Stricklin Landscape Architecture

I’ve been working with Ron Stricklin for over a year now to design a landscape plan for both the front and back yards, and his team does our bi-​weekly yard service. I am such a fan of these folks! Ron is a pleasure to talk with, and it’s clear he has deep knowledge and passion for his work. He has so many creative ideas. He also really listens to my ideas, preferences, and concerns instead of just presenting his own vision as the expert.
I can’t believe how much time he spent on the process of the front yard plan for the price he charged and I kind of worry that he lost money on the deal. I really liked paying for the plan itself, though, so I didn’t feel like I «owed» him doing more work right away that we weren’t ready to commit to right now. And since doing both yards is going to be the cost of a very nice car, we have to be really ready. But when we are we’re definitely going to go with his firm.
For regular maintenance, I haven’t been very proactive with them about things that need doing around the yard, and to their credit, his team hasn’t just started hacking down plants thinking we wouldn’t want them. Ron was at the house recently and we discussed a few things so I’ll come back and update this when I see how that’s going. For the work they’ve done so far, they’re super-​reliable and quick, and they keep us out of trouble with the neighbors. Also, unlike with a previous company we used, his team doesn’t smoke cigarettes while pushing gasoline-​powered mowers across crunchy brown grass during a drought. I really like that! :)
Actually I’ve worked previously with 2 different lawn maintenance companies here in Austin, and one of them did a front yard plan for us as well. We didn’t use it because the designer ignored what I asked for. The experience with Stricklin Landscape Architecture is so much better. You really do get what you pay for, in this case expertise and professionalism.

From the first time Ron came out to do an estimate I knew he was the right guy.
I had a general vision in mind for how I wanted to xeriscape the front of my yard in front of my bull wire fence but I needed someone that could take that outline and fill in the details to truly build what I was envisioning. Ron was the perfect man for the job. He really listened and built off my ideas instead of just defaulting some standard template. I posted two pictures of the final product so you can see just how great it looks
The work was completed fast, on time, and on budget. I’ve been recommending him to anyone that will listen. I’m so glad I chose Ron.

A caveat;
We did not use Ron’s company for the work we are having done, but we had such a good experience with him that I feel compelled to review him.
The review:
Great guy with great ideas. I really wish we could have gone with Ron and his team but we couldn’t make the budget work.
