Shouldn’t take my entire lunch break with two cars in front of me in the drive thru to get me a freaken burrito!

This place is some of the worst service I have ever experienced. I waited 22 min in the drive threw for 2 bean and cheese tacos. It dosn’t get worse then this, believe me.

We’ve been in line for 30 mins and still no service!!! The is ridiculous! How in the hell do you leave one person to do all the work??? Take orders and make the food? Ridiculous people!

Really?! I know you are a crapy fast food restaurant but this visit was atrocious.
Your girl ignored all the drive through customers ahead of me, I could hear them saying «Hello?» Repeatedly and then I had to do the same to the point where I gave up and just drive to the window where she proceeded to be «inconvenienced» be my existence while she took my order.
Simply ordered a cabana bowl with chicken. Asked for salsa ranch to which she said they didn’t have any so I drove off.
Just opened my bowl and there is ZERO chicken on my bowl.
Blah.

Lukewarm chicken fajita served on stiff, old tortilla with a tortilla-​making machine feet away. TC never fails to disappoint. Leave the salsa bar, close the restaurant!

People worked at drive thru didnt serve. We were ignored completely & had to get food from P.Terry. Defintely not coming back to this TC. I feel sorry for the owner. This happened today 3/12/16@ 2:30 p.m.

We have eaten at Taco Cabana’s for a number of years and always considered it a safe, inexpensive choice for fast casual. This place was just awful in every regard. It’s too bad there is not a choice for lesser than 1 star.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon at 12:15. There were just two other people in the restaurant. The guy taking orders was clueless. All of the condiments at the salsa bar were either gone, or just about at the bottom. When I complain, the guy behind the counter just shrugged his shoulders, the manager walked up, he said something to him. The manager promptly went to the back and closed the door. After about 15 minutes one of our orders was placed on the counter, along with our queso. A few minutes passed, I went to the counter and asked if it was ready, and was told the second order was waiting on beans. HUH! I went to front and was told the second order was waiting on tacos.
We finally got our food, and you guessed it, it was cold. My wife couldn’t help notice on of the young employees in the kitchen didn’t do any work the entire time we were there.
Oh, did I mention the place was filthy, with food and coffee spilled on the floor.

At first the staff seemed to be «NY Style» (i.e. indifferent and not in a rush to help), but they warmed up to me a bit after I tried to be polite. They have a good happy hour of margaritas and domestic beers for $ 1.50 each, M-​F, AFAIR. I’m not adventurous enough to actually eat here, so my review is just for the HH drinks. Overall, it’s what you expect from a TC, as long as you are okay with staff who will view you with reptilian indifference and don’t mind bland food, then it’s okay. Maybe the staff was having a bad day that day and aren’t always like that, but I’m not sure…

Arrived about 8:30 on Saturday morning. The service/​dining area was messy and the women’s bathroom was FILTHY. Quite obviously no early morning prep of the place had been done at all, but really, how early is 8:30? Have to say this is not something you normally see at TC so we won’t come to this location anymore.
My egg/​bacon taco had just enough egg so that you could still give it that name. And most distressingly, the flour tortilla was EVEN SMALLER than our last visit to a different TC just a couple of months ago. If they get any smaller they will have to be called flour tortilla chips! Hope this is not the new standard as TC tortillas have always been some of the most decent of all the Tex-​Mex fast food places but this is on the downhill slide.

I’m really disappointed in myself for giving them a try again. Never going back! Ordered enchilada plate and they were overcooked! Big time! Enchiladas should not crunch :/​Don’t waste your time and certainly not your money!

Horrible, horrible, horrible! Rudest customer service ever. They can’t seem to make anything right. I have stopped here a handful of times and the only word that comes to mind when describing this place is horrible. DON’T EVER go there!!!

The problem lies with this location only. After work I love getting a few breakfast tacos from TC. I gave this location 3 tries and each time the salsa has been bad. And I mean you could smell it from the bag. Absolutely disgusting. Then on my 3^rd visit. again, salsa with a stench and the cashier literally turned her head and sneezed into the line where they make your taco, rubbed her nose and handed me my change then my tacos. I didn’t eat them and will never go back.

Have been coming here for years!!! Yeah, Yeah finally downloaded Unilocal ap… LOVE this location! Best one out of the 3 I live within a mile of!!!

This place is ok. Go with a coupon and you get more than what you pay for. If you order to go check the food before you leave so there are no surprises at home. i have had that happen a few times over the years at this location. People are nice and I think the food is pretty good.
Not much to the cheese enchiladas but everything else is good. I like the sauce choices.

If I could give zero stars I would. They don’t deserve the one I was forced to give them for this visit.
Generally I’m a big fan of TC, but this one location has problems. Service is slow and indifferent. It took over two minutes to be acknowledged (notice I said acknowledged) and a while longer for my order to be taken. Ten minutes later folks who came in after me got their food?! Really??? When it was ready, it was kinda shoved at me. Strike one.
Ok, bad services happens occasionally so I started eating. Food was not so good either. The quesadilla was cold and the flour tortilla had hardened. The two tacos had been obviously thrown together. Strike two! Wanna go for three?

The food was greasy and the service was slow. Usually, I am a fan of Taco Cabana. The person taking my order did not understand what it was that I wanted, which made it a frustrating transaction. Not everything requested was received.

I’m not a «foodie» nor to I claim to be. I love to share what I like and the experiences I have.
That said, I LOVE this place. The staff is always kind and fun even on the days when there are 6+ people waiting in line to place orders. I like that they deliver the food to the table and I like to give them a little tip for that.
I started going to the original in San Antonio on San Pedro in high school and the fajitas taste the same. The pico is fresh and always tasty. It is and always will be a great place to go when I need a little «home style food».

Decent Mexican food for a low price. Good for lunch or even a post work margarita.
For breakfast, this place is popular for their breakfast tacos. You can order a huge box of them, which is perfect if you know you’re going to be late to the office and you want to be forgiven for your tardiness (lol!). For lunch/​dinner, there is a plethora of menu items to choose from. tacos, burritos, quesadillas, bowls, and much more. If you eat inside you will notice the fresh salsa bar that is stocked full of condiments and different types of salsa. My favorite is the mango salsa.
They do sell margaritas here that are frozen and come out of a machine. They taste a little strong but overall it will get the job done. This would be a good place to come after work with coworkers to casually have a drink and taco. Emphasis on the casual. this is no sports bar! If its warm outside a lot of people will sip their margaritas on the patio.
Most of these locations are open 24 hours, which is perfect for those drunk late nights when you’re starving and not in the mood for burgers and fries. HOWEVER. I will say that I came to this exact location on a saturday night around 2:30 am and it was CLOSED! I have never seen a Taco Cabana that wasn’t 24 hours. I have lived in San Antonio, where there are far more locations than Austin, and all of them are 24 hours. What gives?
I will come back to Taco Cabana but not this one.

First off, people need to pipe down about this place. It serves tacos, calm down.

I am a regular and go here often for some bean and cheese tacos from good old reliable T-​Cabs. I always order there. I don’t do the drive through.
They are doing the best they can here. I never have a bad time.
