Super cute clothing at this boutique. I do feel that 68 dollars is a little steep for a sheer tank top, but hey, all is fair in love and boutiques. It is so what expected. They also have cutesy jewelry. The staff is young and can be snotty or unhelpful at times. Everyday shopping here is definitely out of the question, but once in awhile can’t hurt.

Strut as a whole has a great selection of clothing and I was excited to walk in there today with their 40% off sale to find a New Years dress. Unfortunately, this time around I left upset at how the girls that worked there handled a pricing situation. I tried on a size M dress that was marked at $ 59. After trying it on and realizing it was a little bit big, my sister brought me the same exact dress in a size small. I decided to take the small and realized it was marked at $ 65 so I asked if there was a reason for the difference in pricing. They said it was a mistake and that the price for that dress regardless of the size was $ 65. People make mistakes so I let it go and decided to still take the dress. Before I went to the register I went back to the rack that had the dresses and realized that two other dresses were also marked $ 59 and one was a small. So I switched out my $ 65 small for the $ 59 small. At the register, the one ringing me out asked the other girl what she should charge me and she said $ 65 to which I protested that it was marked $ 59 and she said «I mean it IS 40% off already». Despite their lack of customer service, I took the dress anyway. Call me stingy or cheap but that’s not the way to handle a customer. I’m a firm believer that the customer is not always right but in this situation I was right. And it was clearly marked on several price tags. Hopefully management teaches their employees better.

As far as S Austin boutiques go, this one was OK. I had higher expectations given the reviews, but my disappointment was varied once I was there.
First, the clothes were cute, but I do feel like some were overpriced. That said I bought a shirt from the clearance rack and have been complimented on it several times. I also bought a fantastic necklace which I also get compliments on.
Next, the staff needs improvement. One girl was working the entire front end of the store. It was clear she was new– and nervous. I asked her several questions, most of which the answer was «I don’t know». However, at one point she said, «oh, I’m not going to know the answer to that.» The biggest issue I have with this is that there were 2 other ppl working in the back room– within earshot– that should have helped her. Needless to say, checkout was particularly difficult for this nervous worker, still not being aided by anyone else.
Last, out of all the shoes on the wall, not one pair had my size available– I wear a size 8, so nothing out of the norm. But, most frustrating, said nervous worker had to go ask said unhelpful workers if they did have my size in each and every shoe I inquired about. Finally, I asked if they had any shoes in my size, to which they replied, «yeah… It’s unlikely. The booties go really fast.» Awesome, may suggest increasing inventory on the most popular sizes?
So, 3 stars for being poorly run. Even with cute clothes, a poorly run store can be a deal killer.

This place caters to all your boho-​edgy fashion trend needs. They have GREAT sales that happen frequently (join e-​list) and pretty affordable clothes (unless you shop here on a daily basis like muah)
My only complaint is their return policy. It’s kinda inconvenient because if you want to return it has to be within a week or so but who has time for that?
Anywho, I LOVE StRuT. I shop here for all my occasions whether that be ACL or a fancy night DT :)

This place has great sales. I buy a lot of birthday gifts here for my girl friends. Current trends and styles and reasonably priced. The girls that work there are pleasant and helpful. Always good sunglass deals FYI!

I like Strut a lot and always hit up their clearance rack first. Their sizes vary by the brand of clothing. I will say that their clothes does tend to make me feel fat when trying on skirts, shorts or anything around the waist. I do best with their shirts, and dresses. Their Large is probably a size 8 in a lot of clothing. I wear a ¹²⁄₁₃ in juniors and 140 lbs. so not exactly obese. I just figured they cater to the more svelte Austinite. I work out 5 days a week like the usual Austinite, but unfortunately just not enough to fit into Strut bottoms.
Enough sob story lol. I buy bandu bras, shirts, glasses, jewelry and anything else that fits. They just started carrying yoga pants and sports bras. I wasn’t feeling the pants myself, but the price on them isn’t bad at all …$ 38.00. The customer service is always great and I have yet to find a piece of clothing that I didn’t like. Sometimes I want to buy their fancy dresses, but then realize I have no where to go in them. Heck I don’t even club like I used too (which is another sob story! anybody want to go gay clubbing with me? heheh)…
Strut is a must stop shop if you live in Austin, and I will go back when I get paid lol

What I love about Strut is their ability to have the perfect amount of options for browsing. I never feel overwhelmed when I come ready to shop & buy! In full transparency, I’ve never bought anything from Strut full price. Do yourself a favor & sign up for their emails, then wait for their BOGO 50% or Everything 40% promos.
For occasional wear and trendwear, this is a great stop. I shop here to supplement my classics/​basics from Banana Republic, Loft & Zara. They have cute, stylish clothing, along with accessories (jewelry, scarves, bags, sunglasses) & shoes.

I always get my sunglasses from here– they are $ 10 and super cute– I tend to lose my sunglasses A LOT or drop them into porta pottys (twice now), so at $ 10 a pop it isn’t the greatest loss in the world. A few others have mentioned that every first Thursday everything in the store is 40% off. You can find some really cute stuff here, though I don’t know any of it is worth the cost not on sale, as it isn’t the highest quality. Very trendy and carries a lot of great accessories like purses and jewelry. You can find me in here every few weeks trying on shoes and stocking up on sunglasses!

I have had worse experiences though the clothing is well priced. There is sometimes a flaw with the workers checking damaged items and putting them on the floor. I recently purchased such an item and was surprised of the explanation of how I could not exchange it, even with the tag on it bc I did not keep the receipt. There was no regard to the shirt being damaged and put on the floor only a remark that I should bring it to buffalo exchange. Thanks for the reminder of how rad that place is.

I popped into this store while I was in the mood for spending some money and gettin some new digs. I really liked how small it was, I didn’t feel bombarded by the selection which happens to me a lot! It was a very select amount of clothing but the perfect amount for browsing. The gentleman at the register was very attentive but not too attentive to drive you away.
I got a couple nice things and was on my way! I really liked the selection and the prices were affordable, too. I didn’t have to spend an arm and a leg which would really put a damper on those cute outfits I just bought.
Anyway, all in all it seems like a really great boutique shop that is easy to pop in and check out!

Love a love love this location. The staff are always helpful and accommodating, even when they are super busy. I like the lay out of this store and how it’s always organized — I never feel overwhelmed by a gigantic mess or a huge selection of product. Their buyer does a fantastic job, they always have a variety of merchandise for all different shapes — fun prints, classic black dresses, adorable shorts and skirts to choose from. They only have two dressing rooms so be prepared to wait for a few if it’s busy. I actually liked that I had to wait (my wait was under 5 minutes) –it allowed me to make sure I checked every rack for goodies. Parking can be a little bit of a pain if you visit during rush hour or on Saturday. Pull all the way in the back of the parking pad — there are a lot more spots back there.

Strut is having a 40% sale on ALL items. Purses, jewelry, dresses, all items in the store!
– All sales are final so make sure you dig the top or dress. No returns.
– They get new items each week (shipments come only on the week days) so pop in throughout the month to find new pieces to add to your wardrobe.
–They have a $ 5 & $ 10 rack. Some of the items are torn or are missing a zipper but search the rack — you can find a few gems that only need a quick stitch or button.

Great selection, fast turnover of of inventory, can’t ever leave without a great find! Easy swoop in location and parking.

Love love love strut. Especially this location. I feel like I can alwsys find at least one good item here. Their collection does a great job of appealing to all aspects of my split personality. This is pretty much the only place I buy shoes from. Im very picky about finding cute shoes that are comfortable and afordable. Unfortunately my shoes never last very long. Part of this is because I am a hair stylist who is on their feet for 9 hours a day and I love my shoes so much I only wear my new pair until they die. My advice is to sign up for their email list. They have secret sales every month that help make this hip shop even more worth the stop in

My favorite little gem in Austin, I can find something every time I go, in fact in the past two weeks I have been to all three Austin locations. I love the staff who is always helpful and attentive. I love the colors of the items, the shoe selection and jewelry. I even bought a stunner of a sequin dress and wore it for a night out in Vegas. For a girl on a budget this store has got it all!

I frequent the South Lamar location because it’s on my way home and I often buy outfits on a whim specifically for a same-​evening occasion. I think that’s what this place is best for, and if that’s the way it’s treated, it’s perfect.
Strut carries what you’re going to find at SoLa, at Langford Market, and Emeralds… but for some reason, it’s often much cheaper. And at this particular location… Everything upstairs is on sale — and there is a LOT to choose from. It may be damaged, it may just be out of season, but it’s going to be the perfect buy-​on-​the-​fly deal. These clothes don’t last forever: You don’t come here to buy quality, you’re buying fad. But that’s okay, that’s the point. Also, every pair of shoes upstairs is $ 10.00. I’ve never gone in needing shoes… but I’ve left with a pair of shoes every single time.
The upstairs can be hot, but there are extra dressing rooms there. Downstairs, the girls are really helpful with bringing you other sizes or options you ask for in the changing room.
So: Recap — for occasional wear and trendwear, this is a great stop. Inexpensive, cute, generally good selection. I’m actually stopping by today for the last dress I’ll ever wear before the world ends… if I make it there in time.

The fashion is a bit more hipster, trendy type however some of the designs can be quite plain. The clothes are a bit on the low quality side for the price. That is why I would only go when there’s a 40% off sale. Forever21 which is much like Strut, except the prices are reasonable and there is a huge selection. I wouldn’t mind paying extra for good quality clothing, but it seems like now a days designers miss the quality part of making clothes.
They also have accessories there, but they are overpriced. Honestly, the purses look like they can be found at buffalo exchange and thrift stores.
As for the staff, it is true that they don’t pay attention to the customers but I would rather not have someone asking me every five minutes if I need something. That is just my preference.

STRUT is a nice ladies boutique that has three locations in Austin. They have stylish clothing, tons of accessories and a wall of shoes to choose from. I’ve bought designs and shirts that I usually wouldn’t go for and they always look great. The place is filled with trendy skirts, tops, dresses and the nice staff is the cherry on top.
I do agree some of their stuff is a little pricey but the sales that they have every once in a while are worth it. The have 40% off everything on EVERY first Thursday each month! Also they have a foursquare special of 25% off when you check in the first time and if you are the mayor. And how would I know? Cause I am the mayor =).

Much more humble, genuine and kind than any other messages I’ve received from establishments I’ve given the solo star to. Based on her email alone, I’m going to give Strut another try.

This boutique has a really friendly staff and very cute, trendy clothing at moderately cheap prices.
I came here last Wednesday and bought this really charming, boho chic dress for only 45 dollars! I was so ecstatic for such a find because surely at any other boutique, it could have easily been 100 plus.
This is not the best part…
The very next day was the first Thursday of the month, which meant that everything in the store was 40% off. A veteran friend of mine told me of this, so we went to go shopping yet again. I saw the same sales girl there, so I asked her if I could get 40% off, and she was actually nice enough to give me store credit! Of course I went and used it right away on other clothing and accessories, so it really wasn’t too much of a loss for them… I hope.
I think they have such an array of styles that anyone can easily pick up at least one thing.
If I could change one thing, I suppose it would be the quality. My friend and I bought purses there and both of the chains fell off, so I vowed never to get purses… but in it’s defense, it was so HOT while it lasted… while it lasted… sigh.
There are cute clothes/​accessories, and you get what you pay for.

Strut is the place I head when I want to add some fun spice to my wardrobe without breaking my bank. Be cautious when making your selections though, because at prices this great, quality can sometimes be lacking. Especially check buttons — over the last two years I have re-​sewn most of my Strut dresses buttons back on, and have had endured some awkward and embarassing moments due to button failure at inappropriate times (and in inappropriate places)!
In spite of some quality issues I keep going back to Strut because of their great sales & their colorful clothing selection. Do yourself a favor and wait for first Thursday, when everything is 40% off! And sign up for their email list to get more great deals.
Last but not least, Strut has finally revealed an on-​line store for those of us who aren’t in Austin anymore! Woo! Be sure to check out their sale days online also — it’s not nearly as much fun as visiting the store & trying things on, but you can still get a great deal.

Wow. Even though the location and parking at this place is a super heinous impossible clusterfuck, I actually like shopping in this store because the staff is super laid back and very friendly. They are not overly attentive, but I like the low pressure environment. Also, they have a lot of seemingly cute items.
Today was the first time I purchased clothing from here because they were having a massive sale. EVERYTHING in the store was 70% off. I think that ethically, this should be the only time Strut is allowed to sell clothes. When they’re 70% off. The quality is RIDICULOUS.
Somehow the dress I tried on in the fitting room was very cute, but when I got it home and tried to unzip it to put it on, the zipper broke! I was actually really impressed that they timed it to hold together until the MINUTE I got home. Very clever. One point for Strut.
I am now wearing a zip-​up hoodie I bought today. As I reached in the bottom of my purse to dig out some chapstick I heard something rip. Sure enough, I look down and the seam just separated at the bottom of the sleeve. I kind of laughed a bit that I had been fooled into buying the pretend, Fischer Price version of real people clothes, but then two of the decorative buttons fell off of this thing while I was READING A BOOK, so I had to stop and write a review.
Yep, it’s 40 — LOVE and I totally lost. Strut wins because they suck so much and they still got my $ 29.81. Damn.

When it comes to clothing I“m a big believer of quality over quantity so Strut probably isn’t for me. While I liked the inexpensive prices I found the material to be pretty cheap and guessed I’d be saying good-​bye to anything I bought there after a few washes (especially with the way I manage to mess up my laundry;)).
That being said they did have a few cute things, one dress in particularly caught my eye, but it was so short that it barely covered my ass. The saleswoman insisted it was a dress (not a shirt). The college kids in town may be able to get away with that look, but I prefer to cover my butt these days.
