now EVERYWHERE. All over the kitchen/​dining room/​closet. It is practically unlivable now. My boyfriend and I have bites on our hands and feet from them.
Grounds are gross too. Muddy, overgrown, and just generally run down.
Stay away. We are counting down the days until out lease runs out. This is unacceptable.

I’ve lived at Stonegate since 2012, and I have loved every moment I’ve been here. The office staff couldn’t be nicer or more professional. I never feel like I’m burdening them when I go into the office or when I call.
The community itself is great. The landscaping is beautiful (even if I wasn’t so fond of some changes they made this past year) and I don’t feel like I’m feet from 35, even though you can clearly see it from many parts of the complex. The maintenance staff work very hard to make sure everything is in great shape, and it shows. We noticed the pool in part 2 of the complex was getting gross looking at one point, so we called the office and it was cleaned the next day!
I have very few things I dislike about Stonegate, but since honest reviews are helpful, here you go: (1) the gate into part 2 is often broken. I think it’s probably from over-​use, since it’s the only gate, but still somewhat frustrating. (2) Neighbors are generally quiet but if you happen to be near a shared wall, you can hear through it… at least if they have young children. However, that’s just a part of apartment living. (3) There are some raccoons that like to hang out in the dumpsters at night!
All in all, I love it here. Unfortunately, we are moving out at the end of our lease since we felt the price for our apartment would no longer be appropriate with the new rent amount, but if price were no factor, there would be few things that could make me leave! I’ll be sad to go, but if things don’t work out elsewhere, I know where I can come back to :)

Please do not do business here. At first I loved Stonegate but November 13^th 2012 my fiancé assaulted me in front of my son. He was arrested and a protection order was put out and he was charged with the crime his mug shot is online. I gave the legal paper work to their office in tears and visible bruises and Kyle the manager did not follow Texas law and left me a single mom and my little boy in debt. Legally if there is a fear for your safety none the less fellow residents they don’t care. They want you to keep living there or pay. They do not care whom is on their premises and for that I’d worry for your own safety and children. This is not legal nor good business. Please please be weary of these awful staff. The apartments are gorgeous but they let criminals run around without concern. I want others to know because I’d want to know as a community.

Fake staffs and deposit money theft !!!
They will be so nice to you when they show you around the complex, forget that after you sign the contract. What a fake. You can say goodbye to your deposit money as well !!! They will add up some stuffs to match your $ 200 deposit. Stay away from this complex. Went home at 2 AM something in December 2011, and I saw 4 Cops car in the complex. 2 in the drive way from Slaughter Overpass and 2 cars on the Building 14, right by the rear entrance. Saw cops looking around with flashlight !! Their gate often broken, and dont get fix for 1 – 2 weeks !! STAY AWAY !!!

We have been here for 5 months and really enjoy it. The apartment itself is great and there have been zero issues– nothing has broken or needed any maintenance attention whatsoever. Quiet neighbors, very friendly office and grounds staff. The clubhouse is great, with a beautiful pool area, game room, business center, gym, and TV lounge. The second pool is nice but not quite as impressive as the one behind the clubhouse, but both have hot tubs and grills for residents to take advantage of.
The only things we are not crazy about are the laundry facilities that are really small and always busy because there are 4 washing machines and 4 dryers. There is the option to rent them through Stonegate but we are trying to conserve money so we try and use the ones in the clubhouse at off-​peak times, like late at night (luckily they are 24 hours). The gym is also typically busy but people are nice and don’t hog the machines or anything.
Overall very satisfied with the apartment, community, and staff.
