Gets the job done where a lot of other places failed, but be prepared for some shenanigans. Unlike other medical providers I’ve worked with, they consider YOUR responsibility to figure out what’s going on with insurance and how much time you have remaining for physical therapy. I got stuck with a very large bill(~$ 450) before they finally called me up and tell me that I’m out of available time. The pros and cons of this place are neatly summed up in the people I worked with: ==Good == Women who work up front(Nicole?): excellent, always friendly Teri was an outstanding physical therapist, excellent service, clearly knows her field. Very happy. == Okay == Dr. Spears is clearly an expert and the guy to see on sports injuries, with some caveats: * A close talker — not much for personal space * Space Case — without explanation, wandered off during the check-up for 15 minutes * Tendency to poke an injury over and over(yes doc, that still hurts). == Terrible == Woman from billing(Mellissa) was extremely rude and condescending on the phone(see insurance note above). I know working with insurance companies can wear you thin, but hope never to have to interact with this woman again.

+ Doesn’t waste your money on expensive tests; great physical therapy program; very personable and knowledgeable; good at showing/explaining what happened — Sometimes can be too chatty; can be pricey for anything insurance doesn’t cover I’ve seen Dr. Spears several times for minor injuries — once for a sprain to my hamstring tendon, once for a popped rib, and once for what was diagnosed as a «burst bursis» on my elbow(basically, the tip of my elbow filled up with fluid, which then needed to be drained). For the first two appointments, both times I was terrified that I would need an MRI, which I would have had to pay for out of pocket. But both times, he knew exactly what had occurred, and specifically said we didn’t need to do an MRI because it would just confirm what we already know. For the first injury I came in for some physical therapy(admittedly pretty expensive), which fixed the problem in four or five visits.(Over a year later I repeated the injury, and using the same PT exercises I healed it myself in a couple of weeks without even going in for a visit.) For the second injury, he said I didn’t even need PT — just keep working out and it would heal itself in 4 – 6 weeks.(It did.) The PT staff is even better — very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Dr. Spears is fantastic. I am a marathon runner and a triathlete and he has helped me rehab 5 different injuries with physical therapy. He has never pressured me to do an MRI or recommended invasive procedures. All physical therapy is done in the office by his team of physical therapists. They do excellent work and have a great understanding of how to explain to a patient what needs to be done for proper rehab. I am in an allied health field and have a better understanding of anatomy and physiology than the average person and have always felt like this Dr. and his staff do a great job in their assessment and explanation to patients. I never feel like they are trying to do unnecessary procedures like I do with many other doctors. They take a variety of insurance, but might seem a bit pricy depending on your policy. The cost is worth it in my opinion as I think Dr. Spears is trustworthy and has his patients interests in mind.
