Storey Construction

Storey construction completed the remodel and painting of a move-​in for us this summer. John was more than helpful with regards to color choice, pricing and timely service. The painters and construction contractors were quick, efficient and easy to communicate with as well as being clean and respectful of the property. They are also a family owned business which is rare theses days. I highly recommend Storey Construction!

I used Story Construction to do an add-​on remodel and was very happy with the experience. Ty did a great job keeping the project on time and on budget. John was also great to work with and his attention to detail was very much appreciated. He went out of his way to make sure the little details were addressed and had his crew fix several small things without me having to point them out. Even after the project was done, and they were paid, they came back to fix another minor detail that needed taken care of. I would recommend and use them again.

While I’m sure Storey does great work, I, unfortunately did not have the opportunity to take advantage of it. I contacted Ty on a thursday morning. We spoke about my desire to get a closet put into a bedroom quickly. While he did not have any availability with his crew, he told me he’d contact someone else and see if he can squeeze me in. I was promised that he’d call me back by 3pm. 6−7pm rolls by and since I haven’t heard from him, I sent him a text. I didn’t receive any response to the text until Friday saying that he thinks we’ll be good to go and that he’ll let me know by Saturday at the latest. Again, I received no contact from him on Saturday, and in fact, nothing until Tuesday. When he contacted me on Tuesday, I was not near my phone, so he left a message. I called him back 10 minutes later and he didn’t pick up, so I left him a message. NO CALL BACK — surprise!!! I commend Ty for being super helpful, nice, and willing to work with me and this is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. But he he really needs to be better about following up when he says he will. Initial contact with customers is the most important first impression, and the one he left on me was extremely poor.

I can say enough about Ty Story and Storey Construction! We had just bought a lower-​cost «fixer upper» and it needed some dressing to make any kind o appearance. There were many timing issues to meet and Storey was right on the money every time we needed a semi-​miracle. The trim out was so precise that the painters said the caulk and trip paint was a joy to them (they do sniff the fumes as well so.
I would recommend Storey Construction at the drop of a hat! Ty has shown impressive work. Most of my friends and colleagues are CEO/​executive management-​types and I would put them with Storey without any concern. Kudos for a job well done!

I have one of the few houses in Austin with a full basement. During the flood of October 2013 my basement flooded in 3 different areas. I desperately needed wet carpet removed and sheet rock replaced. Ty Storey responded quickly when I called, he got his crew in for the clean up and repairs.
After that project was finished we talked over what could be done to prevent any flood damage in the future. Ty drew up a plan to trench out the area around a low window, to re-​landscape my side yard and finally to build a large patio along the front of the house to slope the runoff from the roof away from the house. It was a big project and took weeks to complete, but I thought the bid was reasonable.
Why did I wait 5 months before writing my Unilocal review? Last night we got the first big rain storm since October, it dumped about 4 inches in about 30 minutes. NOT A DROP in my basement. All the modifications worked perfectly! A big thank you to Ty and his crew for a job well done.

Ty was recommended by a friend when I decided to replace my water heater and bring my home up to code. He quoted me a price and when his crew found that the job was more complicated than anticipated, he didn’t charge me more than what he had quoted. He and his crew did a great job. The water heater is now 3 years old and still working great!

What a great experience we had with Storey Construction. Ty is friendly, knowledgable and reliable. My husband and I have worked with him through multiple phases of a remodel.
