The Sunrise Mini-Mart just East of 35 on St. John’s is a pretty nice one stop shop. I have been here a couple of times to use their brand new laundromat with those huge washing machines to properly clean my king-sized comforter. It had been a long time since I had been to a washeteria when I first came here, and I was expecting the whole experience to be a huge drag much like it was in college. To my surprise, I was pretty entertained by the wide variety of beverages, snacks, and odd little toys in the convenient store, the cool looking Guatemalan chicken eatery, and the extremely fast and efficient laundry machines. I still haven’t tried the chicken at Pollo Campero, but it looks fantastic. The sign is like soooo Pollos Hermanos it’s hilarious btw. The bad things about Sunrise Mini-Mart are very typical. There are sometimes drunky looky-loos loitering outside, the ATM has pretty high fees, etc… No big deal in the broad scheme of things. If you’re using the laundromat come prepared with a fiver and some singles for the coin machine.
