The Cleaning Authority

This review is about the office that covers Lakeway, TX. Aside from the fact the company is franchised but maintains a central phone system which makes speaking directly to your service provider similar to acrobatics this does not review any other location. It has been a few months, too late to do anything but apparently there are individuals that felt my things were worth the taking. A Swiss Army pocket watch that was my sons must have caught someone’s eye; gone. The sales team is top notch but the cleaning teams can’t deliver. I tried for months. Unless you are home, can watch and direct them I would try another service.

We have been using TCA weekly for a few months now, and my expectations so far have been exceeded! I would have no hesitation recommending TCA to a friend. High quality & efficient work, reasonably priced, trustworthy, friendly, excellent customer service… We’ll never use anyone else! :)

Rosy and Lupe did a wonderful job cleaning our house today. After a hard day at the office, it feels euphoric entering a sparkling clean home. Keep up the good work!!!

Highly recommend TCA Austin. We like the rotating cleaning schedule and have been happy with all the teams that have come to our house. Some are a little stronger than others but we haven’t had any complaints at all and strongly recommend them.
The company is very responsive to questions, etc. We used them several years back (prior to moving away and back) and was happy then as well. They have kept the company going strong. They also do not solicit reviews which is almost unheard of these days!
We have had many poor experiences in other areas (Not Austin) and were thrilled to be back with TCA Austin!

TCA teams have cleaned my homes since 2003 and boy, am I happy to not have that burden! Those hours are mine to get exercise or do the projects that us homeowners have to do on weekends. Their teams try hard and this company has problems finding people who want to work, even with the addition of health insurance — — thankfully they have kept many of the same team members who do a great job and are trained to be careful and use high-​quality cleaning products. (There is a review here claiming that a crew chipped her bathtub — — I’ve owned a lot of properties and trust me, a tub that «chips» means that tub was either very old, very «cheap» or had been refinished already… if a housekeeper can chip a tub by scrubbing, it’s time to call the refinish guys, who are inexpensive. Drew, I have a great guy if you need one)
This company is awesome and I recommend it to anyone who simply doesn’t want to clean their own house! The initial, deep clean is expensive, but they take extensive notes at that time to help them do a better job on the regular cleans after that. Let’s face it, you get what you pay for and to have TCA bring all of the supplies and their own vacuum cleaners is a nice luxury. I’ve had concerns a few times, but by calling the office right away, those have all been resolved quickly and to my satisfaction. NOTHING stolen ever (that’s what people ask me about) and the only things broken were small and damaged by accident.
I am happy to answer questions from anyone thinking about hiring The Cleaning Authority!

We are very happy with our experience! After meeting with Drew, we were scheduled for an initial cleaning. Reyna and Cristina met us, are professional, friendly, thorough, and we cannot thank them enough for the incredible service they provided. We look forward to our regular services in the future with The Cleaning Authority!

Horrible job. We paid close to $ 300 for our initial «deep clean» and it would have been $ 90 a week there after. They did such a bad job. One of the two girls was on her phone the whole time. They left animal hair on all of the base boards and at the base of the refrigerator. A few dishes were left in the sink. Mirrors were not cleaned well.
I DO NOT recommend this company!!!
Oh and they also charge a $ 25 rescheduling fee if you need to ever reschedule.

This place is wonderful. Highly, Highly recommend them. The first cleaning the crew came in and went right to work. Very professional. Spent 5.5 hours cleaning. Honestly the cleanest my house has ever been! They pay attention to details and consistently do a fantastic job. Their pricing is inline with independent people and you get the security of an insured & bonded company that takes care of it’s employees. Management follows up to make sure you are happy. Now I can spend my weekends enjoying Austin and not cleaning my house. Thank you Cleaning Authority!

I was contacted by The Cleaning Authority Management today. Awesome that they care enough to read their reviews! Big thumbs up. After discussing the issues, I hung up the phone happy with the way they operate.

I had TCA clean our house while we were on sabbatical and we had renters. Which meant that I was paying from CA while the cleaning was happening in Austin. Their customer service and response to my emails was fantastic. When problems cropped up (which of course they did with that arrangement) they handled them quickly.
I kept the service for a few months after we returned and was impressed with the quality of the cleans and professionalism of the staff.
I have no qualms about recommending TCA.

This update to my review is to clarify that the review was primarily regarding disorganization of the company (managers not instructed on company policy, cleaning staff not provided with parking space numbers, etc) and really bad cleaning (two tries and still dirty wood floors). The chipping of my tub and lack of responsibility for it was simply insult to injury. But I do want to address some points you (the owner) made in your reply. First, just because you and I can’t imagine how your staff might have chipped my tub does not mean they didn’t chip the tub. The repair company you directed me to indicated that it’s likely that the contractor grade tub chips easily and didn’t mention anything to me about your staff scrubbing so hard they could peel a previous repair off. In fact, the repair company instructed me that the first step in a repair is to sand down the area yet this chip has sharp edges. The fact is that the chip wasn’t there in the morning and no one was in the house but your staff.
Second, I have an email from you in which you indicated I would have to agree not to post a review, my partner could not post a review, and I could not encourage my friends to post a review. I was staggered that you had given it that much thought.
Finally, I am not personally involved in any lawsuits with the developers of my condo, especially not regarding a tub. You are correct, however, that I did ultimately give up on getting the repair fix paid for by you. The company you chose for the repair suggested I go with the alternate company because they believed they did a better job of making the repair undetectable. Unfortunately, the alternate company had an accelerated contract with a hotel chain and advised me they could not get to my repair in a timely manner. This was just as well because this review was earned most importantly with a very poor cleaning job after two opportunities to make it right.

Been using TCA for a couple of years now and overall, I’m quite pleased with their service. They’ve been flexible when I’ve needed to change our schedule, and responsive to feedback. The cleans (especially with our regular team) are of good quality and the staff is very friendly. The only reason I couldn’t give 5 stars is that we don’t always have the same team, however we know there is high turnover in this business. I would recommend them for reliable service, especially if you get a longtime staff member on your route.

Just had TCA come for our deep clean yesterday, and we keep inviting everyone to come over just to see how amazing our house looks! I have used another cleaning service for seven years and was very satisfied, but our area had a franchise change and the cleaning went down the tubes. My neignbors and I have tried a couple of other services, but so far no luck. Then I read TCA’s reviews on Unilocal and decided to give them a try. Laurie, who did our initial visit, was so much fun, we didn’t want her to leave, and everything she said was right on target with the things that were done. The one disconnect we had was immediately corrected by the folks in the office. We are excited to see how great it is to have our house this sparkling on a regular basis.

The cleaning is good the business side sucks. So my advice to you is to not refer anyone. If you do and they do not pay their bill, then you will be considered a responsible contact/​party. The other persons bill is then added to your credit report and the rest is on you. Again, good clenaing, just don’t refer anyone to their company!

WORST WORST WORST Experience ever!
Decided to try TCA based on good Unilocal reviews. The whole process from the beginning was raising red flags left and right, but we decided to go ahead with the initial clean service and boy were we sorry! The assessor Esmerelda who came out to give the estimate, paperwork, etc. almost immediately gave my wife and I attitude. We have special requirements because of severe allergies (in our sons case his peanut allergy could be life threatening) Specifically we asked that they use our cleaning supplies and vacuum so we can ensure no exposure to allergens from other households. We also requested we have a consistent cleaning crew as much as possible and that at least one of the two cleaners would be from the team we had already trained and acclimated with our house, special circumstances, and our children. I know this is not a big deal for some, but for us this is critical — these are people you are inviting into your inner sanctum, who have complete access to your prized possessions so we feel trust is very important for anyone who cleans your house.
After the assessment on Tuesday, we did not hear back until Friday. Esmerelda called and said she had scheduled a crew for every other Friday. When we said fridays would not work, she got an attitude and said she would try her best but that she was had doubts that they would be able to accommodate our schedule. She called back and scheduled us for the following Tuesday. Then over the weekend we received an email from her stating the schedule with the following caveat: «Overall, I really hope we work out for you, on our end we will really try to satisfy your requests. However, as I mentioned I am not making any promises aside from effort being going to be made.»
I almost wanted to cancel the service right there and even though my gut told me to, we decided to keep the service scheduled since we were already invested a week in the process.
Maids showed up and brought all their own supplies, did not listen when I told them to use our vacuum, basically none of the notes the estimator had taken were conveyed to the crew. Not to mention my toddler who is usually good with people and a great judge of character had a complete meltdown and unnatural aversion to them and would not stop crying and clinging to me. When my wife called them, the estimator Esmerelda was curt and rude and said she did not remember being told about our sons life threatening allergy. After she hung up with my wife, she called the crew and they left our house not even halfway cleaned, cleaning supplies, trash cans everywhere and a bag of trash at the foot of the stairs. WOW! I have never experienced anything like that, it was like they spitefully left our house in disarray because we were not satisfied with their service. RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and downright UNPROFESSIONAL! Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this service!

I have been using the Cleaning Authority for the past 8 years and have had an excellent experience. They are reliable and thorough. Their teams are professional and friendly. I highly recommend them!

My family has been using The Cleaning Authority for several years now, and overall, we have been happy with the cleanings.
The crew is friendly and they are pretty consistent in terms of arrival time and duration of the clean.
One of the best parts of having this company clean our house is that there is always a cleaning crew available when we need to reschedule, and flexibility is great!

The Cleaning Authority delivers what it promises. We received a hanger on our front door and I was impressed with the detailed list of everything that would be included in the ‘initial clean’ and the ‘rotation’ afterwards. Yes, this company is more expensive than Merry Maids or other cleaning services, but the attention to detail is much better and the owner really listened when I reported a few problems (house cleaners talking on the phone when they should have been working, spots on my copper sink). He did all he could to make things right.
Realize that cleaning services are only as good as the management. For now, I’m a fan.

Do not use them. I just had my cleaning today and I am very unhappy.
First, the initial clean price that was told to me was completely different from the bill I received. It was $ 120 MORE than the initial price communicated. The total cost for the initial clean was $ 183. When I spoke to the woman that I met with she denied what we discussed.
In addition, they missed several areas. With the extreme overcharge you would think they would make sure to wipe down the kitchen counter. When I addressed the missed areas, they said they would send someone out the next day in the afternoon within a 2 hour window. So essentially, they want me to wait 24 hours to get my kitchen counter and my bathroom sinks cleaned properly and wait around for 2 hours for them. No Thank you!
I am more than disappointed. I have always had my house cleaned. I have never written a review before, but I truly feel that this company is unprofessional. I was planning on having them clean every other week for $ 81 = which is now a loss $ 2080 annually to them.
